During the past decade, significant public concern has focused on the use of the Internet to access child pornography and other legally objectionable material. Media reference to individuals involved in such activity typically portrays them as socially isolated ‘paedophiles’, ‘perverts’ and ‘sexual predators’ whose offence behaviour is encouraged by on-line associations with others who share their interest in this material. Although academic literature does not tend to adhere to the sensationalism of these views, it too suggests that on-line networks may be important in understanding the behaviour of individuals who seek to gratify an interest in legally objectionable material.A major aim of this thesis was to examine the relationship between involvement in Internet based social activity and involvement in accessing legally objectionable material via the Internet. As such, data collected during the investigation of a sample of 145 individuals identified as using the Internet to access legally objectionable material was subjected to a series of explorative analyses. These analyses revealed significant associations between individuals’ use of Internet applications facilitating directed, two way communication (eg. Email and ICQ) during the process of accessing legally objectionable material and indicators of increased personal investment in offence related activities.A second goal of this thesis was to identify variables associated with offenders’ decisions to engage in on-line social interaction during the process of accessing legally objectionable material. In turn, criminological and communications theory and research pertaining to the interpersonal behaviours that individuals engage in during criminal actions, and the characteristics of individuals who make use of socially facilitative Internet applications, was reviewed. Based on the findings of this review, it was hypothesised that offenders who engage in regular interaction with others outside of the Internet environment would be more likely than those who did not to seek out opportunities for interaction in the Internet environment. In line with this hypothesis, further systematic and detailed analysis of the data revealed an association between opportunities for interpersonal interaction in an offender’s home or work environment and the likelihood that offenders would make use of Internet applications facilitating online social interaction.

The purposes of this study are illustrated as follows: to investigate the current situation of demography, internet pornography experience, sexual attitude and behavior among senior high school students, to exam the difference and correlation of those students¡¦demography which is represented on internet pornography experience and sexual attitude, and to try to find out the variables of pornography experience and population, which could be used to predict senior high school students¡¦ sexual attitude in such environment which internet pornography overloads. The data gathered from questionnaires are analyzed by statistical methods such as frequency distributions, mean deviation, reliability analysis, factor analysis, chi-square test, t-test of dependent sample, ANOVA of dependent sample, Pearson¡¦s correlation, and the multiple regression. Results and discussion are summarized as follows: 1. There are 63.7% senior high school students have touch the internet for 5 years, and the degree increase by the years that they touched. They usually talk and make friend on the internet(78.7%) . 2. There are 71.1% senior high school students have touch the internet pornography, and that is they main way to connect the pornography. They touched it for vagary, and they touched it for one hour a day, in nine in the night to twelve in the noon. They touched it at their home. 3. The senior high school students¡¦ sexual attitude is between agree and disagree. 4. There are 10.5% students have sexual behavior, which gather 15 to 17 years old. The contraception they usually took is condom. 5. Sex, school, talking about sexual issues with friend have significant different to internet pornography experience. 6. Sex, grade, school, the school location have significant different to sexual attitude. 7.Internet pornography has different to sexual attitude. Without connecting internet pornography, connecting less time, and taking disagree option, the sexual attitude are more guard. 8.Internet pornography experience and sexual attitude have lower negative correlation. 9.Internet pornography has different to sexual behavior. The more connecting, the more frequency, and the more time cost the students have, their sexual behavior are deeper. 10.Internet pornography experience and sexual behavior have lower correlation. 11.Population and internet pornography information to sexual attitude can validly predict 12% senior high school students¡¦ sexual attitude. Le Monde a couvert un dossier sur la proximité d'un 'love-shop', "1969 Curiosités Désirables", à une école le printemps 2012. La Confédération nationale des associations familiales catholiques (CNAFC) et l’association CLER Amour et Famille avaient poursuivi le « love-shop » dans le 4e arrondissement à Paris, plaignant que la vente des sex-toys à 90 mètres d’un collège est une infraction de la loi de protection de l’enfance (2007) qui interdit à la vente des objets à caractère pornographique à moins de 200 mètres d’un ‘établissement d’enseignement'. Le dossier se concentrait sur la signification des termes qui définies les lois aussi que le genre des jouets : ce qui est pornographique, lubrique, etc. La défense, à travers un sexologue, une militante féministe, et le gérant, insiste sur la nature pragmatique et l’espèce créatif de leurs objets, insinuant que le public général et sain – les jeunes aux vieux – profite de leur industrie. « ‘Nous sommes dans une action idéologique’, a expliqué le défenseur, exprimant que « la définition de la pornographie faite par ces associations condamne en filigrane la masturbation ». Ce dossier a inspiré une enquête du plaisir de la vie privée qui, normalement clandestin, tient l’attention du public. Les sex-shops du monde ont subis une grande évolution au cours de la dernière décennie par l’obscène lubrique et vers le pudique, et même le chic. Les patrons ont changé leurs jouets, leur langage, leurs services supplémentaires, même l’emplacement de leurs magasins, tout en effet d’un nouveau sentiment de viabilité. Il semble – et ils disent – que leur but soit de recréer la sexualité féminine en haute voix de la révolution sexuelle et la libération des femmes en France. Et en réponse, ils ont gagné un fort soutient et une nouvelle clientèle par des femmes jeunes et âgées.

This thesis applies the radical feminist perspective set out by MacKinnon (1993) and Dworkin (1995), to analyze the construction of female sexuality within popular Canadian men’s pornographic magazines and non-pornographic magazines. A mixed methods approach was used to analyze the images and text within the feature articles of the selected magazines. Results revealed that women continue to be constructed as sexual objects within both categories of magazines, but the earlier link identified by MacKinnon and Dworkin between violence and sexuality was on longer apparent. Instead, women were a sexual puzzle that the magazines attempted to unpack. Rather than a strict dichotomy between pornographic and non-pornographic magazines, a continuum of grey emerged whereby the level of explicitness between the two magazines increased as the continuum progressed from left to right, thereby demonstrating the pornographication of mainstream media, as per McNair (2002).
