”JAG VILL BLI TÄT OCH KÄND” - EN INNEHÅLLSANALYS OM VARFÖR TVÅ PODCASTS PODCASTAR

Skärberg, Malin, Tepliakova, Julia January 2018 (has links)
In this study we will attempt to find the reasons why two of the biggest podcasts in Sweden actually is podcasting. The Spirit In The Law Podcast: Testing the Democratization and Audience Behavior of New Media Broadcasting

Lunt, Scott Lin 19 March 2007 (has links) (PDF)
This project summary presents the details of a podcast project conducted from April to December of 2006. The project consisted of the creation of a new Internet-based audio interview show entitled Spirit In The Law. The interviews were delivered to listeners who requested the shows via the Internet, and were available to a targeted audience of law students in the United States and abroad. The show featured interviews with 20 notable attorneys and professionals who answered questions regarding spiritual values in their professional practice. The project was informed by two theoretical frameworks: New Media theory and Situational Theory of Publics. The results, when applying both theoretical frameworks, were mixed. While podcasting did demonstrate universality, it was hindered by the complexity of traditional radio production roles. Similarly, it was useful to use the Situational Theory of Publics to help to conceptualize audiences in groups, but the goals of moving the groups into activity were not completely achieved. The main objective for the project was to understand more about the opportunities and obstacles of the new communication technology of podcasting.

Manager Tools Podcast: A Study of Podcasting's Effectiveness with Profit Potential

Beal, Quincy Frodesen 04 December 2008 (has links) (PDF)
This thesis seeks to understand further the effectiveness and profit potential of podcasting. The study combines the theories of uses and gratifications and subjective theory of value to create a model for podcasting's value. The model is put to the test using the Manager Tools podcast as the subject. Data suggest the three main drivers behind perceived podcast effectiveness are pleasure, habit, and information gathering. Relaxation proved to have a negative influence on perceived effectiveness. The audience's willingness to pay was determined by perceived effectiveness, scarcity, and habit. Though not a generalizable study, the conclusion discusses the findings' implications on the podcasting community.

Podcast Social Marketing: : “Selling Integration like soap” / Podcast Social Marknadsföring: : “Sälja Integration Som Såpa”

Dehqan, Agri January 2017 (has links)
To identify key issues concerning the use of Swedish Radio’s podcasts as a vehicle for social marketing to promote integration, a thematic analysis was conducted on podcasts published by the Kurdish department of Swedish Radio (SR) during one week. From a total of 37 published podcasts which were analyzed during the chosen time frame, three central themes were identified: (a) crime and criminality, (b) incidents and events related to different municipalities and at state level in Sweden at the time, and (c) issues related to refugees and immigration in Sweden. Each of these central themes comprised sub-themes, which provided further insights into the type of topics the Kurdish department of SR discussed during the one-week time span. Data from this study suggests that although SR Kurdish has the means to be used as a social marketing tool to promote integration in Sweden, this potential is far from being fully utilized.

“TOWARD ADIPOSITIVITY”: THE DEVELOPMENT OF FAT ACTIVISM IN INDIAN MASS COMMUNICATION FROM FILM TO PODCASTING

MITTAL, DIKSHA 01 August 2023 (has links) (PDF)
The phrase, “Toward Adipositivity” in my title is derived from an episode of the Indian fat-activist podcast, Fat.So? (2019-2022). Photographer Substantia Jones presents her fat-activist artwork, “The Adipositivity Project.” Her method involves photographing revealing, sometimes nude, pictures of fat women, and then posts them to the Internet. Jones’ goal is to reclaim the pejorative connotations associated with the word “fat,” to show that fat women’s bodies are beautiful and worthy of artistic inspiration. The arrival of fat activism in Bollywood cinema circa 2010 resulted from the 1991 neo-liberalization of India. The nation experienced a subsequent rise of feminism in civil society, and thus saw the importation of related identity political considerations from Western culture. Bollywood fat activism developed in response to almost two decades of imitating Hollywood featuring thin actresses as protagonists, while relegating fat actresses to insignificant and unattractive roles. In this dissertation, I apply Fat Studies to Bollywood and podcasting. My dissertation centers on two mass mediated sites: weight-based discrimination against women in the 2015 Bollywood film, Dum Laga ke Haisha, and the early fat-activist podcast, Fat.So?, which began in 2019. I conclude that podcasting is a more effective medium than Bollywood cinema for delivering a radical fat-activist message. The latter mass mediated form of communication represents a multiplicity of nuanced perspectives, across a wider array of the population. I employ intersectional theory to study the interaction of weight as an identity political variable with gender, class, and caste. Finally, I lay out the relationship between the fat-activist film and podcast and the recent rise of non-diet nutrition-based podcasting in India.

Critical Literacy and Podcasting in a 2nd Grade Classroom

Felderman, Carol Branigan 20 January 2011 (has links)
Research with young children, critical literacy and new technology is limited (Burnett, 2009; Carrington, 2006; Marsh, 2005.) The purpose of this study is to describe the literacies produced in a second grade classroom, through podcasting, where the teacher attempted to frame my teaching from a critical literacy perspective. The study of this classroom reveals the literacies that come within a critical literacy structure for learning as well as those developments that were significant during the classroom's creation of a podcast. Such efforts also reveal the social practices of a teacher and her students as well as the identity and positioning work of selected individuals. A case study approach was used to provide the unique details that describe the classroom experiences of students engaged in such literacy work. The information that this study provides will be useful to researchers and educators as they seek to understand the shifts and possibilities of what critical literacy involves in a second grade classroom. Key findings include changes in the children's literacy learning when engaged in critical literacy and the literacy work that occurs with the use of technology. / Ph. D.

探討Podcasting採用因素與使用行為之研究 / The Research of the Influential Factors of Podcasting Adoption and Usage Behavior

Lai,Yu-Chi Unknown Date (has links)
Podcasting is known as the most popular personal media while Blog is previously considered the most important personal media. There are many attractive traits of Podcasting including RSS, portability, personal on demand, grassroots content. Podcasting has already become a hot trend in many countries, especially in America. What will be the future of Podcasting in Taiwan? When it comes to the development of new technology, we should go back to the users’ level to find the answers. Thus this paper explores the influential factors of Podcasting users’ acceptance and their behavior. The main objects of the study are the users who only download and listen to Podcasts because they are the majority in Taiwan so far. This paper is based on UTAUT theory adding "Perceived Playfulness" and "PIIT" in an attempt to form a more perfect interpretative model to do quantitative research. To broaden the scope of the whole research, I also adopt in-depth interviews in a qualitative way. Research results show that the most important factor affecting users’ intention is "Perceived Playfulness". Regarding "Use Behavior", "Behavior Intention" is noted as the most significant factor. Based on the information gathered from the interviews, the causes which lead to influence the users’ behavior are the diversity of the content and the maturity of the platforms. What influenced podcasters making podcasts are podcasters’ personality, ease of production process, the availability of suitable bandwidth and free (or cheap) network space, music and other intellectual property issues. All factors mentioned above are important issues in the development of podcasting. Of course, Podcasting has great potential for development so we can expect that there will be multi-oriented applications in the future.
