Al-Daghestani, Anas, AlKassem, Mahinour January 2016 (has links)
FPGA systems can have a wide variety of applications within electrical engineering, product development, and prototyping. Their flexibility, low cost, and high performance have made it burst into the market with results that exceeded many expectations. National Instruments offers several software and hardware that integrate FPGA systems in their design and implementation. In this thesis work, a NI FPGA system is used along with LabVIEW myRIO 2014 software to run a graphical FPGA code, hence, identifying best practices that must be associated with using the software and the hardware of National Instruments FPGA interfaces and also compare different methods for programming, communication, and data conversion of the FPGA interfaces.

Development of a Software-Defined Integrated Circuit Test System Using a System Engineering Approach on a PXI Platform

Flores, Alfonso S 24 October 2008 (has links)
There are various types of test performed on Integrated Circuits, (IC), for detecting and locating defects and faults during failure analysis. Functional, logic, parametric and IDDQ tests are among the most common. Functional IC tests are designed to verify whether the IC performs its intended function. Logic tests verify the logic operation of gates and registers. AC and DC parametric tests are used to measure time, voltage and current-varying parameters associated with the operational limits of the IC. Test parameters in parametric testing include, among others, propagation delay, operating current and signals rise and fall time. Currently, almost all ICs are manufactured or refurbished in Asia. A greater portion of the ICs are processed in China and Malaysia. Presently issues with component reliability are compromised since the ICs are not tested before they leave the factory, are sometimes only remarked with different part numbers and date codes or resold even though they do not work properly. These activities lead to a high level of uncertainty among consumers all over the world. The purpose of this research was the design of a software-defined semiconductor validation test system using the PCI eXtension for Instrumentation, (PXI), platform. The test system was to be capable of performing Open and Short Circuit Tests for CMOS components. Open and Short Circuit Tests verify for faults at the protection diode circuitry of CMOS chips level. The test system reduces the overall test timing compared to the tests performed by a functional instrument such as a curve tracer. PXI is a modular instrumentation platform originally introduced in 1997 by National Instruments, (NI). PXI is an open, PC-based platform for test, measurement and control. PXI possesses the highest bandwidth and lowest latency with modular inputs and outputs for high-resolution from DC to RF frequencies. PXI was designed for measurement and automation applications that require high-performance. Concepts associated with the Systems of Systems Engineering, (SoSE), approach were applied to this research in order to facilitate the design process for the test system. The objective was to apply Systems Engineering methodologies to the design of this particular test system.

Control System for a Remote Electronics Laboratory / Styrning av elektronik distanslaboratorium

Rosen, Anders, Nilsson, Kristian January 2007 (has links)
The work done in this thesis has to do with the equipment server which has been upgraded with a new circuit wiring robot and a new voltage source and therefore needed new software. The main change were that the old circuit wiring robot, or matrix, were controlled via a IO card that were cumbersome to use and rather expensive, this was changed to a USB interface which is more generic and relatively easy to use. / Kristian Nilsson +46704443324 Anders Rosen +46705891352

Analyse und Validierung unterschiedlicher Merkmalsextraktionsalgorithmen auf LabVIEW-Basis zur Maschinendiagnose nach DIN ISO 10816-3

Nickel, Helge 18 March 2021 (has links)

SW moduly pro NI VeriStand / SW modules for NI VeriStand

Žlebek, Jan January 2017 (has links)
Thesis is oriented to analysis of existing solutions and making own solutions of SW mo- dules for NI VeriStand. These modules are meant to enable communications with CAN, ARINC429, RS-485, SPI and SDLC buses in scope as defined by Honeywell company. To work on base of existing solutions is highly suitable, and in case of existence of sufficient implementation no additional work is appropriate. Analysis of current state of availa- ble SW resources revealed, that sufficient components for CAN, ARINC429 and RS-485 exist, so I continued to implement only SPI and SDLC. Components are designed as NI VeriStand Custom Devices and have their own FPGA parts.

Management of Conflict-Induced Internally Displaced Persons in a "Post-Conflict" Context : A Comparative Case Study of Uganda and South Sudan

van Deetjen, Lovisa January 2020 (has links)
Internal displacement is one of the most significant challenges in the world today, and violence, conflict, and climate-related disasters have engendered millions of internally displaced persons (IDPs) on the globe. Despite this, the IDP-population is a marginalised group on the international agenda and stay primarily under governmental protection and assistance. This makes the adequacy and durability of solutions and governmental management of IDPs crucial. The number of IDPs continues to rise every year, and many nations have evident difficulties in IDP-management, negatively affecting prospects for sustainable peace. Previous research has primarily focused on singular aspects of IDPs and solutions of such. Less has been written in terms of a broader and more comprehensive understanding of government management of internal displacement. Several scholars, researchers, and experts have stressed the urgency to pay more attention to the issue and consider IDPs a concern beyond humanitarian responsibility. This study seeks to increase the understanding of governmental management of IDPs from a broader and more holistic point of view. This by comparing two cases that have faced high numbers of IDPs in a "post-conflict" context (Uganda and South Sudan) and applying the Inter-Agency Standing Committee Framework on Durable Solutions for IDPs as a guide and analytical tool for comparison. The study finds that the governments have managed the situation with similarities and dissimilarities but have both faced difficulties in providing durable solutions and adequate response to IDPs' plight. Accentuated is also the insufficiency of establishing national instruments covering durable solutions when the political will or national capacity is absent. Reflected in the IDP-situations and trajectories examined, the primary obstacles for adequate response and management have been solely or a combination of such. The study also accentuates the interconnection of IDP-management and peace processes. For peace to be sustainable, and for solutions for IDPs to be durable, simultaneous progress of peace processes and IDP-management is crucial.

Měření a vyhodnocení chvění na stejnosměrném motorku laboratorního pohonu / Measurement and evaluation of laboratory DC drive vibration

Bilý, Michal January 2018 (has links)
This thesis encompasses measuring and rating of vibrations in electric machines. The theoretical part begins with a short description of possible causes of vibrations, which is followed by a discussion about what consequences the vibrational effects have on electrical devices. Then there is a description of available vibration sensors. The bigger part is then devoted to analysis of vibratory signal in both time and frequency domains. The practical part is divided into two chapters. The first one describes laboratory demonstration of control drive with DC motor, which is expanded by measurement of vibrations. The second chapter deals with measurement and analysis of said vibrations in the demonstration.
