Directionnalités dans la musique d'Ivan Fedele

Gervasoni, Arturo 28 June 2007 (has links) (PDF)

THE SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS AT BELLEVUE BAPTIST CHURCH AS A MODEL OF THE CHURCH-BASED ARTS ACADEMY

Kim, Hae Eun 16 May 2014 (has links)
ABSTRACT THE SCHOOL OF PERFORMING ARTS AT BELLEVUE BAPTIST CHURCH AS A MODEL OF THE CHURCH-BASED ARTS ACADEMY Hae Eun Kim, D.M.A. The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, 2014 Chair: Dr. Esther R. Crookshank The School of Performing Arts founded at Bellevue Baptist Church in Cordova, Tennessee is one of most successful examples of a church-related music academy in a Protestant or evangelical church in the United States. This dissertation is a study of its history and development from its founding in 1984 through the present in order to understand how a church-based music academy may be successfully operated. The methodology draws on interviews of prominent individuals in the School of Performing Arts and primary source documents related to the operation of the school since its founding. Chapter 1 establishes the historical background of the Academy in the larger context of church music education in the United States since the nineteenth century and specifically in Southern Baptist church life after 1941, when the denomination's Church Music Department was created. This chapter gives an overview of the leaders, philosophies, and objectives of church music education in the Southern Baptist Convention by decade. Chapter 2 documents the origins, philosophy, and development of the overall music ministry of Bellevue Baptist Church and the rise of its tradition of excellence in music education and performance. Since its founding, the School of Performing Arts has advanced the goals of family-based church ministry through the intentionally intergenerational nature of its ensembles. Chapter 3 traces the history of the School of Performing Arts in two periods: 1984-2004 and 2005 through the present, corresponding with the school's changes of name. From Performing Arts Center (1984-2005) to School of Performing Arts (2005-present), the name was changed in order to reflect more accurately the mission and goals of the applied music program at BBC: teaching people to praise God with instruments and voice. The conclusion, chapter 4, seeks to identify key factors and principles in the school's success and longevity despite the shift in recent years away from orchestral worship music in many Southern Baptist churches. This chapter also addresses possible applications of the Bellevue model to evangelical churches in Korea, many of which have extensive church music programs but lack educational programs, especially for instrumental music instruction, found in the American Southern Baptist model.

Learning to dance while becoming a dancer: Identity construction as a performing art

Caudill, Matthew A 01 June 2005 (has links)
In a university undergraduate dance department, students seem to be learning more than pirouettes and pas de bourees; students are learning how to construct their identities and present themselves as 'dancers'. As they progress through their undergraduate careers, the students are not only developing technical skills, but they are also learning the ins and outs of how dancers look, speak and behave. Based on three months of observation and in-depth interviews, it seems that developing into a dancer requires developing into an individual who shows unique commitment both to him/herself and to the art of dance itself. While many of the students enter the university focused on increasing their technical prowess measured in terms of turning ability, elevation in leaps, and flexibility, the older students in the program seem to be focused more on finding their own - individualized - standards of excellence, which frequently have little to do with technical 'tricks'.

Utilizing TAGteach to Enhance Proficiency in Dance Movements

Quinn, Mallory Joanne 01 January 2013 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to evaluate TAGteach as a training procedure to increase the fluency of three dance movements in a multiple baseline across behaviors design with 4 students of dance. Target behaviors included a pirouette/turn, kick, and a leap/jump, respective of the level of the class. A dance instructor was trained to implement the TAGteach procedure by the primary researcher. The targeted dance movements remained at a stable level during baseline and improved sequentially for each participant following the introduction of the TAGteach training. Implications for future research are discussed.

Welthagen, Lisa Charmaine. January 2013 (has links)
M. Tech. Tourism and Hospitality Management / Events, specifically festivals, have experienced significant growth in South Africa over the past ten years in size, numbers, diversity and popularity. There is a growing need in the broader social circles to embrace various forms of art and to create the opportunity to celebrate culture. For this reason Arts festivals have become a feature in the South African cultural landscape. The long term success and sustainability of these events rely on aggressive marketing and emphasis on service quality, thereby highlighting sustainability of festivals and events through service quality. The questionnaire, based on the SERVQUAL model and an adaption of Grönroos was used to identify service perceptions and expectations of service quality at Innibos National Arts Festival in Mbombela, South Africa. This study aimed at quantifying the gap between attendee's expectations and perceptions of service quality and overall customer satisfaction. This study aims to assist the Management of Innibos and other arts festivals to improve the service quality and meet the expectations of their customers.
