Assim, identificar e quantificar os elementos potencialmente tóxicos presentes nas águas de poços corrobora para o desenvolvimento de ações mitigadoras do impacto ambiental a fim de prevenir que determinada contaminação evolua. A região de Presidente Prudente/SP é banhada pelo aquífero Bauru, que tem a água subterrânea captada para fins domésticos, agrícolas e industriais como fonte alternativa para o consumo. Deste modo, o principal objetivo deste trabalho foi a determinação e quantificação de íons metálicos potencialmente tóxicos, sendo estes, o cádmio (Cd2+), chumbo (Pb2+) e cobre (Cu2+) em amostras de água subterrânea, a fim de realizar um diagnóstico ambiental na área urbana de Presidente Prudente/SP. A determinação e quantificação dos metais Cd2+, Pb2+ e Cu2+ em amostras de água subterrânea foi realizada pela técnica voltamétrica de pulso diferencial por redissolução anódica utilizando como eletrodo de trabalho o eletrodo de mercúrio (Hanging Mercury Droping Electrode - HMDE), que se mostrou eficiente e satisfatória, comprovado pelos baixos limites de detecção dos metais. Para cada amostra, foram efetuadas medidas de pH, nas quais foram identificados o caráter básico em regiões situadas na FCT-Unesp e arredores, mantendo sua neutralidade em regiões mais distantes e menos populosa. Thus, identifying and quantifying potentially toxic elements in the well water supports for the development of environmental impact mitigation actions to prevent contamination that particular evolve. The region of Presidente Prudente/SP is bathed in Bauru aquifer, which has groundwater abstracted for domestic, industrial and agricultural production as an alternative source for consumption. Thus, the main objective of this work was the determination and quantification of potentially toxic metal ions, which are, cadmium (Cd2+), lead (Pb2+) and copper (Cu2+) in groundwater samples in order to carry out an environmental diagnosis in the urban area of Presidente Prudente/SP. The determination and quantification of Cd2+ metals, Pb2+ and Cu2+ in groundwater samples was performed by technique anodic stripping voltammetric with mercury electrode (Hanging Mercury Droping Electrode - HMDE), which has proved efficient and satisfactory as evidenced by the low limits of detection of metals. For each sample, pH measurements were taken, where it was identified the basic character in regions situated in the FCT-Unesp and surroundings, maintaining its neutrality in more remote and less populated regions. A metodologia empregada partiu das concepções metodológicas de Rodriguez (1994), Rodriguez e Silva (2013) e Leal (1995), com a realização das etapas de Organização, Inventário, Diagnóstico, Prognóstico e Proposições, incluindo a elaboração de mapas temáticos e de síntese, utilizando o Sistema de Informação Geográfica (SIG), Sistema de Posicionamento Global (GPS), trabalhos de campo, análise e sistematização de dados e informações. A importância desse trabalho se deu pela experiência de discutir um assunto importante regionalmente, mas, também, pelo contato que obteve com trabalhos no exterior durante estágio de pesquisa na Ludwig-Maximilians-Universitat, em Munique na Alemanha. O espaço produzido é acrescido por fatores econômicos na contemporaneidade, e compreender o arranjo de articulações arquitetadas em torno da questão industrial de determinada região é condição sine qua non para a reflexão das transformações que incidem direta ou indiretamente no mundo do trabalho, das finanças, do meio-técnico-científico-informacional, entre outros. Diante desses processos, o debate está ligado à necessidade de ampliar, na Geografia, a discussão das cidades pequenas e, aqui, especialmente, atentar-se-á para a dimensão desses centros no âmbito da "arena" capitalista do interior paulista, com ênfase na análise dos principais segmentos da indústria. Com esse intuito, entende-se que o estudo de determinadas particularidades geográficas também deve constar neste exame de maneira mais aprofundada e por esse motivo, elegeu-se a região administrativa de Presidente Prudente. Nesse sentido, espera-se que esta pesquisa possa contribuir do ponto de vista qualitativo, para a análise do mapa da indústria no início do século XXI, tendo como referência a reflexão das cidades pequenas em relação à questão industrial / Abstract: This dissertation is based in small cities located in the Tenth Administrative Area of Presidente Prudente-SP, and it focuses on the geographical territorial dimension analysis of industry within economical context in São Paulo state. The produced space gets additional economical factors. Understanding the arrangement of articulations built around industrial issues of certain region is sine qua non condition for reflecting on the transformations that directly or indirectly happen in the world of job, finances, and milieu techno-scientificinformational, among others. Facing these processes, the debate is linked to the need of widening, in Geography, the discussion about small cities and, mainly, it will be intended to look at the dimension of these centers in the context of the capitalist scene of São Paulo estate. Emphasis will be given to the analysis of the main industrial segments. It is understood that the study of certain geographical particularities should also appear in this exam in a deeper way. And because of this the region of Presidente Prudente was chosen.
