Identifikace zdrojů hluku pomocí akustické holografie v blízkém poli / Noise Source Identification Using Nearfield Acoustical HolographyNevole, Tomáš January 2011 (has links)
This master’s thesis deals with problems of noise source identification using nearfield acoustical holography (NAH). In the beginning there is the summary of basic terms and values of a sound pressure field, which is unnecessary for understanding of the theme. In the next part the thesis continues with more detailed description of the NAH technology and the historical context of its emergence. Measurement equipment which is used for scanning of sound pressure fields is also introduced. In addition, the kinds of NAH (according the shape of the wave front) are showed and the planar NAH is descripted most closely. Because of the NAH algorithms are implemented in the wave number domain (k-space), there is also a chapter focused to this problem in the thesis. There are briefly descripted some similar methods in next chapter, like statistically optimized NAH, (SONAH) and iterative NAH with recursive filtration. The main product of the thesis is the practical part represented by testing application. That is created in the Matlab environment and is able to calculate and display hologram of the scanned array by the planar NAH method using the “k-space” filter. The application supposes a planar sound source and in other cases the accuracy of the reconstruction is not guaranteed. There are also given some holograms calculated with the application.

Testování a optimalizace iontového zdroje / Testing and optimization of an ion sourceGlajc, Petr January 2014 (has links)
A thorough description of the testing of a saddle-field ion source is presented in the diploma thesis. The most important experimental results, such as Faraday cup measurements of the ion beam current profile and of the ion energy spectra, are included. Based on these results it is shown that the optimized ion source works correctly and according to the expectations. At the end of the thesis, the development of the ion-optical and construction design of the focusing optics is described. The manufactured optics assembly attached to the ion source is also shown.

Experimentální odvlhčování a odsolování cihel, pískovců a zdiva vlivem elektrického pole / Experimental drying and desalination of bricks, sandstones and masonry under an applied electric fieldMatyščák, Ondřej Unknown Date (has links)
Dewatering and desalination of building constructions is currently a discussed topic. At the present time, different techniques for dewatering and desalination can be used. The existing methods are efficient but it is necessary to improve these methods and to develop new ones. The moisture in the building constructions is directly connected with the salts, which can be dissolved in it and together with the moisture further to move. The salts can cause damage of constructions and change mechanical and physical properties of the buildings materials. The basic demands for dewatering and desalination are the speed, efficiency and economical factors. Presented dissertation focuses on dewatering and desalination with the use of electrokinetic methods together with the technique of the clay poultices. In the first part of the thesis, basic theoretical principles of moisture and salts are described. In the second part (experimental part), the series of experimental measurements were conducted both in the laboratory and in situ. In this part of dissertation, I was dewatering and desalinating bricks and sandstones under an applied electric field. The main focus was on the optimization of a laboratory setup in order to get the highest efficiency for dewatering and desalination. Other measurements were done in situ, where the same technique was used.

Malé asynchronní motory pro specifické aplikace / Small Induction Motors for Specific ApplicationsBárta, Jiří January 2016 (has links)
The aim of this master`s thesis is to introduce the principle of construction of a single-phase shade-pole motor and its utilization in automotive industry. It is very simple motor in its structure. The position of shading ring gives us the direction of rotation. It is used mainly when low efficiency is needed, e. g. to run electrical fans, small household appliancesor. Cheap construction is its undeniable advantage.

Hodnocení fyzikálních polí v krajinné lokalitě / Evaluation of physical fields in scenic areaJílek, Michael January 2019 (has links)
The thesis is focused on gathering of theoretical backgrounds for geomagnetic measurements, measurement of electromagnetic and radiometric quantities in a natural locality, and subsequent evaluation of the obtained results from the point of view of their interrelations and in the context of hygienic regulations. All the theoretical backgrounds of each field are assigned to the measurement methodology and appropriate measuring technique, selected according to information from available sources. Appropriate instruments, landscape location, measurements were made, the results were evaluated and interpreted. The result is graphical output in the QGIS geographic information system.

Improving Stability by Enhancing Critical Fault Clearing TimeGhani, Ammara M. 25 June 2019 (has links)
The Bulk Electric System (BES) in the United States includes transmission lines of 100kV and above, transformers of 100kV and above on Low Voltage (LV) side and generating units that step up to 100 kV and above. The BES is a power network that connects different states and utility companies via tie lines for exchange of Power.
To maintain the integrity of power systems, it is very important to keep the BES intact and for that the regulatory authority, North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), has developed over 100s of reliability standards and is responsible to enforce them.
During the past several years, the U.S has experienced power system instability events in which a fault occurred on one part of a system and travelled through the entire interconnection. Some of the extreme events are a major concern for power systems in the U.S that consists of Cascading, Uncontrolled Separation and natural disasters damaging the transmission circuits.
Protection System plays important role towards the stability of power systems, but most important aspect of protection system is the Critical Fault Clearing Time. This case study focused on the Critical Fault Clearing Time enhancement by making a comparison between a Gang Operated (GO) and Independent Pole Operated (IPO) Breaker. An extreme event was considered as a fault scenario for the case study that consisted of three phase fault followed by breaker failure scenario.
PSS®E 33.9 software was used to perform dynamic study on three different power plants to show the comparison between GO breaker and IPO breaker. A tremendous improvement was achieved using IPO breaker with more than 100% increase in Critical Fault Clearing Time.
