Autentiseringsmetoder i trådlösa nätverk : Jämförelse av autentiseringsportaler i öppna trådlösa nätverk

Modig, Dennis January 2011 (has links)

Complex Transformative Portal Interaction

Tillman, Markus January 2015 (has links)
Context. A portal in computer graphics is an opening which connects two spaces together. Portals can be used for occlusion culling for indoor environments or wormhole-like effects. This thesis address the latter and focus on how objects interact with such portals. Objectives. The objectives are to provide a solution to how objects can interact with complex portals in real-time with focus on visual (and physical) correctness and also present a background to how simple and complex portals work. Methods. A hybrid approach of a geometry and image technique is used to render portals. Intersection techniques and a technique related to constructive solid geometry is used to solve object-portal interactions. The research methodology used is implementation and simple analysis of the results is performed. Results. The results show that the implementation of the object-portal interaction scales exponentially. In the worst case it has a complexity of O(n² * m²) where n and m are the number of triangles in the object and portal respectively. Increasing the number of triangles in the object shape is more costly than increasing the number of triangles in the portal shape by the same amount. The results were not compared to previous knowledge as no results have been published of other object-portal interaction methods. The rendering of portals scales linearly with the number of triangles used to represent it. Conclusions. This thesis extends the state-of-the-art portal rendering system and adds a solution to object-portal interaction of complex shapes. It also provides a detailed background into the fundamentals of portals and their nature. The thesis is of interest to those who want object-portal interaction of both simple and complex portals used in gameplay and special effects without restriction on portal placement and shape, with the exception that portals may not have holes in their shape in the direction an intersecting object is moving.

Die ontwerp van 'n webportaal vir akademici (Afrikaans)

Pienaar, Heila 20 March 2003 (has links)
A web portal can be defined as a Web site for a specific audience that aggretates an array of content and provides a variety of services including search engines and directrories, news, e-mail, chat rooms and online shopping. This study investigates the factors that must be considered during the design of a web portal for academics. Guidelines for the design of such a portal were developed on the basis of a literature study and an empirical study. A web portal for academics must support their personal management of academic information and knowledge. Personal interviews were conducted with academics in order to identify the content, functions, appearance and value of an academic portal. / Dissertation (MEd)--University of Pretoria, 2004. / Humanities Education / Unrestricted

Liferay Portal z pohledu vývojáře / Liferay Portal from developer´s perspective

Herain, Vít January 2015 (has links)
The topic of this thesis is Liferay Portal, which is a technology based on Java programming language and portlet applications. The technology is not well known among developers despite of the fact that the usage of this technology is quite common in the commercial sphere. The main aim of the thesis is to create a suite of procedures and hints in order to facilitate portlet development for beginners, who are planning to use technologies Spring framework and AngularJS. The secondary objectives include defining the paradigm related to portlet development, analysing portal specifics and its benefits, describing the Liferay Portal from different viewpoints, to compare Liferay to competitive solutions and finally creation, de-velopment and documenting of the application composed of 2 portlets. The main functio-nality of these portlets is Personal Financial Management. Aims were achieved by obtaining information from the community of developers and from sources listed in the bibliography. Information obtained in the area of development was empirically verified using the developed application. There is a proposed procedure in the thesis in case of using the AngularJS technology in the area of portlet development and common issues related to this usage. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with portals as such, mentions the market share, Java Portlet Specifications (JSR-168 and JSR-286) and defines the portlet development paradigm. The practical part of the thesis documents basic procedures necessary for portlet development with the option of using of AngularJS fra-mework and finally it documents the developed application from perspectives of the design and usage. The added value of this thesis is the intelligible guide how to start with development of portlets for Liferay Portal. The most important benefit is the guide created to simplify the usage of the AngularJS framework on the client side of the portlet (in the browser), becau-se usage in the common manner is not possible. The outcome and also the benefit is also the created application, which can be used in order to manage user´s expenses and incomes and which has already been used by the author for this purpose.

Analytické portály, jejich role v podniku a kritéria pro jejich tvorbu a provoz / Analytical portals, their role in running the company and the criteria for their development and operation

Bartoš, Petr January 2008 (has links)
The dominant trend of the current corporate information systems is undoubtedly a growing emphasis on information and their quality. But quality is not the only crucial factor. No less important is speed and flexibility of information acquisition. Due to a dynamic environment in which today's corporation must survive, even the high-quality information are very quickly getting older, lose their value and reduce the competitive advantage the company which manages them. This thesis deals with the analytical portals, which significantly improve work with information and are used largely in modern enterprises. The work consists of two main parts, theoretical and practical. Theoretical part tries to explain what exactly the term "analytical portal" means and what is the role of analytical portal in reference to the company management procedures and existing information systems. In addition to this introduction, theoretical part also contains instructions on how to evaluate the analytical portals. This guidance includes both the various aspects of which you can evaluate the portal and the proposal of possible way of processing results, so they could be used for an objective comparison of more competing products. The practical part contains a practical example of evaluation of specific product. This evaluation is based on the basis of the use of specific tool for creating analytical portal as the implementation of demonstration example, as well as the use of theoretical background as defined in the previous section. In addition to a general introduction to the problems of analytical portals, work may also serve as a basis for the creation of a specific methodology for evaluating different products on the market.

Development and assessment of new technology for variceal bleeding

Ibrahim, Mostafa 26 February 2020 (has links) (PDF)
Acute variceal bleeding (AVB) is the most dramatic complication of portalhypertension. It occurs in one-third of cirrhotic patients with varices and causes70% of all upper gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding episodes in cirrhotic patientsresulting in major morbidity and mortality despite improvements in primaryprophylaxis and management of acute bleeding episodes over the past threedecades. The best strategies for management of AVB have been investigated innumerous clinical trials and this has led to multiple guidelines. Endoscopicmanagement combined with pharmacotherapy is the ideal strategy to controlvariceal bleeding, but this can be challenging. Bleeding may be difficult to identifyor may occur from sites that are difficult to approach. A trained multidisciplinaryteam consisting of endoscopists, hepatologists, and specialized nurses as well asinterventional radiologists is required to administer the ideal treatment for AVB.However, this setup is not available everywhere. Early management of AVB ismandatory within 24 hours of admission and better outcomes are reported in thosepatients who receive endoscopic therapy within 12 hours. Although this is stillcontroversial, it seems to be increasingly obvious that earlier hemostasis leads tobetter outcomes. In practice, treatment for AVB is often delayed by a lack of expert endoscopists. Therefore, having a simple endoscopic hemostatic technique that does not requirean experienced team could have a major impact on AVB management.Hemospray powder (Hemospray, TC-325; Cook Medical Inc. Winston-Salem, NC,USA) is an FDA-approved organic powder made from a proprietary mineral blend. The material works in two different ways: as a mechanical barrier and byabsorption. When in contact with the bleeding site, the powder forms a barrier over6the vessel wall, quickly stopping the bleeding. In addition, the absorbent powderincreases the local concentration of clotting factors and enhances clot formation.Previous studies described Hemospray as a simple and feasible new modality forobtaining rapid hemostasis of peptic ulcer bleeding during gastrointestinalendoscopy, either as primary treatment or as a salvage indication. The work presented here evaluated the safety, feasibility, clinical efficacy, andpotential outcome benefits of applying this hemostatic powder early in themanagement of AVB, as a potential new clinical indication. We have performedour research in three phases, starting with a safety study on AVB that originatedfrom esophageal varices and two case reports on portal hypertension-relatedbleeding. This was followed by an efficacy study and then we confirmed our datain a randomized controlled study where we observed a potential impact on survival, opening the door to additional clinical investigations. The aim of the research was to investigate the concept of treating portalhypertension-related AVB with early endoscopic hemostasis using a novelhemostatic powder which can be applied without the need for a skilled team.We showed that this easy-to-perform technique, in a novel indication, is indeed safeand effective when added to the gold standard of care for AVB and can improveendoscopic and clinical hemostasis, providing easier elective treatment with lessneed for experienced teams. An effect on mortality was also observed in therandomized controlled study as a secondary outcome measure. The next step is to design a study focused on survival, perhaps with a simplifieddesign in which the spraying catheter can be used without the need for endoscopyor sedation. Another interesting future investigation will be to design a study thatcompares two groups with early powder application that are randomized within 247to 48 hours either to elective endoscopic treatment or a transjugular intrahepaticportosystemic shunt (TIPS) procedure. This would allow us to learn whether thisnew therapeutic approach impacts the need for early TIPS placement in severe casesof AVB. / Doctorat en Sciences biomédicales et pharmaceutiques (Médecine) / info:eu-repo/semantics/nonPublished
