Pela análise comparativa dos romances Ventos do apocalipse (1999) e Niketche: uma história de poligamia (2004), da moçambicana Paulina Chiziane, esta dissertação discute as representações e o papel social da mulher em romances que se pautam na intensa força das relações sociais que informam a maneira de agir de homens e de mulheres em Moçambique. Mostramos como as mulheres especialmente as moçambicanas , antes personagens majoritariamente representadas por uma construção estético-literária masculina, alcançam na escrita feminina de Paulina uma representação da mulher sobre a mulher. Assim, procuramos consolidar um pensamento crítico em torno da hipótese de investigação pela qual se efetiva no espaço literário a desconstrução da subalternidade instituída para as mulheres e enraizada na ordem capitalista patriarcal. / Through a comparative analysis of the novels Ventos do apocalipse [Winds of the Apocalypse] (1999) and Niketche: uma história de poligamia [Niketche: A Story of Polygamy] (2004), by Mozambican writer Paulina Chiziane, the present dissertation discusses the representations and the social role of women in novels based on the intense strength of the social relations that guide the behavior of men and women in Mozambique. We shall show how women especially those from Mozambique characters who used to be mainly represented by a male aesthetic-literary construction, acquire, in Paulinas female writing, a womans representation of women. Thus, we attempt to consolidate a critical thinking to support the investigation hypothesis according to which the subalternity instituted for women and rooted in the patriarchic capitalist order is deconstructed in the literary space.

Esta tese de doutoramento analisa a voz feminina que conta a guerra e as representações literárias possíveis, a partir de simbolizações de extermínio e ruptura no espaço da guerra em Moçambique. A análise será realizada por um viés comparatista, tendo em conta a circulação de repertórios literários que se realiza entre os países de língua oficial portuguesa e a perspectiva do comparatismo da solidariedade (Benjamin Abdala Junior), uma estratégia crítica para se relevar o comunitarismo cultural, de acordo com a linha de pesquisa literatura e sociedade nos países de língua portuguesa. Desta forma, buscaremos consolidar um pensamento crítico em torno da hipótese de investigação pela qual se efetiva na imagem literária a desconstrução de mitos sociais que têm sua história em termos sociais, destacando os respectivos aspectos históricos e a ascensão dos comunitarismos possíveis (de gênero, da língua, da cultura), por meio da análise comparativa dos romances A costa dos murmúrios, de Lídia Jorge (Lisboa, 1988) e Ventos do apocalipse, de Paulina Chiziane (Maputo, 1995). / Starting from the symbolizations of extermination and rupture in the space of war in Mozambique, this PhD´s thesis examines the female voice that tells war, and its possible literary representations. The analysis shall be performed from a comparative bias, taking into account the movement of literary repertoires among the Portuguesespeaking countries, also the perspective of \"comparativism of solidarity\" (Benjamin Abdala Junior) a critical strategy to reveal cultural communitarianism, according to research line Literature and Society in the Portuguese-speaking countries. Therefore, we shall seek to consolidate a critical thinking around an investigative hypothesis by which the \"deconstruction\" of social myths, that have their history in social terms, realizes itself in the literary image. The research shall highlight both the historical aspects and the rise of the possible communitarianisms (of gender, language, culture) through a comparative analysis of the novels The coast of murmurs, by Lídia Jorge (Lisbon, 1988) and Winds of the apocalypse, by Paulina Chiziane (Maputo, 1995).
