Defesa: Curitiba,02/04/2013 / Bibliografia: fls. 117-124 / Resumo: Nesta tese objetivamos primeiramente definir a egiptomania e o grande quadro que ela compõe na contemporaneidade, a forma como o Antigo Egito entrou no Brasil e ainda a pluralidade temática e de formas de manifestação em terras brasileiras. Em seguida, mapeamos o campo dos usos do passado como uma necessidade de orientação temporal e forma de se relacionar com o tempo transcorrido comum às sociedades. Desta forma, no amplo panorama de usos, inserimos a egiptomania. Após essa abordagem, fizemos um recorte preciso de estudos a partir do Museu Egípcio e Rosacruz, na cidade de Curitiba, Paraná/Brasil, entendendo a Ordem Rosacruz como apropriadora de conhecimentos sobre o Antigo Egito, portanto inserida entre instituições que fazem usos do passado egípcio. Assim, no espaço da Ordem constrói-se o Museu Egípcio e Rosacruz, que por meio de suas exposições didaticamente suscita conhecimento sobre o Antigo Egito e possibilita um cenário propício a se pensar sobre sentimentos dos visitantes em acervos sobre antiga civilização. Por fim, identificamos que sentimentos os visitantes manifestam a respeito do Antigo Egito mediados pelo MERC. Deve-se compreender a partir do conjunto de sentimentos manifestos, a base que possibilita a Egiptomania como uso do passado presente em nossa sociedade. / Abstract: In this thesis we aim, foremost, define the egyptomania and the great picture that it represents in the contemporaneity, the way that the Ancient Egypt was introduced in Brazil and further the plurality of themes and manifestation forms in Brazilian lands. Then, we mapped the field of the uses of the past as a need of temporal orientation and way to relate the elapsed time common to societies. Therefore, in the broad panorama of uses, we insert the egyptomania. In the sequence, we made a precise snip of studies from the Rosicrucian and Egyptian Museum (REM), in Curitiba, Paraná/Brazil, understanding the Rosicrucian Fraternity as appropriating of knowledge about Ancient Egypt, therefore, inserted between institutions that make use of the Egyptian past. Thus, in the Fraternity's space is built the Rosicrucian and Egyptian Museum, which through its exhibitions didactically raises knowledge about Ancient Egypt and provides a favorable scenario to think about the feelings of visitors collections of this ancient civilization. Finally, we identified which feelings the visitors manifested about Ancient Egypt by MERC. Should be understood, from the set of manifested feelings, the basis that allows the egyptomania as a use of the past present in our society.

Para tanto, fizemos uso de farta documentação arquivística, iconográfica e do levantamento métrico arquitetônico do edifício. O trabalho procurou, ainda, estabelecer relações com os demais mosteiros beneditinos do planalto paulista e do litoral brasileiro / Abstract: This work is aimed at contributing to study of the monastic architecture's stenography in Brazil, offering a storic and architectonic analsys of the Sorocaba Saint Benedict monastery, in the State of São Paulo, during the seventeenth, eigthteenth and nineteenth centuries. We use thus a large archivistic and iconographie documentation and we carried out also an architectonic survey of the building. This re-composition process is introduced due to the emergence of the individualism exists in the Women Religious Life. Institutional mechanisms lose legitimation power on the members while these enlarge the margin of freedom and autonomy. This context allows to build more equalitarian relationships, opens space for the difference and the plurality where women are more attentive to their subjectivity and needs. The relationships are elaborated from the individual experience and the subjects of the group who interact to each other, so as to broaden the society to form a sense and action. A dialectic accompanies this process in formation and the constant effort makes the building up of communities possible who try to establish a balance between the individual accomplishment and the common commitment through co-operation, dialogue and by overcoming of conflicts. This work discourses by the relationships that establishes between individual and community in areas of power, action and daily religious living / Congregações religiosas femininas experimentam uma recomposição no contexto da modernidade contemporânea mediante a emergência do individualismo. Estabelece-se novas teias de sociabilidade entre o indivíduo e as formas de vida e de ação comuns. Mecanismos institucionais perdem poder de legitimação sobre os membros enquanto estes ampliam a margem de liberdade e autonomia. Esse contexto permite a construção de relações mais igualitárias, abre espaço para a diferença e a pluralidade onde mulheres estão mais atentas a subjetividade e as necessidades próprias. As relações são elaboradas a partir da experiência individual e grupal dos sujeitos que interagem entre si e com a sociedade a fim de construir o sentido e a ação. Uma dialética acompanha este processo em formação e o constante esforço torna possível a construção de comunidades que procuram estabelecer um equilíbrio entre a realização individual e o compromisso comum mediante cooperação, diálogo e superação de conflitos. Este trabalho discorre sobre as relações que se estabelecem entre indivíduo e comunidade em áreas de poder, ação, cotidiano e vivência religiosa
