The troubling negative effects of music performance anxiety (MPA) have remained less investigated under ensemble settings and with undergraduate non-music majors than under solo settings with music majors and professional musicians. This study examined the experience and prevalence of music performance anxiety in ensemble rehearsal and concert settings in 166 undergraduate non-music majors, 108 undergraduate music majors, 4 undeclared undergraduates, 9 graduate non-music majors, and 14 graduate music majors. The participants (instrumentalists and vocalists) were drawn from 10 Mid-Atlantic colleges and universities. The Kenny Music Performance Anxiety Inventory Revised (K-MPAI-R; Kenny, 2009) was administered within the last six weeks of the semester. Students reported the full range of cognitive, somatic, affective, and behavioral symptoms of MPA, with cognitive symptoms most frequently reported. The factor structure of the K-MPAI-R was found to be stable with those factor structures previously established by Kenny using elite professional musicians and tertiary-level music students. The results of a standard multiple regression conducted to identify unique predictors of MPA indicated that although depression, being an instrumentalist, being female, and having had a music performance breakdown, all made significant contributions to K-MPAI-R scores, and depression made the strongest unique contribution (beta = .42, p < 0.001). Greater self-efficacy (as indicated by higher scores on confidence statements in the K-MPAI-R) was correlated with lower MPA under both concert (r = .49, p < 0.0005) and rehearsal settings (r = .52, p < 0.0005). Students with higher depression indicator scores exhibited higher MPA than students with lower depression indicator scores (WT = 31.40, p < 0.001). Music performance breakdowns occurred more often during solos than ensemble performances and memory lapse (16.3% of all students) was cited as the leading cause of music performance breakdowns. Overall, MPA and depression indicator scores for the sample were high compared with other groups that had been previously evaluated with the K-MPAI-R and the same depression screen. Instructors should therefore be sensitive to the possibility that ensemble musicians may experience significant negative effects of MPA during both concerts and rehearsals, and apprise themselves of evidence-based treatment options and coping strategies available for MPA.

The costume designer chose to set the production in 1912, stylizing choices clothing based on period silhouettes and social research. The paper includes character analysis, research, and a discussion of the design process.

Performance anxiety affects individuals across many fields, from sports to medicine to music. Research in the area of Music Performance Anxiety (MPA) has been of particular importance to instrumental and vocal soloists and ensemble members for several decades. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, many musicians have been required to change the format and location of their performances. These adjustments, as well as musicians' existing unique characteristics and life experiences, may have impacted their experience of MPA. The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and other factors on MPA. Participants (N = 251) were recruited online via the Prolific platform, and completed an online survey containing demographic questions, a COVID impacts survey, and measures of individual characteristics (TIPI, NCS-18), mentorship experience (MFQ-9), retrospective state MPA in both 2020 and 2022 (CSAI-2R), and trait MPA (K-MPAI-R). A hierarchical regression was performed to explore if gender, age, musical experience (i.e., number of genres and instruments performed), extraversion, COVID impacts (general and musical), mentorship experience, and cognitive style predicted severity of trait MPA. Age, number of musical instruments performed, and extraversion were found to be significant predictors of trait MPA. Ultimately, this research has aimed to contextualize MPA within a national landscape significantly transformed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

This study explores how sustainable investment, which includes social, economic,and environmental sustainability, affects financial performance in Pakistan'sbanking sector. The study evaluates financial performance using ROA, ROE, NIM,and EPS using secondary data from 26 public and private banks' consolidatedfinancial statements from 2013 through 2022. The STATA-based data analysis,which employed methods including Random effect, and fixed effect, paints acomplex picture of the contribution of sustainability to company performance.Panel regression result shows that environment scores have positive and significantinfluence on ROE, ROE and negative influence on EPS. Further, results show thatsocial scores have positive effect on ROE and EPS and negative effect on ROA.Similarly, governance scores have a positive effect on EPS and negative effect onROA and ROE. The findings have implications for various stakeholders, includinginvestors, regulators, managers, and other interested parties. By implementing ESGinvestments raise awareness. By doing so, the positive influence of ESG on bankperformance can be enhanced, as individuals who prioritize environmental andsocial factors are more likely to choose these banks for their services andinvestments. It is advisable for policymakers and regulators to offer increasedsupport to enhance stakeholder awareness and encourage companies to excel in theareas of environment, social responsibility, and effective governance.

One of the main objectives of evolutionary biology is to understand the reasons behind the maintenance of individual differences in a multitude of traits that influence fitness such as locomotor performance and behaviour. Because locomotor performance sets an "envelope" within which behaviour is expressed, it is likely that a multitude of co-adaptations exists between these two suites of traits. In recent years, a growing number of studies have identified associations of different strength and directions between performance and behaviour. Two main hypotheses have received support, on one hand locomotor performance could be "co-specialized" with behaviour in a manner that behaviour reduces predation risk, such that shyer, less active, less explorative animals should be the best sprinters and the most endurant. On the other hand, locomotor performance could "compensate" for behaviours that lead to increased predation risk, in a way that bolder, more active and explorative animals should be able to sprint faster and for longer. In my thesis I provide a review of published studies that successfully identify associations between locomotor performance and behaviour and classify each association as supporting the co-specialization or compensation hypothesis respectively. I further elaborate on the importance of using repeated measurements and (co)variance partitioning when studying correlations between labile traits. I also discuss one of the main challenges that comes with studying locomotor performance, namely the importance of the variation in motivation, both methodologically, by using different performance tests, but also physiologically, by using blood corticosterone measurements as indicators of such variation.

In the Fall of 2021, I served as the dramaturge for the Loyola Marymount campus productions of Anna Deavere's Smiths, "Twilight Los Angeles," Brandon Jacob Jenkins, "Everybody "and Melanie Marnich's "These Shining Lives." One can't ignore the distinct and separate story designs of these plays. "Twilight Los Angeles" is a verbatim theatre style, with an arrangement of monologues. "Everybody" is a modern-day morality play with a lottery. "These shining lives" is a period piece set as a docudrama. My process for this thesis will be a reflective and experiential study on performing the role of the dramaturg for these three different plays. After this research, I plan to have three dramaturg portfolios documenting the three different experiences. This research will assist future artists towards understanding how dramaturg research aids in creating the world of the show; therefore, helping with better communication and collaboration amongst the production team. The outcome will be examining how these three various productions have prepared me to perform the role of dramaturge as a future theatre arts faculty member.
