O processo de terciarização da economia, o qual se faz presente claramente desde os primórdios da cidade do Rio de Janeiro, promoveu profundas transformações na organização interna da cidade, o que implica em novos usos do espaço urbano e gera novos processos na cidade, sobretudo em nossa área de estudo, o bairro de Botafogo. O processo de globalização provoca mudanças significativas na economia mundial. A cidade, portanto se insere nos espaços de globalização e, assim, sofre mudanças que vão se refletir em sua estrutura urbana. Desta forma, o setor de serviços é dinamizado, reforçando, então, o processo de terciarização. Neste caso, se torna evidente a relação entre urbanização as atividades terciárias. Percebe-se, assim, o surgimento de um novo modelo de urbanização, atrelado à presença destas atividades terciárias, as quais serão de suma importância para a constituição de novas centralidades no espaço interno da cidade, como é o caso de Botafogo. Neste contexto, os espaços de cultura e lazer têm fundamental importância, visto que atraem fluxos de consumidores, os quais se aproveitam da infraestrutura proporcionada pelo Estado, sobretudo de transportes, através do metrô e das inúmeras linhas de ônibus que servem o bairro. Os espaços de cultura e lazer possuem uma grande importância no contexto de renovação de Botafogo, uma vez que o bairro apresenta uma grande concentração de equipamentos desta natureza, os quais contribuem para uma maior circulação de pessoas em seu espaço interno. Observam-se duas áreas de concentração destes espaços em Botafogo, as quais se localizam nas extremidades e adjacências do principal eixo viário do bairro, onde podemos encontrar também onde se concentram serviços especializados. Então, podemos dizer que, na esfera do consumo, estes espaços de cultura e lazer surgem como resultado de ações públicas e privadas. Os espaços de cultura e lazer promovem uma nova dinâmica a Botafogo e gera impactos na economia urbana do Rio de Janeiro. São responsáveis pelo surgimento de uma nova centralidade no âmbito da cidade e contribuem, portanto, para o processo de reestruturação urbana da cidade do Rio de Janeiro / The process of outsourcing of the economy, which clearly is present since the beginnings of the city of Rio de Janeiro, fostered profound changes in the internal organization of the city, which involves new uses of urban space and creates new processes in the city, especially in our study area, the neighborhood of Botafogo. In this context, the spaces of culture and leisure are of fundamental importance, since they attract flows of consumers who take advantage of the infrastructure provided by the State, especially in transport, through the subway and numerous bus lines that serve the neighborhood. The spaces for culture and leisure have a great importance in the renewal of Botafogo, once the district has a large concentration of such equipment, which contribute to an increased movement of people in your inner space. Shows two areas of concentration of these spaces in Botafogo, which are located at the ends and adjacent to the main road axis of the neighborhood, where we also find a large concentration of specialized services. (RN), particularly the dynamics of the Bela Vista neighborhood has been established as a new urban centrality. We start from the perspective that the process of urbanization as a result of the transformation of the capitalist system have profound impacts on the restructuring of urban space, which includes resetting and training of new urban centralities. The basic assumption accepts that recent economic changes have led to the adoption of new strategies for the location of large commercial equipment and services, contributing to urban expansion and redefinition of its centrality, leading to the formation of new urban centralities. The research strategy adopted consists of a case study oriented based on the analysis of qualitative information, but also incorporates quantitative information. Interviews with qualified informants were conducted, as well as field surveys, photographic documentation, in order to grasp the phenomenon observed. The survey results show that the Bela Vista neighborhood can be considered a new urban center, housing the specialized trade and service activities, as well as townhouses, which differentiates it from other areas of the city / Esta disserta??o ? resultado de pesquisa que teve como objetivo reconstituir o processo de expans?o recente do espa?o urbano de Mossor? (RN), particularmente a din?mica do bairro Bela Vista que se consolida como uma nova centralidade urbana. Partimos da perspectiva de que o processo de urbaniza??o, como resultado das transforma??es do sistema capitalista, tem profundos impactos sobre a reestrutura??o do espa?o urbano, que inclui a redefini??o e forma??o de novas centralidades urbanas. O pressuposto b?sico aceita que as recentes transforma??es econ?micas em Mossor?-RN t?m levado ? ado??o de novas estrat?gias de localiza??o de equipamentos comerciais e de servi?os, contribuindo para a sua expans?o urbana e forma??o de novas centralidades urbanas. A estrat?gia de pesquisa adotada constitui-se de um estudo de caso orientado com base em an?lise de informa??es qualitativas, mas que tamb?m incorpora informa??es quantitativas.
