Análise de necessidades de formação continuada de professores : uma contribuição às propostas de formação /

Galindo, Camila Jose. January 2011 (has links)
Its objectives were: to understand how teacher education needs are expressed and developed in a professional context; to identify the representations of teachers needs in the work place; to understand the surrounding and interfering elements about teachers needs and in-service education needs; to understand the way the first cycle primary teachers deal with their needs; to suggest structures to in-service education based on needs analysis. This study is theoretically based on three 3 axes of the educational research: the teacher education (Day, Gatti, Estrela, Mizukami, Monteiro & Giovanni, Garcia); the needs analysis (Galindo, Rodrigues, Wilson & Easen, Rodrigues & Esteves); and the teaching as such (Tardif & Lessard). The authors cited above helped to organise and to carry out different ways to analyse education needs and in-service education from the identification of dialogue fields theoretically overlapped with education needs (Korthagen, Lopes, Hargreaves, Schön, Huberman, among others). The empirical part of this study was carried out based on methodologies with ethnographical characteristics. Data were collected in a school located in the suburb of Araraquara city, Brazil, mainly composed by participant observation records in two first cycle primary teachers' classes. Data were supported by a structured interview conducted with 12 first cycle teachers in the same school in 2009. Data collection means were mainly the information about the school and its neighbourhood. It was possible through data collection to get some information about teachers, concerning their school and professional education, their social relationships, their leisure, their difficulties and motivations, their professional... Towards a prioritization of needs to support decision making in organizational change processes

Kaiser, Alexander, Fahrenbach, Florian, Kragulj, Florian, Grisold, Thomas January 2018 (has links) (PDF)
The purpose of this paper is to introduce a decision support system to prioritize needs that are anchored in an organization. We build on a systems-thinking approach and develop a weighted additive index which considers different viewpoints of organizational stakeholders. First, we briefly review the literature about identifying and prioritizing needs from various scientific disciplines. Then, we use boundary critique to identify critical stakeholders that lead to three different viewpoints in the decision support system. The internal view reflects needs that members of the organization find important and urgent to be satisfied. The external view considers knowledge of outsiders, i.e. who do not work in the organization but are acquainted with it (e.g. experts, customers, facilitators). The systemic view considers system inherent interrelations of needs as perceived by decision makers in the organization. These stakeholder views get assessed by different dimensions, which are subsequently combined and weighted. Based on a method to identify needs, we apply this index in an case study conducted in Austria and discuss implications for theory and practice.

Strategiese behoeftebepaling vir die daarstelling van individuele ontwikkelingsplanne.

Hough, Andrew John 10 June 2014 (has links)
M.Phil. (Training Management) / Training can only be cost-effective and goal-orientated when it is .directed at the needs of the individual. Goal-orientated training is, however, dependant upon the trainers ability to provide for a model aimed at not only the needs of the individual, but which also caters for the specific work situation and the demands of the organisation. The study is therefore directed at the provision of a scientific model to determine and evaluate training needs. The literature study also places the emphasis on especially needs assessment, needs assessment processes and models. The assessment of needs is discussed as part of the systematic approach for training and the chief objective is formulated to provide the correct training for each individual with due cognisance to the knowledge and skills already attained and which will meet the requirements of the post he occupies or will occupy.

Public library provision of resources for dyslexic individuals

Rutledge, Hazel January 2000 (has links)
"Dyslexia is best described as a specific difficulty in learning, in one or more of reading, spelling and written language which may be accompanied by difficulty in number work, short term memory, sequencing auditory and/or visual perception, and motor skills." (British Dyslexia Association) This thesis aims to investigate the extent to which public libraries attempt to meet the needs of the dyslexic community. Libraries are key resource centres for reading and accessing the written language and should aim to meet the needs of their various user communities. Libraries should, therefore, be in the forefront in assisting users in overcoming this disability. Although much is written on the subject of dyslexia and most libraries have descriptive material on the subject, public libraries do not appear particularly proactive in providing material for use by dyslexic individuals. There is a tendency for dyslexia to be seen primarily as an educational issue. However, iflibraries are to continue to have a role in self improvement, literacy and life long learning, they should be addressing areas such as dyslexia. A survey of the literature revealed that little has been written in the professional literature about public library resource provision for dyslexic users. A questionnaire was sent 152 Public Library authorities in the United Kingdom (excluding Scotland) to ascertain the range of services and initiatives offered to people with dyslexia. The results indicate that a modest number of authorities have dedicated collections for people with dyslexia as well as material on the subject aimed towards parents, teachers and carers. The findings suggest that although interest in the potential role of libraries in serving the needs of the dyslexic community is high, relatively little is being done to address the issue in a structured way. Library authorities with dedicated collections for people with dyslexia have been investigated as comparative case studies covering themes such as composition and funding of collections, involvement with other agencies, methods of communication, location and lessons learned. Other case studies explore user needs and actions undertaken by a specialist resource centre. Supporting studies include a survey of resources available from specialist publishers. The thesis concludes witl a summary of findings ancLrecommendations for public libraries on the way ahead in terms of best practice to meet. the needs of dyslexic individuals.

A needs assessment for an employee assistance program at Kalafong Hospital

Molefe, Effie 04 March 2004 (has links)
This research study was conducted to determine the need for an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) at Kalafong Hospital as a way of assisting troubled employees to deal with either personal or work-related problems they experienced. These problems affect their job performance negatively if left unattended. An EAP is effective in dealing with employees’ problems as it addresses all social problems that affect employees’ job performance. The aim of the study was to explore the feelings, experiences and needs of employees of Kalafong Hospital with regard to an EAP at Kalafong Hospital. Data was collected by means of semi-structured interviews utilising a schedule as a guideline for the researcher during the interviews. Twenty (20) respondents participated in the study. This investigation revealed that employees of this hospital experienced personal and work-related problems that, if left unattended, had a negative effect on their job performance. Methods currently used to help troubled employees of this hospital are not as effective as that of an EAP. Social workers provide very little help to employees as their services are earmarked for patients of this hospital. Supervisors and union representatives are also not formally trained to assist troubled employees and thus provide very little help to the employees. It is therefore concluded that there is a need for a structured Employee Assistance Program in this hospital, as it will provide comprehensive services to employees. / Dissertation (MSD (EAP))--University of Pretoria, 2005. / Social Work and Criminology / Unrestricted
