Opakovač pro PMR pásmo / PMR repeater

Fabián, Martin January 2010 (has links)
The main target of this work is to project and make a simple repeater working in 446 MHz tape called PMR. This repeater is made from functional station PMR and repeating program unit, which was constructed by the help of the system for recording and replaying sound. The repeater is managed by microcontroller Atmel from line AVR. The repeater records minimal and maximal temperature during its operation and its date and time is still actual thanks to transceiver DCF. It is possible to connect the transceiver with a computer by the serial link.

Spectral environment blind identification for PMR system the closer of analog receiver / Identification aveugle de l’environnement spectral au plus près de la chaine d’acquisition pour un système PMR

Grollier, Nicolas 13 November 2018 (has links)
This thesis was prepared at IMT Atlantique, in the context of the FITNESS project. This European project aims to modernize PMR (Professional Mobile Radio) radios, used by security services. The objective is to develop a new receiver compatible with the 4 European standards, while adding new features. The contributions of this thesis to FITNESS concern the backwards compatibility of the new receiver with current standards. A reconfigurable central frequency channel selection filter was used to manage this interoperability. However, it should be noted that its bandwidth is too large and that several insufficiently attenuated communication channels are present at the A/D converters input. To relax linearity constraints and digitization margins, we propose to make the receiver aware of its spectral environment. The interest of this method has been developed in a first part of this document. A method for blind detection based on the cyclostationary properties of the communication signal has been proposed. We then use this tool to detect the presence of unwanted harmonics created during non-linear operation of the receiver. We show that it is possible to detect the operating mode of the receiver before the useful signal degradation. Finally, based on the two previous studies, we propose a method to automatically adapt the parameters of the analog receiver. This proof of concept based on a feedback loop allows a significant improvement in the bit error rate while relaxing constraints at the analog level.

A study of music and/or muscle relaxation and specific participant variables and their relationship with state anxiety reduction

Connor, Pamela K., n/a January 1999 (has links)
A study was conducted to determine the relationship between three different methods of relaxation (listening to music, progressive muscle relaxation (PMR), and a combination of music listening and PMR) and state anxiety reduction (as indicated by a feeling of reduced tension for the participant, measured on a self-rating scale). The study also examined the relationship between specific variables (age, sex, music training, music preferences, familiarity with music, degree of liking for music, knowledge of, and experience in, PMR, and learning style) and response to a relaxation method. The study involved forty male and female volunteers, ranging in age from 18 - 60 years. Participants were randomly assigned to one of three experimental groups or a control group. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were used in the analysis of results. Results indicated that for the participants in this study, all methods were associated with a decrease in state anxiety, the combined methods being no more effective in achieving reduced tension levels than the independent methods. However, a significant difference was achieved between the PMR group and the control group, with the mean decrease in tension level for the PMR group higher on average than that of the control group. There was also no significant difference observed between the relaxation sessions and the controlled opportunity for social interaction, attended by all participants. Further, case studies indicated that response to relaxation methods is a highly individual one.

Gender, deprivation and health in Winnipeg

Haworth-Brockman, Margaret J 03 April 2013 (has links)
This thesis is an examination of the sex and gender differences in measures of relative deprivation for Winnipeg, Manitoba, and the value of these measures to predict health outcomes. Within theoretical frameworks of relative deprivation and intersectionality, principal component analysis was used to test nineteen different versions of a national area-based deprivation index using Census variables, for the total population and for males and females separately. Only one version of the deprivation index provided consistent factor scores, in keeping with the theoretical constructs, for the total, female-only and male-only populations for Winnipeg. Administrative health data were used to calculate area-level rates of select health outcomes and binomial negative regressions were then used to analyze whether the “best” index was predictive of health outcomes for the three populations. In regression models, only the “material” component of the deprivation index was predictive of the health outcomes, but results varied across the three populations. The application of the “best” deprivation index to health planning may depend on the health issue and the population in question. This thesis confirmed that examining the intersections of sex, gender and deprivation in population health research unmasks important differences that would otherwise be missed and could have implications in health planning.

NANOMECHANICAL CHARACTERIZATIONS OF HIGH TEMPERATURE POLYMER MATRIX COMPOSITE RESIN: PMR-15 POLYIMIDE

Jones, David C. 01 January 2009 (has links)
High Temperature Polymer Matrix Composites (HTPMCs) are widely used by the aerospace industry today because of their high specific strengths, light weight, and the ability to custom tailor their mechanical properties to individual applications. Because of the harsh environmental conditions these materials experience during service use, these composite structures are susceptible to a high rate of thermo-oxidative degradation that ultimately causes premature failure in service. The current knowledge base is lacking in the fundamental spatial variability of the constituent materials upon aging, which precludes composite developers from predicting lifetime mechanical properties of the composites in use. The current study summarizes state of the art techniques in characterizing the thermally oxidized matrix resin system (PMR-15 polyimide), and develops novel techniques in direct mechanical measurement of the spatial variability of mechanical properties. Works to date and future advances in the field with respect to in situ testing are presented.

Spectroscopic studies of some heterocyclic hydrazones and their metal complexes

Mortimore, Graham Roderick January 1972 (has links)
The PMR spectra of the two isomers of pyridine-2-aldehyde=2'-pyridyl hydrazone in carbon tetrachloride, dimethyl sulphoxide, and benzene solutions have been studied. Specific associations between PAPHY molecules and solvent molecules have been proposed to account for the observed solvent shifts. Dilution studies have shown that there are PAPHY-PAPHY molecular associations in solution. In the E-isomer these are of the n-donor type involving the lone pair electrons of the ring nitrogen atoms, whereas the Z-isomer association is a dipole-dipole interaction involving the aldehyde ring of different PAPHY molecules. Evidence from long range coupling shows that the uncomplexed E and Z-PAPHY molecules possess a different configuration to the complexed molecules. The chemical shift changes on isomerisation of the E to Z-isomer have been measured and those for the aldehyde ring are consistent with the withdrawal of charge from this ring via the nitrogen atom. Metal complexes of the two isomers of PAPHY have been prepared and their PMR spectra studied. The chemical shifts changes on complex formation have been interpreted in terms of the variation in magnetic anistropy of the ring nitrogen atoms in the ligand molecule and the degree of back donation of d-electrons from the metal atom.
