The experiences of female educators with regard to promotion posts in educational institutionsMasoga, Morotola Rebeccah January 2011 (has links)
Thesis (M.Ed. (Educational Management)) -- University of Limpopo, 2011 / The purpose of the study was to investigate the experiences of female educators
with regard to promotion posts in educational institutions such as schools. The
problem which led to the investigation was that female educators allege that they
are discriminated against with regard to promotion posts. Hence teaching is
predominantly occupied by women but they are under-represented in the
management positions.
The study was ethnographic and qualitative because the researcher tried to understand
the complex settings through the eyes of the informants and assume that, to understand
a social setting, one needs to connect the observed behaviour with the rationales for
that behaviour. Human life was studied as it was related to education. The literature review highlighted why women do not occupy high positions in management. The study also focused on the perception held by most stakeholders with regard to promotion posts. The study indicated what causes female educators not to occupy higher management posts and strategies that can be employed in addition to the experience of female educators with regard to promotion posts in educational institutions. Data was collected through interviews in order to provide in depth understanding of what is studied. Sample selected was purposeful and non random. Data was analyzed inductively by organizing data into categories and identifying relationships among the categories. Data was selected, categorized, compared, synthesized and interpreted. Data was also analyzed by using descriptive statistical tables. The study discovered some aspects that support what female educators experienced in schools such as discrimination, harassment, negative attitudes, unfair-treatment, inferiority complex and gender-bias which lead to small number of female educators to be in the managerial positions and further research was recommended.

The capability and accuracy of the CEREC CAD/CAM system to fabricate custom posts by direct scanning of simulated canal blocks in vitroBahabri, Rayan 28 September 2016 (has links)
Dentists have been using CAD/CAM technology to fabricate custom posts and cores. However, most of these cases used impression material as a way to indirectly scan the canal. The aim of this study was to evaluate the capability of CEREC CAM/CAM machine to directly scan simulated canal blocks without an impression and which of the following factors affected the accuracy of fit; taper, length and tip diameter. Material and methods: 32 epoxy resin blocks with post space simulator were made from metal post templates to resemble post space preparations. Three factors were considered in-group variations; length of the post, taper and diameter of the post’s tip. Eight groups of four specimens each were milled from acrylic blocks using the CEREC CAD/CAM system and one extra group of one specimen each was for cast post fabrication. Group A (Length = 8mm, taper = 4o, tip diameter = 0.8mm), Group B (Length = 8mm, taper = 4o, tip diameter = 1 mm), Grope C (Length = 8mm, taper = 6o, tip diameter = 0.8mm), Group D (Length = 8mm, taper = 6o, tip diameter = 1 mm), Group E (Length = 10 mm, taper = 4o, tip diameter = 0.8mm), Group F (Length = 10 mm, taper = 4o, tip diameter = 1 mm), Grope G (Length = 10mm, taper = 6o, tip diameter = 0.8mm), Group H (Length = 10mm, taper = 6o, tip diameter = 1mm). Each block, with its cemented post was sectioned in a coronal-apical direction. An image was recorded for each slice. Cement thicknesses were measured in four areas. The results showed that group E and D have the smallest cement thickness with 84 and 89 microns respectively. Both groups shared a tip diameter of 1mm. This result is within the clinically acceptable limit of the cement layer around the posts and is comparable to the cast group in our study. Tip diameter and length significantly affected the cement thickness in an inverse relationship.

"Om inlägget är sponsrat tänker jag inte gilla" : En undersökning om interaktionen på sponsrade och icke-sponsrade inlägg från influencers följareBriheim, Linnea January 2021 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate the motives of young women choosing to interact with Swedish female influencers on Instagram, and these young womens, the followers, attitudes to sponsored material. The theories chosen as relevant for this study are “parasocial theory” as well as “perceived interconnectedness”. Both theories subject the relationship between a media personality and their fans. A content analysis was chosen to look at the difference in likes and comments on influencers sponsored as well as non-sponsored posts on Instagram. Furthermore, to increase the understanding, a survey was sent out to a collection of the followers who had commented on the relevant posts. This provided knowledge regarding followers' attitudes towards sponsored as well as non-sponsored posts. This empirical material was then analyzed using the method of content analysis. The main results of the study showed that the non-sponsored posts uploaded by the influencers were more appreciated by their followers, since 1 these non-sponsored posts generated more likes and comments from the followers. Furthermore, the respondents to the survey replied that they were often supportive of the influencers, and followed them as well as commented on their posts when they were inspired by them, wanted to support them, wanted to make their own opinions heard, or when the posts felt genuine and personal. The results are important as well as relevant for future studies, as well as for both influencers and companies willing to use influencers for marketing.

Static or Dynamic: An experimental study : The Impact of animation principles on user engagement on LinkedInFreid, Stina, Gredeus Ampuero, Alexandra January 2023 (has links)
Engagement. This has become a key concept in the field of marketing. The concept of "engagement" is utilized to describe the way users instantly engage with brands using clicks, reactions, comments, and sharing. Brands and advertisers utilize media platforms to increase brand awareness and create customer-engaging content. In recent years, most platforms have utilized motion graphics and animations to produce more dynamic content, separate themselves from competitors, and create engaging content. Nevertheless, is it possible to increase engagement by using animation principles? The objective of this research is to gain an understanding of how the principles of animation can be used to improve engagement on LinkedIn, as well as the impact these principles may have on social networking site platforms, and to determine which types of content are the most engaging. The following research question was asked: RQ1: How does the use of animation principles in dynamic posts influence the level of engagement on LinkedIn compared to static posts? In this study, an inductive and empirical approach through the Visual Attention Theory was used. A quantitative content analysis was performed on the companies' LinkedIn profiles to gather data on engagement. The content analysis was performed on LinkedIn in a real-world scenario using Ny Studio, Grace Studio, and Saga Production’s accounts. In total, 18 posts—three static and three dynamic were uploaded on each of the company's LinkedIn accounts. The collected data was inserted into the engagement metric to be further analyzed. Compared to static posts on LinkedIn, the dynamic post with the principles of animation did not yield significantly higher engagement. The animation of principles does, however, affect a post's comments, reactions, and shares. At the same time, static posts showed higher engagement in terms of views and clicks. The independent t-test resulted in a significant (p < 0.001) value for the engagement metric of clicks. This reveals that static post engagement on clicks does differ substantially in this study compared to dynamic posts. The findings contribute to the limited understanding of how dynamic LinkedIn affects user engagement and have laid the groundwork for further research in this area.

Avaliação da resistência à fratura de raízes fragilizadas reabilitadas por diferentes técnicas de construção de núcleos intra-radiculares /Clavijo, Victor Grover Rene. January 2007 (has links)
Abstract: The rehabilitation of weakened roots is a complex procedure with an unpredictable prognosis. This study evaluated by compression to fracture resistance and the fracture pattern of weakened roots restored with different construction techniques of intra-radicular posts. Forty hygid bovine incisors were divided into four groups according to each technique of construction of the intra-radicular posts: Group 1- weakened roots restored with metallic posts,; Group 2- weakened roots restored with glass fiber posts and accessory glass fiber posts; Group 3- weakened roots restored with direct anatomic posts (composite resin + glass fiber post); Group 4- weakened roots restored with indirect anatomic post (glass fiber post). All the groups were cemented with dual resinous cement (Multilink) and the coronal portions were patterned by an acrylic resin matrix. The specimens were submitted to a Universal Testing Machine at 0,5mm/min speed until its fracture at an angulation of 135° in relation to the long axis of the tooth. The mean values of fracture resistance were: Group 1- 575,54N; Group 2- 400,49N; Group 3- 483,39N; Group 4- 559,19N. The ANOVA values were (p<0,05) to one criteria showed statistic difference. Group 1 and the 4 different means were statistically the same, but statistically more than the ones of groups 2 and 3. The percentage of roots with favorable prognosis after fracture were: Group 1- 0%; Group 2- 80%; Group 3- 100%; Group 4- 100%. The direct and indirect anatomic post of glass fiber showed a new option to rehabilitate weakened roots. / Mestre

Understanding the Diffusion of COVID-19-Related Information on Social MediaAlasmari, Hanan Mohammed 08 1900 (has links)
Very few studies have examined information sentiment and explored other factors that contribute to health information dissemination and sharing. In particular, there is a lack of studies that performed these combined analyses in the modern social network environment during the disease outbreaks, such as with zika, ebola, SARS, or COVID-19. This study aimed to fill the gap in the literature by investigating what drives social media users to widely disseminate health-related information during a pandemic. Diffusion of innovation theory and theory of planned behavior were the basis of the theoretical approach utilized to answer the research questions. The two theories identified antecedents of sharing online health information. Data was collected through an online survey distributed to students in a higher education institution in the United States of America. The study revealed the extent of the relationships between the four major factors derived from the previous literature—attitudes toward sharing, beliefs toward source, peer influence, and information sentiment—and the behavioral intention to share information. The results would support the information science literature by offering and testing a new model that identifies the factors that affect users' intentions to share health information in the social network environment. This study will further the understanding and application of health information behavior research.
