This research is focused on cultural tourism in the scope of book collections as a way to provide an opportunity for the visiting public to know the bibliographic heritage of librarian institutions, resulting in the preservation of the memory of rare books. The study has as the root locus the Public Bibliotheca Pelotense and the objective: to explore the interest of visitors present at the "Heritage Day" to meet its rare collection, analyze the possible impacts caused by the development of tourism under the rare books collection and analyze the tourism, cultural and literary potential of this collection. The work is in a qualitative and quantitative research, in which questionnaires were used with visitors from the bibliotheca pelotense, chosen randomly, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with an active historian in the library and librarians of the National Library of Brazil responsible for coordinating the Special Collection and Rare Books Division. The research revealed that the collection of rare books of the Public Bibliotheca Pelotense awakens the interest of visitors to meet it, as well as having daily diaries of trips that address sights of the city and thus a relevant bibliographic heritage, which encourage literary tourism and at the same time become touristic products. Another result of the study indicates that cultural tourism in exposed rare collections is a way to preserve the memory and disclosure of assets, stimulating in the potential audience the sense of belonging and desire to search the library. From this, it appears that cultural tourism in the collection of rare books of the Public Bibliotheca Pelotense has potential and despite some difficulties, the institution seeks to preserve its collection and plans in the future, a new space for rare works. As a product of this dissertation, was created one lego box and a video to promote the cultural and literary tourism in the institution from its bibliographical heritage. / Esta pesquisa tem como foco de investigação o turismo cultural no âmbito do acervo de obras como uma forma de oportunizar o público visitante de instituições bibliotecárias em conhecer seu patrimônio bibliográfico, o que acarreta na preservação da memória do acervo. O estudo tem como lócus de análise a Bibliotheca Pública Pelotense e objetiva: averiguar o interesse dos visitantes presentes no evento “Dia do Patrimônio” em conhecer seu acervo raro, analisar os possíveis impactos ocasionados pelo desenvolvimento do turismo no âmbito do acervo de obras raras e analisar o potencial turístico, cultural e literário desse acervo. O trabalho constitui-se em uma pesquisa qualitativa e quantitativa, em que foram utilizados questionários com visitantes da biblioteca pelotense, escolhidos de forma aleatória, e entrevistas com um roteiro semi-estruturado realizadas com um historiador atuante na biblioteca e com bibliotecárias da Biblioteca Nacional do Brasil responsáveis pela coordenação de Acervo Especial e Divisão de Obras Raras. A pesquisa revelou que o acervo de livros raros da Bibliotheca Pública Pelotense desperta o interesse dos visitantes em conhecê-los, além de possuir diários de viagens que abordam pontos turísticos da cidade e com isso constituem um relevante patrimônio bibliográfico, que incentiva o turismo literário e ao mesmo tempo tornam-se produtos turísticos. Outro resultado do estudo indica que o turismo cultural em acervos raros expostos é um caminho para a preservação da memória e divulgação do acervo, estimulando no público em potencial o sentido de pertencimento e a querer pesquisar na biblioteca. A partir disso, depreende-se que o turismo cultural no âmbito do acervo de livros raros da Bibliotheca Pública Pelotense tem potencial e apesar de algumas dificuldades, a instituição busca preservar seu acervo e planeja futuramente, um novo espaço para as obras raras. Como produto dessa dissertação, criou-se uma caixa lego e um vídeo para promover o turismo cultural e literário na instituição a partir de seu patrimônio bibliográfico.

There are historic farms in the state that are rich in memory as Farm Santa Maria Monjolinho located on the outskirts of the city of São Carlos, which contains a large collection containing the history of the region and the country. It is estimated that there is in these documents have not unraveled much about the history of the development of science, health and education of our country. The aim of this research, raise with the first volume of the "Curriculum Vitae" - item that is part of historical documents belonging to Fazenda Santa Maria Monjolinho - contributions that Dr. Ernesto de Souza Campos brought to the areas of science and education for our country, and disseminate this knowledge along to the academic peers and also for society. Dr. Ernesto degree in civil engineering from the Polytechnic School in 1906 and medicine from the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery of São Paulo in 1918, Ernesto de Souza Campos brought major contributions to the development of the scientific and academic community of the country, as participation in the foundation of some universities, for example, the University of São Paulo. The aim of this research to trace its history and bring it to the attention of society, and other researchers, valuing the existing cultural heritage in the Santa Maria Monjolinho. For that were selected nine documents distributed over three phases of the life of Ernesto, as follows: Stage 1: life as an engineering student or engineer, 2nd phase: life as an engineer and a medical student, and Phase 3: life as an engineer and doctor. . These selected documents were analyzed between two sub-areas determined by their purpose being, institutionalization of science and knowledge generation, seeking contributions left by him from the civil engineering as well as medicine, and that reflect the production and institutionalization of science in Brazil. / A preservação da memória de uma população é de grande importância, pois determina a evolução de um povo e traça a sua história, perpetua e fortalece sua identidade cultural. Existem, no interior paulista, fazendas históricas que são ricas em memória como a Fazenda Santa Maria do Monjolinho localizada nos arredores da cidade de São Carlos, que possui um vasto acervo contendo a história da região e do país. Estima-se que exista nestes documentos ainda não desvendados, muito sobre a história do desenvolvimento da ciência, saúde e educação do nosso país. Pretende-se com esta pesquisa, levantar junto ao primeiro volume do Curriculum Vitae - item que faz parte do acervo de documentos históricos pertencentes à Fazenda Santa Maria do Monjolinho - as contribuições que o Dr. Ernesto de Souza Campos trouxe para as áreas de ciência e educação para o nosso país, e divulgar esse conhecimento junto aos pares do meio acadêmico e também para a sociedade. Formado em engenharia civil pela Escola Politécnica no ano de 1906 e em medicina pela Faculdade de Medicina e Cirurgia de São Paulo no ano de 1918, Ernesto de Souza Campos trouxe grandes contribuições para a evolução do meio científico e acadêmico do país, como a participação na fundação de alguns centros universitários, por exemplo, a Universidade de São Paulo. Pretende-se com esta pesquisa traçar sua trajetória e trazê-la ao conhecimento da sociedade, e demais pesquisadores, valorizando o patrimônio cultural existente na Fazenda Santa Maria do Monjolinho. Para isso foram selecionados nove documentos distribuídos ao longo de três fases da vida de Ernesto, sendo: 1ª fase: vida como estudante de engenharia ou engenheiro, 2ª fase: vida como engenheiro e estudante de medicina, e 3ª fase: vida como engenheiro e médico. Estes documentos selecionados foram analisados entre duas subáreas determinadas por suas finalidades sendo, institucionalização da ciência e geração de conhecimento, buscando as contribuições deixadas por ele a partir da engenharia civil e também a partir da medicina e que refletem a produção e institucionalização da ciência no Brasil.
