In this work, we analyzed the Tietê-Paraná waterway with a focus on the Port Complex of the municipality of São Simão. The main objective of this research was to analyze the functions of this important waterway for the agribusiness logistics in Goiás. The main objetives of the reserch are: diagnose the fluvial transport and intermodality in the context of grain circulation and the formation of networks; to characterize the Tietê-Paraná waterway and the São Simão Port Complex in order to identify its influence for the agribusiness in Goiás; and understand the problems / conflicts in relation to the installation and management of the waterway, as well as the actors and sectors benefited to the detriment of others. The methodological procedures were based on literature review related to transport networks and their functions, as well as the role of the waterway, its history of installation and use. In addition, the research was based on the collection of secondary and primary data, through research in publications of official bodies (ANTAQ and IBGE) and the realization of the field; which allowed a general diagnosis of the Port of São Simão and the mapping of the role played by this "node" in the Tietê-Paraná waterway. It was possible to identify the logistic importance of the waterway, especially for certain sectors - notably the agribusiness in Goiás - and the strong relationship between the transport network / waterway and the national territorial dynamics. / O modal hidroviário é uma alternativa plausível de investimento para o transporte de cargas no país e no Estado de Goiás, pois apresenta uma redução dos custos de transporte. Neste trabalho, analisamos a hidrovia Tietê-Paraná com enfoque no Complexo Portuário do município de São Simão. O objetivo central foi analisar as funções desta importante hidrovia para a logística do agronegócio em Goiás. Como principais objetivos da pesquisa têm-se: diagnosticar o transporte fluvial e a intermodalidade no contexto da circulação de grãos e a formação de redes; caracterizar a hidrovia Tietê-Paraná e o Complexo Portuário de São Simão a fim de identificar sua influência para o agronegócio goiano; e compreender as problemáticas/conflitos em relação à instalação e gestão da hidrovia, bem como os atores e setores beneficiados em detrimento de outros. Os procedimentos metodológicos basearam-se em revisão bibliográfica relacionada às redes de transportes e as suas funções, bem como o papel da hidrovia, seu histórico de instalação e uso. Além disso, a pesquisa se fundamentou no levantamento de dados secundários e primários, por meio da pesquisa em publicações de órgãos oficiais (ANTAQ e IBGE) e a realização do campo; que permitiram a um diagnóstico geral do Porto de São Simão e o mapeamento do papel desempenhado por este “nó” na hidrovia Tietê-Paraná. Foi possível identificar a importância logística da hidrovia, principalmente para determinados setores – notadamente o agronegócio goiano - e a forte relação entre rede de transporte/hidrovia com a dinâmica territorial nacional.
