Upgrade of a LabVIEW based data acquisition system for wind tunnel test of a 1/10 scale OH-6A helicopter fuselage

Lines, Philipp A. 06 1900 (has links)
Approved for public release, distribution is unlimited / For over half a century the NPS Aerolabʼ Low Speed Wind Tunnel located in Halligan Hall of the Naval Postgraduate school has served to provide students and faculty with meaningful aerodynamic data for research and problem analysis. New data acquisition hardware was installed three years ago but never fully verified, and contained no integrated software program to collect data from the strain-gauge balance pedestal. Existing National Instruments based hardware for the NPS low-speed wind tunnel was reconfigured to obtain data from the strain-gauge pedestal. Additionally, a data acquisition software program was written in LabVIEW⠭ to accommodate the hardware. The Virtual Instruments (VI) program collects and plots accurate data from all four strain gauges in real-time, producing non-dimensional force and moment coefficients. A research study on the performance of an OH-6A helicopter fuselage was conducted. NPS Aerolabʼ wind tunnel tests consisted of drag, lift, and pitching moment measurements of the OH-6A along yaw and angle-of-attack sweeps. The results of the NPS wind tunnel data were compared against testing conducted on a full-scale OH-6A helicopter in NASA Ames' 40 ft. x 80ft. wind tunnel, along with the U.S. Army's Light Observation Helicopter (LOH) wind tunnel tests. Results of current testing substantiate the LabVIEW⠭ code. / Ensign, United States Navy

Obrtáč, Tomáš January 2019 (has links)
This thesis covers the development of complex HIL simulator for the fifth car door. The beginning of the thesis is dedicated to theoretical research in the area of In-the-Loop testing. Practical part describes development of HIL simulator complemented by power electronics part. A simulation environment Matlab/Simulink was used for control design and analysis. Before the beginning of the work was measured signal part of control unit and specific signal sequences were identified. The control was applied on sbRIO device from National Instruments company with the implementation of a model on FPGA. Specific requirements for sensing speed and generation of communication signals lead to creation of unique hardware for application needs. The result of the thesis is complex HIL simulator with intuitive GUI and possibility of simulations a wide range of DC motors.

Zazen pro diagnostiku asynchronnch motor / Device for diagnostic of induction machine

Buln, Tom January 2014 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to study the problems of induction motors, which belong among the most widespread and used machines. Due to their expansion, it is advisable to start the fault monitoring to prevent any more damage and losses. It can be used for condition monitoring different types of methods, which are variety technically and costly demanding to implement. It is used the method of measurement using stator currents in this thesis, because these currents are already monitored and it is easy to create devices for a more detailed analysis. The whole monitoring is carried out using products from National Instruments. The program of monitoring is created in graphical setting of LabVIEW. The analysis is conducted by calculating the Fast Fourier transform of the time signal. The result is the frequency spectrum, which contains frequency peaks and some of these peaks represent failure. The test data are collected with a DAQ device and then the same data are used for creating a methodology for evaluating online analysis and it is subsequently implemented into CompactRIO.

Automatizované měření přechodných dějů v synchronních generátorech / Automated measurement of transient phenomena of synchronous generators

Hvězda, Jindřich January 2009 (has links)
My master´s thesis named “Automated measurement of transient phenomena of synchronous generators“ deals with transient phenomena appearing during a three-phase short-circuit on output clips of synchronous generators. Introduction of my master´s thesis named “Theory of transient phenomena of synchronous generators” deals with a theoretic description of transient phenomena appearing during a three-phase short-circuit on output clips of synchronous generators. This part treats the existence of direct and alternating components of short-circuit currents flowing in stator winding during a three-phase short circuit. Afterwards it treats reactances of stator windidng for the duration of a three-phase short-circuit on clips of synchronous generators. Theme of the following part of the master´s thesis is “Technical setting of measuring system for analysis of transient phenomena of synchronous generators”. This part deals with an analysis of technical setting that characterizes measuring sensors. These sensors scan measured electrical magnitudes that describe transient phenomena. Measuring hardware by a firm National Instruments is designed on the basis of technical setting. Following part of the master´s thesis named “Measuring hardware for measuring of transient phenomena of synchronous generators as a platform PXI/SCXI” deals with a description of technical characteristics of designed measuring hardware for measuring transient phenomena. Practical part of the master´s thesis named “Software TransientVIEW for analysis of transient phenomena of synchronous generators” describes in detail a software conception of user interface of software TransientVIEW that is developed in a developing interface LabVIEW 8.6 by the firm National Instruments. Afterwards it treats implemented user functions that allows exact and effective work with analysis of transient phenomena of synchronous generators.

Nord, Dennis January 2009 (has links)
<p>Examensarbetet syftar till att jämföra nya alternativ till olika system för användning i laborationer i reglerteknikkurser för olika studentkategorier. Systém Hefaistos / The Hefaistos System

Mancl, Vlastimil January 2019 (has links)
This master's thesis describes functionality and principle of the Hefaistos measurement system, which is fully automated and modular. Its purpose is to measure frequency responses of materials and its temperature dependence. The thesis describes all the necessary parts of the modular measurement system. Main part of this system is the control application programmed in LabVIEW software environment. Another necessary parts are impedance analyzers for acquiring frequency dependencies and heating chambers for heating measured materials. The control application ensures hardware synchronization between impedance analyzers and heating chambers. Together they create the Hefaistos system. Modularity of the system means that a user may choose which instrument combination will be used. The system offers choice between three impedance analyzers Agilent 4294A, Wayne Kerr 6520B and HIOKI 3532 LCR Hi-Tester and two heating chambers AOIP GEMINI 700 LRI and AOIP HYPERION. Possibilities of the Hefaistos system are demonstrated on the results of an example measurement.
