With Taiwan¡¦s accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), foreign-based oil manufacturers will join, in succession, the motor oil market in Taiwan. This will definitely push further the competition for business that has been made intense by a large number of domestic manufacturers. Therefore, it will be necessary to analyze consumers¡¦ behavior in buying motor oil in order to promote and sell this product.
This research examined consumers¡¦ sex, age, education, occupation, and monthly income and investigated whether differences in these factors would lead to significant differences in suggestions and perception, in methods of collecting information and the degree of involvement in the evaluation of plans, and in post-purchase satisfaction and loyalty of reference groups related with motor oil products and prices under different situations. Drivers of small cars registered with Kaohsiung County and Kaohsiung City were, based on convenient sampling, taken as the subjects that received questionnaire survey. The collected data underwent statistical procedures and analysis, and conclusions and suggestions were drawn and put up to be adopted by concerned enterprises to maintain their market shares and even enhance their competitive edge.
The research has obtained findings and offered suggestions that follow:

¡]¤@¡^¡BFemales are more likely than their male counterparts to purchase products at
bargain prices, and when they are satisfied with the quality of a motor oil
product, they are more likely to purchase the same product in the future.
¡]¤G¡^¡BConsumers younger than 30 are more likely to purchase products at bargain
prices and more heavily influenced by price suggestions offered by others.
¡]¤T¡^¡BConsumers with college or graduate education are more heavily susceptible
to positive remarks than to negative remarks. These consumers consider
products to be better in quality if their manufacturers provide better product
information. They are more likely to buy motor oil products that have
been advertised and promoted in humorous term
¡]¥|¡^¡B Consumers that are engaged in manufacturing have better chance to
purchase products at bargain prices. They are more likely to purchase the
products that they have used and felt good about the quality and price. On
the other hand, if they are not satisfied in these two areas, they will be very
likely to switch to other products.
¡]¤¡^¡BIn purchasing a motor oil product at bargain prices, consumers with low
income are more concerned about the evaluation of this product after using
it.
¤G¡BSuggestions:
¡]¤@¡^¡BOil manufacturers should enhance their R & D capability, increase the
popularity of their products, appeal to customers in humorous ways, and
pack products properly and offer them at competitive prices.
¡]¤G¡^¡BOffer various sources of information about products to which consumers
have easy access, and gain consumers¡¦ satisfaction with product quality
and price so as to win their loyalty.

Due to the trend of economic globalization, the new challenge that companies are facing when pursuing growth is the need of internationalization talented persons. To maintain the best competitiveness of organization, the key point lies in looking for the most talented employee. How to choose talented persons multi-nationally and how to train internationalization talented persons is one of the keys for the existence of modern enterprises. The ¡§Expatriate¡¨ so called in this study means the one sent by the company to work in the country or area outside homeland. They are likely to be employees with the nationality of their parent company or third country. However, they must be the appropriate and trustworthy middlemen chosen by their parent company. How do enterprises choose such expatriates? What kind of characteristics should successful expatriates have in competence for their tasks? Herein, this study starts from personality and targets on expatriates to probe into the relationship among personality, cultural intelligence and entrepreneurship.
The raw data for further research has 2 parts: pre-survey and formal survey. While Convenience Sampling Method was taken, the researcher picked particular interviewees, delivered the questionnaires, and invited for more interviewees to join. Since the objects are geographically wide-spreaded among the world, the survey forms were distributed through the Internet. 260 copies were sent, and 230 recovered. 88% recovery rate has been obtained. Through the statistics methodology, the variables were defined and calculated. The internal relationships among the variables were explored through tools of descriptive statistics, Pearson analysis, SEM model and Variance analysis.
The conclusions are as following:
1. There is a positive and significant correlation between the personality and Cultural Intelligence. Stronger ¡§Extraversion¡¨ personality has highest CQ. Comes the ¡§Openness to Experience,¡¨ then the ¡§Agreeableness¡¨.
2. It is obviously positive and significant correlation between personality and entrepreneurship. People with strong ¡§Openness to Experience¡¨ attitude bear stronger willness and capability on entrepreneurship. Follows the ¡§Extraversion,¡¨ then the ¡§Agreeableness¡¨.
3. CQ is obviously positive and significant correlated to entrepreneurship. People with higher CQ bears better capability on entrepreneurship.
4. The study also discovered that the personality has obvious positive influence on entrepreneurship, directly and indirectly. That is, the personality of dispatched personnel would enhance individual entrepreneurship, via the interaction of higher CQ.
5. Personal attributes (e.g. gender, marital status, age, nationality, education level, reason for dispatch, company scale and industry nature) shall play a significant variant role as personality, CQ and entrepreneurship level.

Effects of Students' Characteristics and Locus of Control on Their Satisfaction with Online Distance Education ExperienceCui, Guoqiang 01 October 2013 (has links)
Online learners bring varied learning experiences depending on their different personal characteristics and traits. This descriptive and correlational study explored students\' online satisfaction in relation to their locus of control orientation and their personal characteristics including gender, age, ethnicity, and online learning experiences. Responses were collected from students in an online course at Virginia Tech. Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlations and Multiple Linear Regression methods were used to detect the correlations and analyze the relationships among different variables. Results of the study did not find correlations between students\' online satisfaction and their locus of control, as well as their personal characteristics. The results also showed that students\' locus of control and personal characteristics did not contribute to students\' online satisfaction. / Ph. D.

Individual, agency, and state economic characteristics: a comparative analysis across state-federal vocational rehabilitation agenciesChamberlain, Tawny 01 August 2018 (has links)
State federal vocational rehabilitation (VR) agencies are one of the most wide spread and oldest programs designed to help individuals with disabilities. Currently, VR agencies provide various services designed to aide individuals with disabilities obtaining and maintaining employment. Currently, VR agencies serve approximately 1 million individuals with disabilities and spend about 3 billion dollars annually. Given how large and the amount of state and federal dollars are spent on VR, it is important that the outcomes of this program are researched and evaluated.
The purpose of this study was to examine how different variables are related to VR outcomes across states. More specifically, this study utilized the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) as a framework to study how contextual factors such as personal characteristics, agency level factors, and state-economic variables impact the employment rate of three different groupings based on state VR agency performance.
This study utilized secondary data analysis to explore these relationships using the FY 2013 RSA-911 dataset was paired with the 2013 American Community Survey (ACS). Multiple regression analysis was used to investigate the relationships that exist between personal characteristics and state economic factors across the VR performance groups. Further, a hierarchical linear model (HLM) was used to investigate how the relationship between personal level characteristics and state economic variables may be influenced by investigating this data by considering the levels of the agencies.
Results of this study revealed that agency-level factors and state economic variables are important predictors of the employment rate. The final model of the HLM found that state economic variables and agency-level factors moderate the relationship between personal characteristics and the employment rate. Further, all agency-level factors and state economic variables except poverty resulted in a significant relationship regarding the employment rate. In this final model, none of the personal characteristics were significant. The results of the multiple regressions revealed different relationships exist among personal characteristics, agency-level factors, and state economic variables and employment rate given the performance group.

Expatriates are the representative of parent companies in overseas subsidiaries. Expatriates¡¦ stress would impact to both company and their personal life. To help multinational companies decrease work stress of expatriates and manage work stress problem, the objective of this research is to find personal characteristic factors affecting work stress of overseas expatriates in Thailand. The questionnaires were distributed to 120 respondents, valid samples are 105 persons. The finding shows that there is no significantly different in work stress between male and female expatriates, divorced respondents have work stress more than single and married group, elder expatriates more concern with stressors than younger expatriates, and stressor caused stressful to managers more than officers. ¡§Lack of training¡¨ and ¡§reward and compensation¡¨ are stressors respondents most concern. Therefore, supporting and training program are the things that expatriates expect from parent company. To decrease expatriates¡¦ work stress, company should provide pre and post departure program, language training program, and prepare suitable facilities to fit expatriates needs during their overseas assignments.

Abstract
According to not only the frequent communication between Mainland China and Taiwan, but also the advanced development of international enterprise, the structure of industries in Taiwan has been put into changes. The traditional industries are moving out due to the increasing cost, so that which business can stay in Taiwan ? That will be the service industry and the R&D department.
The purpose of this study is to explore the correlation among Career Anchor, Personal Characteristics, Job Satisfaction, and Turnover Intention of the managing staff in the service industry.
Based on 171 questionnaires collecting from more than 50 service companies in Taiwan, this research finds several important results.

Medical service institutions and medical service types of Taiwan have experienced fundamental changes since the implementation of national health insurance. Therefore, the organizational vision and culture of a hospital and the professional commitment of doctors are critical in the hospital¡¦s ability to survive in the existing health environment. Among these factors, organizational human resources play the most important role, and doctors constitute the foremost human resources in a hospital. In recent years, armed forces hospitals have implemented programs to trim organization, leading to the further reduction of medical physicians. Moreover, the health environment external to armed forces hospitals has changed and wooed more medical officers from these hospitals. Therefore, it is the major purpose of this research to understand how to increase organizational loyalty of military physicians.
This research examined factors that influence organizational commitment from dimensions including vision of organization, culture of organization, and career development and personal characteristics of doctors, and investigated the relationships of these dimensions with organizational commitment.
Members on the military physicians at Armed Forces Tsoying General Hospital were targeted the population, and the research has resulted in findings as follows: (1) Among personal characteristics (of military physicians), only the variables of age and seniority made significant differences to the commitment to retention in organizational commitment; only unit of work made significant differences to effort commitment; and others made no significant differences to retention and effort commitment. (2) There existed a significant positive correlation between organizational vision and commitment to organization. (3) There existed a significant positive correlation between organizational culture and organizational commitment. (4) There existed a significant positive correlation between career development of employees and commitment to organization.
This research has come up with two suggestions that follow:
I. To high-level manager of armed forces hospitals:
1. Strengthen commitment to retention of junior military physicians.
2. Enhance military physicians¡¦ participation in planning for organizational vision.
3. Assist military physicians in job and personal development planning.
II. To follow-up researchers:
1. Select different research variables.
2. Increase variable factors.
3. Draw samples from different populations.
