Právní úprava mezinárodního rozhodčího řízení v České republice a Portugalské republice / Legal regulation of international arbitration in the Czech Republic and Portugal

Přib, Jan January 2011 (has links)
This thesis deals with legislation of international arbitration in Czech republic and Portugal. The choice of international arbitration and of these countries particularly as the object of the work has not been done coincidentally of course, the reason is, despite Czech republic and Portugal are countries with that do have a lot in common, e.g. their membership in European Union, similar economic power and current situation and relatively significant activity in international trade that the area of Portuguese legislation of international arbitration and of the whole system of law from the Czech view and vice versa remains still almost unexplored. The choice of international arbitration was not random either. Such choice was made due to the fact that arbitration is probably the most significant way of out-of-court settlement of disputes in last years and decades with use still increasing. It offers parties a private settlement of litigation with easy enforceability of rendered arbitration award abroad, and foreing arbitration award at home. Therefore, the objectives of this work were not solely to describe the present legislation of international arbitration but also to enable the reader to comprehend particular legal provisions correctly in a sense of their legal background. The work analyses the...

Political relations between Portugal and South Africa from the end of the second World War until 1974

19 May 2009 (has links)
D. Litt. et Phil. / This thesis examines the nature of the relationship that developed between Portugal and South Africa from the end of the Second World War until the 25 of April 1974, the date of the Portuguese revolution that led to Portugal’s disengagement from the African continent. It was during this period that Portugal experienced growing international hostility for wanting to retain control over her Asian and African colonies, as well as increasing internal pressure, which manifested itself in long-term insurgency wars in Angola, Mozambique and Guinea Bissau. In addition, the Portuguese authorities also experienced strong opposition in mainland Portugal against the continuation of the wars in its African territories. At the same time, South Africa was also experiencing growing opposition in the international arena as a result of its racially discriminatory legislation. In addition, there was internal pressure from anti-apartheid groups. Moreover, towards the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1970s, the South African authorities also had to deal with growing SWAPO activity in the territory that was then known as South West Africa, which is now Namibia. Although it is widely assumed that there was a straightforward alliance between the governments of both countries, the reality was much more complex than existing perceptions about this issue. The relationship that developed between the governments of both countries grew as a result of several crucial challenges such as the growing mobilization of African nationalism, as well as the acute hostility that the two countries experienced in the international arena. It must be pointed out that both countries viewed their close interaction as something that brought tangible benefits to one another. However, this did not mean that the governments of both countries always had common objectives or a common vision of how they should tackle their own problems. In fact, the two sides had serious disagreements and they developed different approaches on how to deal with internal and external pressure. In addition, the image that the two countries wanted to portray of themselves in the international arena did not usually coincide. Such different approaches effectively meant that in terms of political relations the two sides had to take into account each other’s peculiarities and way of doing things. This thesis also investigates the secret links between the two countries and why such links had to remain a secret in order to avoid external scrutiny. It follows a straight chronological order that seeks to highlight most if not all aspects that characterized political relations between the two sides as well as the existing contradictions within such a relationship. The aim of this thesis is to examine, expose, divulge and clarify what became an important informal alliance during the Cold War, as well as how the joint efforts of such an alliance played themselves out during the long counter-insurgency wars that took place in Angola, Mozambique and Guinea Bissau. The collapse of Portuguese rule in Angola and Mozambique marked the beginning of a period that led to the collapse of white rule in Rhodesia and increasing pressure on the South African military forces deployed in the former South West Africa. It is thus seen as one of the most important markers during the period that culminated in the end of the apartheid system in South Africa.

January 2012 (has links)
(Resumo completo, clicar acesso eletrônico abaixo) / Abstract: The Portuguese author Branquinho da Fonseca (1905-1974) belongs to the "Second Modernism". This Movement is related to aesthetics ideals first released by the presença, founded in 1927 by Branquinho da Fonseca, José Régio and João Gaspar Simões, in Coimbra. The most known literary production of Branquinho was the narrative, being the novel O Barão (1942) of great highlight in academia. However, the author also dedicated to the other genres of literature, such as the poem and drama; in this last field, he produced works which are still unknown or with limited studies in both Portugal and Brazil. This Doctorate Thesis is focused on retrieving part of the Fonseca that has not yet received a deep study of criticism: his drama. The dramaturgy of Branquinho da Fonseca brings our attention to taste new forms of the dramatic genre that, in his time, were not still used by the other Portuguese authors, who, most of them, kept the traditional ways of the nineteenth drama. In the beginning of twentieth century in Portugal, unlike poetry and prose that were already with vanguard exercises, the drama was still tied in conventional paradigms based on the units of action, time, space and dialogue. Branquinho da Fonseca was then responsible, with his peers Almada Negreiros and Alfredo Cortez, contribute to the renewal process of Portuguese drama - isolated from the aesthetic innovations used in the rest of Europe - that intensifies only with the democratic state consolidation and with the end of censorship. Subverting to the dominant theatral heritage, the drama of Branquinho da Fonseca provides a critical reflection on the existential and material condition of his own drama, since the author uses psychologically fragmented characters, leaves the mimetic intention of representation, breaks the genre... D. Henrique, o navegador (1394-1460): entre a memória e a história

SILVA, Milton da Aparecida e 23 November 2016 (has links)
The research analyzes the figure of Prince Henry , called the " Navigator" , and the idealization of the overseas conquests.

Pegas, Ana Paula Martins Castro January 2013 (has links)

Barros, Cristina Pinto de January 2011 (has links)
