Pozitiva a negativa sociální práce u pacientů po poškození mozku z pohledu sociálního pracovníka / Positive and negative aspects of social work with patients after brain damage in terms of social worker

MANDÁTOVÁ, Kateřina January 2018 (has links)
The thesis is focused on the social work with people after brain damage and is part of the GAJU project called "Coordinated Rehabilitation of Patients after Brain Damage (Reg. No. GAJU 138/2016 / S)". Collaboration with social workers from the region of České Budějovice was part of this thesis. Their work also consists of working with people after brain damage. The purpose of the collaboration was to map out follow-up services after hospitalization of people after brain damage. Information about these organizations has been shared with the patients who were included in the GAJU project. The complex results of the project will be elaborated within the publishing activities. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts. The first - the theoretical part - is focused on the basic description of brain damage, there is more about the cerebral stroke, the coordinated rehabilitation team, the role of the social worker. There is also described the burden that the social worker as a person in the helping profession may face and burnout syndrome as a possible consequence of this burden. In the research part, the main objective was to find out what positives and negatives the social workers perceive in working with people after brain damage. This objective was completed through interviews with the social workers situated in České Budějovice. We can fully understand the extend of the social workers' work with people after brain damage thanks to the interviews. In connection with the goal, research questions have been identified: What are the positive and negative aspects of social work related to work with patient after brain damage according to the subjective opinion of a social worker? Another one: What influences the perception of positives and negatives which the social workers experience during their work? A qualitative research strategy was used, a technique of interviewing with use of instructions was chosen for the interviews with fourteen social workers of the organizations, whose target group also includes people after brain damage. Data was processed in Atlas.ti 7. The administration which is more and more demanding due to the legislation. That results in less time with client and more time with paperwork. Finance which is related to the funding of services, lack of resources for employee remuneration and the financial difficulty for clients. Lack of qualified staff, time consuming activities that are closely tied to the extensive administration and the fact that social workers often work beyond their job responsibilities and competencies. Non-cooperation of a client's family or lack of interest of family on the client, there is also the legislation, which is often in contradiction with practice according to interviews. The social workers have to follow the actual amendments of the law and that is time-consuming and exhausting, absence of follow-up organizations for patients after brain damage, lack of competencies/authority/information of social workers, insufficient motivation, lack of financial remuneration or lack of benefits for employees, conflicts with authorities, barriers that may occur during work of a social worker or insufficient resources. The analysis also reveals that social workers subjectively perceive these positives during their work with patients after brain damage: client satisfaction, helping people, the good feeling after job well done, positive feedback, fulfilling job, positive in relation to the work environment. The results of the thesis show that the positive aspects dominates over the negative ones. Work in a multidisciplinary team has been perceived positively amongst the social workers and beneficial for the clients and for the team. This work will serve as a sub-part for the elaboration of complex outcomes of coordinated rehabilitation of patients after brain damage from the GAJU project. Research results will become part of the publication outputs from the above-mentioned project.

In subsequent chapters I will focus on the pitfalls of care and the implications for caring. Next, I will dedicate the positive aspects of care. At work I will also support informal care from the state. I provide overview of options that can help them in caring for a related. At thesis I try to highlight the care provided by amateurish carers about the importance of their support and also to outline the positive aspects of care. Family carers deserve admiration. Their strength and conviction in many cases is unimaginable. Caregivers must overcome many obstacles and still manage most of the care.

Hållbarhetsredovisning och Legitimitet hos Europeiska GreenTech Bolag / Sustainability reporting and Legitimacy of European GreenTech Companies

Wasslén, Joakim, Öster, Robin January 2024 (has links)
Legitimacy is a pursuit for companies, particularly for green-tech firms aimed at alleviating market sustainability failures. The transparency surrounding negative information has been subject to disagreement in previous research. While some studies depict the communication of negative information as legitimacy-damaging, others portray it as legitimacy-building. Communication between companies and stakeholders is also pivotal in the pursuit of legitimacy. A crucial communication channel for many companies concerning sustainability is their sustainability reports. The overarching aim of this study is to understand how green-tech companies communicate sustainability to pursue legitimacy. The theoretical framework is grounded in legitimacy theory and communication strategies. To address the study's aim, a multiple case study of fourteen European green-tech companies was conducted. The results were generated through extensive content analysis of sustainability reports from the selected companies. The analysis involved coding to identify various legitimacy tactics, communication strategies, and positive and negative aspects. The findings indicate that the most utilized legitimacy tactic was future orientation, which pertains to maintaining legitimacy, suggesting that green-tech companies possess legitimacy and strive to preserve it. The study found that the most frequently used communication strategy was stakeholder involvement, indicating that green-tech companies actively engage stakeholders in their sustainability efforts. The study indicates that there is a strategic balancing of positive and negative aspects where both aspects were found, and that the tactic of manipulative persuasion was used to address negative aspects with positive ones.

Kvalita života lidí, kteří pečují o svého blízkého s demencí v domácím prostředí / Quality of life in family carers of people with dementia being cared for at home

Šujanová, Anna January 2017 (has links)
(in English): The thesis focuses on the quality of life of carers of people with dementia being cared for at home. The theoretical section describes the concept of quality of life in general terms, but also considers carers accounts of their own personal experience. This section then outlines the various stages of dementia and how they impact the quality of life of caregivers. To complete the picture, this is followed by an assessment of care burden but also the various positive aspects arising from caring for dementia patients. By conducting semi-structured interviews, this work aims to investigate how excarers assess and value their experience of caring and whether, either while they were caring or retrospectively, they were aware of any positive aspects of caring for dementia patients and if so, specify what they were and if caregivers found personal meaning in their caregiving experience. Hence, the core area of interest is whether positive aspects of caregiving, finding meaning and cognitive restructuring could form the basis of a successful intervention, which may positively impact quality of life of current caregivers of dementia patients. While excarers mentioned numerous positive aspects associated with caregiving, some also referred to the meaning that they have found through caregiving....

"Pozitivní aspekty" dyslexie / "The Positive Aspects" of Dyslexia

Brancuská, Hana January 2012 (has links)
This thesis deals with the so called "positive aspects" of dyslexia, specifically enhanced creativity in dyslexics. It has recently become common to associate dyslexia not only with its symptoms and deficits, but also to emphasize its possible gains. Anecdotal evidence refers to enhanced creativity and more specific abilities of individuals with dyslexia. Based on the results of foreign studies that suggest a relationship between dyslexia and increased creativity, this research study was carried out in the environment of Czech secondary schools. The research group consisted of 67 adolescents with dyslexia and 67 intact counterparts at the age range from 17 to 20 years (including 108 boys and 26 girls). The data were obtained via figural Torrance Test of Creative Thinking. We then compared levels obtained within experimental and comparison groups in three specific fields - originality, elaboration and provision of non-standard and unusual responses. This was to lead to confirmation (or refusal) of a presumption that dyslexics show significantly higher scores in all three areas. Although the overall results of the research did not demonstrate a significant difference between the groups, we observed a trend indicating a higher score in dyslexics in all the defined areas. Results of our research study...
