The present research focuses on investigating the relationship between the prior knowledge of personality traits information and negotiation styles supported by the web-based Negotiation Support System (NSS) and the negotiator's perceptions of the usefulness of the SAN and ease of use of communication mechanisms. We also investigate the influence of the perceptions of the usefulness of the NSS and the ease of use of the communication mechanisms in the satisfaction with the results achieved in the negotiation. In addition, investigations into visual recognition patterns were conducted according to the negotiation styles presented by the participants while interacting with the NSS. For this, two experiments were carried out. In the first experiment, a problem of distributive negotiation was proposed for participants. After the experiment was run, eight hypotheses tested the relationships and their mutual influences on the members of the negotiations. These analyzes were performed using the actor-partner interdependence model. As a result, the analyzes found significant effects of previous knowledge of personality traits and negotiation styles on the perception (actor effects) of the NSS's utility and the ease of use of communication mechanisms and an indirect effect on satisfaction with results achieved in the negotiation. Significant effects were also found in the relationship between opponents' perceptions (partner effects) on ease of use of communication mechanisms and prior knowledge of information about personality traits and negotiation styles, as well as their effects on satisfaction with the results achieved in the negotiation. In the second experiment, eye tracking measures were used to identify patterns of scanpath and cognitive load of the negotiators while interacting with the informational tool provided by the NSS. The results showed that the negotiators exhibited different eye movements recognizing the areas of interest of the information tool. In the same way, the negotiators presented significant differences in the cognitive load spent during the activity. These results suggest that the negotiating style presented by the negotiators may indicate a possible pattern of recognition adopted while interacting with the NSS as well as their mental effort expended in negotiation situations supported by the NSS. In addition to the results, these studies provide a new discussion about the usefulness of personality traits and negotiation styles in the field of negotiation, as well as possible market and organizational applications of the results obtained.
