<p>Bland äldre patienter i Sverige är undernäring ett problem som växer sig allt större.</p><p>Forskning har visat att många äldre patienter riskerar att drabbas av ohälsa, minskat</p><p>välbefinnande och lägre egenvårds kapacitet vid undernäring (Johansson, 2004).</p><p>Syftet med denna litteraturstudie var att genom omvårdnadsforskning belysa</p><p>sjuksköterskors attityder och kunskaper till nutritionsbehov och</p><p>nutritionsbedömningar hos äldre patienter över 65 år. En systematisk litteraturstudie</p><p>valdes som metod, systematisk sökning, kritisk granskning, dataanalys samt</p><p>sammanställning av vetenskapliga artiklar inom problemområdet gjordes. I</p><p>dataanalysen framkom teman som sjuksköterskors attityd till nutrition,</p><p>nutritionsbehov och nutritionsbedömning av äldre patienter. Sjuksköterskors kunskap</p><p>och utbildning om nutritionens betydelse för patienternas välbefinnande. Resultatet i</p><p>denna studie visar att nutritionskunskap och utbildning bland sjuksköterskor i dag är</p><p>otillräcklig. Slutsatsen blir således, för att kunna fastställa och tillgodose äldre</p><p>patienter nutritionsstatus bör en ökad kompetens utveckling bland sjuksköterskor</p><p>ske.</p>

Factors contributing to absenteeism amongst nurses: a management perspectiveNyathi, N'wamakhuvele Maria 28 February 2005 (has links)
Quantitative, descriptive research was conducted to determine which factors contribute to absenteeism among nurses. A structured self-administered questionnaire was administered to the entire population of nurses who worked at a district hospital in the Limpopo Province. Statistical data analysis, involving factor analysis, frequencies and Chi-squares was performed. The findings revealed that various factors related to the characteristics of the nurse, characteristics of the manager, characteristics of the work and characteristics of the organisation contribute to absenteeism. Professional nurses and sub-professional nurses, as well as nurses younger than 40 and nurses who are 40 years and older, appeared to disagree on the extent to which various factors contribute to absenteeism in the workplace. This study was aimed at assisting organisations and managers in reducing absenteeism in the workplace, and by doing so, improving the quality of care. / Health Studies / MA (HEALTH STUDIES)

Orientador: Alessandro Lia Mondelli / Resumo: Introdução: Atualmente, a Síndrome de Burnout é um dos desdobramentos mais importantes do estresse ocupacional prolongado e crônico, acometendo casos nos quais o tratamento contra essa condição não foi utilizado, falhou ou não foi suficiente. É caracterizada por três diferentes componentes: exaustão emocional (EE), despersonalização (DP) e ausência de realização profissional (RP). Embora o Burnout acometa as mais diversas profissões, aquelas em que se lida com o sofrimento alheio aumentam em vulnerabilidade. Os enfermeiros estão submetidos continuamente a elementos geradores do estresse laboral, que são associados à síndrome. Este estudo se justifica pela frequência na relação entre o trabalho de enfermagem e a Síndrome de Burnout. Método: Trata-se de um estudo transversal que foi desenvolvido em um hospital universitário, localizado no interior de São Paulo, sendo a população composta por todos os enfermeiros de todos os setores do hospital, os quais responderam a um questionário com dados que traçam o perfil dos profissionais e, na sequência, um instrumento validado que avaliou a presença e o grau da Síndrome de Burnout, denominado Maslach Burnout Inventory – Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS). Os dados foram correlacionados a fim de se identificar o perfil dos profissionais que desenvolveram Burnout. (Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: Introduction: Currently, the Burnout Syndrome is one of the most important consequences of prolonged and chronic occupational stress, affecting cases in which the treatment against this condition was not used, failed or was not sufficient. It is characterized by three different components: emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalization (DP) and absence of professional fullfilment (PR). Although the syndrome affects the most diverse professions, those dealing with the suffering of others increase in vulnerability. Nurses are continuously subjected to elements that generate work stress which is associated with the syndrome. The present study is justified by the frequency in the relationship between nursing work and the Burnout Syndrome. Method: This is a cross-sectional study that was developed at the a Medical School Hospital in the country side of São Paulo. The population was composed of all nurses from all sectors of the hospital, who answered a questionnaire with data that outlined the profile of the professionals and, subsequently, a validated instrument that evaluated the presence and degree of Burnout Syndrome called the Maslach Burnout Inventory-Human Services Survey (MBI-HSS). Background: The societys requirements for nurses working in care are to achieve good qualitative, safe care for patients that experiencing several trauma and suffering. Todays medical care with high patient flow and pace, as well as savings and low nursing staffing. Reported to be contributing factors to nurses suffering from compassion fatigue. Problem:The combination of this and the inadequate guidelines or support for being able to handle these requirements as a nurse, this contributing factors to nurses developing compassion fatigue Purpose: The purpose of the thesis work is to highlight the nurses experience of compassion fatigue. Method: A qualitative literature study with descriptive synthesis, twelve articles has been analyzed according to Evans (2002). Results: To create a balance between working life and priva life, having knowledge and being read as well as taking care of yourself is considered essential to avoid compassion fatigue. A support from management and colleagues was considered important to counteract compassion fatigue. Conclusion: nurses who experience stress or compassion fatigue as well as lacking tools or knowledge about what counteracts compassion fatigue can have difficulty emotionally engaging in caring. The development of an implementation framework for service-learning in the undergraduate nursing programme in the Western CapeJulie, Hester January 2014 (has links)
Philosophiae Doctor - PhD / In this doctoral thesis, I explored how the national guidelines for higher education to institutionalise service-learning as a particular type of community engagement were implemented in South African higher education institutions. Whilst the particular School of Nursing where the study was conducted was cognisant of the national policy imperative on service-learning as stipulated in the guidelines of the Higher Education Quality Committee (HEQC), operationalisation within the academic programmes had not been addressed. An intervention study was thus undertaken to develop a service-learning implementation framework for the School of Nursing using the multi-phased design and development model of Rothman and Thomas (1994). The factors that influenced the implementation of the HEQC’s service-learning policy guidelines in the nursing programmes were explored during the first phase: problem analysis and project planning. During this phase, the research focused on the readiness of the school to institutionalise service-learning at organisational and individual level because service-learning scholars advocate a systems approach to service-learning institutionalisation. At organisational level, the research question investigated whether the higher education institution had created an enabling environment for the school to institutionalise service-learning successfully in the academic. The factors that were associated with readiness at organisational (school) level were those cited as critical success factors for service-learning institutionalisation by Furco (2002) or better known in South African terminology as service-learning good practice indicators. Individual readiness was determined in terms of service-learning scholarship and willingness to participate in service-learning -capacitating activities.

Previous issue date: 2007 / A integralidade do cuidado no processo de formação da enfermeira é um estudo realizado com doze docentes e nove discentes de um curso de graduação em enfermagem de uma cidade do interior do estado da Bahia. Neste trabalho busquei analisar o princípio da integralidade do cuidado à saúde nas práticas curriculares desenvolvidas no processo de formação da enfermeira, através da noção de integralidade trazida pelos entrevistados, bem como evidências de aproximações e distanciamentos do princípio nas práticas curriculares. Utilizei como referencial teórico a produção científica do LAPPIS. No percurso metodológico, utilizei a abordagem qualitativa, com coleta de dados através da técnica de grupo focal. Para trabalhar os dados coletados, utilizei a análise temática, onde identifiquei cinco unidades temáticas: Compreensão da Integralidade do cuidado, Conhecimento do SUS, Acolhimento, Trabalho em equipe, Equilíbrio entre as áreas clinica e preventivas. Os resultados evidenciaram que as noções acerca de integralidade trazidas pelos informantes são bem restritas, se considerarmos os complexos sentidos que a literatura tem atribuído a esse princípio. Há uma valorização dos aspectos legais do SUS em detrimento dos seus princípios e formas práticas e possíveis de aplicação cotidiana. A qualidade do cuidado prestado ao usuário durante a prática curricular é influenciada pelo pouco tempo, pela alta demanda e pela supervalorização da técnica. Ficou evidente também uma desvalorização do trabalho em equipe, à medida que cada profissional oferece a sua assistência dentro do campo de conhecimento que possui, e ainda haver no curso um enfoque mais acentuado na saúde coletiva, o que leva a formação de profissionais pouco qualificados para atuar na área hospitalar. Esses achados nos remete a refletir, que devemos rever e aprofundar as práticas didático-pedagógicas que vem sendo utilizadas no processo de formação profissional para o setor saúde, no sentido de que estas tem se dado de maneira tradicional, pontual e desarticulada do contexto social, com poucas possibilidades de formar sujeitos com capacidade crítica e propositiva para atuarem nos espaços sociais, para transformar a organização das práticas e construir serviços institucionais que visem a consolidação de políticas sociais mais universalizantes, justas e integrais. / Salvador

Bakgrund och problemformulering: Efter att vi båda har arbetat inom hälso- och sjukvård i över 10 år som fysioterapeuter har vi ofta stött på och blivit medvetna om att många sjuksköterskor uppger att dom har fått arbetsrelaterad ohälsa på grund av ökad stress i sitt yrke som gett varierande psykiska och somatiska symtom med påföljande sjukskrivningar som följd. Det har i ett flertal fall lett till att sjuksköterskan inte har kunnat fortsätta arbeta som tidigare och i vissa fall fått byta karriär eller ofrivilligt gå ner i arbetstid för att orka med. Vi har uppmärksammat att det gäller både sjuksköterskor som arbetat många år i yrket och de som endast arbetat i ett till ett par år. Syfte: Undersöka bakomliggande faktorer till utveckling av fatigue hos sjuksköterskor. Metod: Litteraturstudie enligt Fribergs (2017) modell. Resultat: Det är ett flertal orsaker som ligger bakom utvecklingen av fatigue. Organisationen och ledningen har visats ha betydelse för hur väl individen hanterar sitt arbete vad gäller logistik, rutiner, schemaläggning och bemanning. Den psykosociala miljön är viktig för att sjuksköterskan ska känna sig trygg och få stöd och uppleva trivsel i sitt arbete. En allt tyngre omvårdnad på grund av äldre och mer sjuka patienter på vårdavdelningarna är en annan bidragande orsak. Individens personliga egenskaper såsom erfarenhet, ålder och den privata familjesituationen är viktiga för hur en hög arbetsbelastning kan hanteras. Diskussion: Det ligger i både arbetsgivarens och individens intresse att i tid upptäcka när arbetssituationen inte längre är hälsosam. Arbetsgivaren kan skapa kontrollfunktioner för att upptäcka arbetstagares nivå av stress och behov av återhämtning innan det går så långt att sjuksköterskan måste sjukskriva sig.

A nursing research is an integral part of the nursing. An implementation of research activities in this field makes a basis for an improving of the nursing care and a development of the discipline itself. For nurses working in a clinical department who should carry out research investigations, there is important a knowledge how to conduct investigations and a support from the hospital management. Without this support they could not put the research results into practice which is currently based more on standard procedures. A theoretical part of the thesis deals with the nursing research, research concepts and its historical development. Then it also discusses ethical principles of the nursing research, nurses´ fundamental roles, evidence-based activities, opportunities of the research funding in the Czech Republic and an evaluation of a scientific work. An aim of the thesis was to establish the awareness, participation and interest of the primary and secondary level management in the nursing research. We have identified four hypotheses which we verified by a quantitative survey. H1: More general nurses with a higher education participate in the nursing research than the nurses who are graduates of the secondary medical school. H 2: General nurses-managers who completed a university education are better prepared for an implementation of the nursing research than nurses-managers with the secondary education. H3: The primary and secondary level nursing management of Hospital in České Budějovice participate in the nursing research more than the management from other hospitals in the South Bohemian Region. H 4: The nursing management which is involved in the nursing research apply the research results into practice. The quantitative survey was made by a questionnaire technique. The research sample consisted of nurses working on the positions of the secondary and primary level managers in the inpatients departments of hospitals in the South Bohemian Region. The investigation was conducted in eight hospitals in the South Bohemian Region. It is possible to say, that the awareness of the nursing research is on a good level, nearly half of the nurses monitor and apply the information and the research results in their clinical practice as well as most nurses are ready to implement either a simple research survey or to participate in the research under a guidance or to prepare and implement an independent research project. We believe that the nurses should be interested in the nursing research, but not as a part of their normal duties which they have in their workplace. For a development in the nursing field it is necessary to increase a further awareness of the nursing research and to encourage the nurses so that they should be interested to conduct this research. Results of the survey will be sent to the primary nurses/directors of the nursing in all of the addressed medical facilities. They may also serve as a basis for further research investigations. The lecture on the topic: ?The importance of the nursing research in the nurse´s work? will serve to raise the awareness of the nursing research.
