Klinkertillverkning inom cementindustrin : Bränsleaskans inverkan på klinkerns kvalitet / Clinker manufacturing in the cement industry : The impact of the fuel ash on the clinker quality

Thulin, Luna January 2021 (has links)
During this work, the clinker production at a cement factory has been studied. The work deals with opportunities for improvement, ability, and goal fulfillment for mean value and variation for the lime saturation factor in the clinker. A reduced variation offers a more even quality, which can have a positive impact on cement grinding, energy consumption, and quality. The main reasons for variations in the quality of the clinker are the quality of raw meal and ash from fuels. The work is supported by theories that deal with quality management, change, leadership, and communication. In data collection and data analysis, both qualitative and quantitative methods have been used. The collected material has been retrieved from the cement factory's own databases. The conclusions that can be drawn from this study are that the clinker manufacturing process is not stable and low process capability. The effect of the ash on the lime saturation of the clinker was calculated to be about 17% of the total variance. Different views on the concept of quality can also contribute to unwanted variation.

Chang, Sung Lai Unknown Date (has links)
Confronting an environment characterized with brisk alternations of product generation and dynamic global competition, continuous improvement in their business processes which leads to lower costs of operation and better alignment of utilization of assets and partnerships is critical for the electronic component manufacturers to survive and grow. With highly effective and efficient business processes, customer satisfaction, core competence and competitive advantages can be built on. By an application of the PWIO approach and targeted at an electronic component manufacturer, this research analyzes three business processes crucial to the subject company. Based on results derived from the PWIO analysis, this research provides suggestions for improvements in both business processes and inventory obsolescence. A new set of process objectives are also developed to be concretely aligned with the related performance measures. In addition, a management framework built on the concepts of Balanced Scorecard and strategy map are offered to the subject company for future application. Furthermore, via linking the practices specified in the PWIO analysis with concepts underlying the activity-based costing, this research identifies the cost drivers facilitating a further understanding on how company’s resources are consumed by individual costumer, product or process. The research findings can assist management of the subject company to have better cost planning and control, more accurate profit analysis and pricing decisions.

Kvalitet och processprestanda inom cementindustrins råmjölstillverkning / Quality and process performance in the cement industy's raw meal production

Ahlqvist, Marcus, Hamad, Gulnaz January 2019 (has links)
During this work, one of Europe's most modern cement factories is studied, with the capacity to produce around 2.6 million tons of cement per year. The purpose of the thesis is to describe the variation in the outcome of raw meal and identify which causes of variation are possible to reduce. Involuntary variations in the quality of the input raw meal can result in a lack of clinker quality, which in turn can result in a significant loss of revenue. The work is based on theories relating to Total Quality Management, process management and cement production. A method combination of quantitative and qualitative methods has been applied for data collection and data analysis, where the quantitative data collection is based on historical data gathered from the reference organization. The conclusions outlined are that the process being studied has the opportunity to perform world-class. The main contributing factor is the method for control where the system lacks control limits that lead to over compensation. Also, material variation in the case of changes of raw material piles is a significant cause of the variance in the raw meal. Provided that the control system is switched on prematurely after a raw material pile change has been carried out, the effect of the change can be worsened. Furthermore, the results indicate that 80% of the total variation in the raw meal’s lime saturation is created by raw material pile changes.

MODEL UPRAVLJANJA PERFORMANSAMA PROCESA SOCIJALNE ZAŠTITE I TRANZICIJE MODULA E-UPRAVE U PAMETNU UPRAVU

Klipa Đuro 10 April 2018 (has links)

/
The main problem of this research is the identification of indicators of the performance of the social protection system and the development of models that enable monitoring and management of certain segments of the social protection system, as a conceptual and methodologically new approach that will enable improvement of performance, detection of possible adverse effects and anomalies in the system during the introduction. to prevent systemic abuse and reduce adverse effects of administration. This research is based on the fact that certain regionally dependent fluctuations in the system parameters induce deviation from mathematical models, which clearly shows where the flaws to be solved by appropriate changes in the legislation and bylaws on the basis of which the corresponding social protection system is implemented. The proposed model and the concept of e-government transformation into smart governance will be tested under the child-allowance program, as case studies and one of the largest segments of the social protection system, and the results obtained will be able to use for the control and improvement of similar complex subsystems within the overall social protection system.

Implementing music in an integrated arts curriculum for South African primary schools

Vermeulen, Dorette 17 October 2009 (has links)
Music Education as part of the learning area Arts and Culture is far from satisfactory in South African schools. Reasons for this include a highly sophisticated and complex curriculum (the revised National Curriculum Statement, 2002); the integration of four discrete arts forms into one learning area; and teacher training which is not always reflective of the teaching profession’s demands. The study was based on a mixed method design, investigating how teachers in best scenario schools implement music as part of the integrated learning area Arts and Culture. Interviews were held with various stakeholders in Music Education, including teachers currently involved with the presentation of the Arts and Culture learning area, lecturers at universities training students for Music Education, and policy makers such as subject advisors in the Arts and Culture learning area. Data was also collected by analysing commercially available resources for this learning area. Analysis of the data obtained revealed that few teachers in the Arts and Culture learning area are qualified in more than one art form. A major concern is that music is often omitted from regular classroom activities in the Foundation Phase due to teachers feeling pressurised by multiple assessment standards in learning areas such as Literacy and Numeracy. Another finding in all primary school phases was that the time spent on Music Education was far less than that spent on Visual Arts. Learners are often involved in projects collecting knowledge about music, but seldom involved in active music making experiences. Aspects such as different ways to integrate the arts into one learning area, generalist/specialist teacher training, as well as issues concerning product, process and performance during the delivery of the arts, were also investigated. The researcher drew from all the data to design a course for teacher training in Music Education as part of the learning area Arts and Culture. Recommendations include regular in-service teacher training courses; nationwide co-ordination of teacher training programmes and the establishment of a national council for Music Education. An urgent need for appropriate lesson material in Arts and Culture was also identified, including CDs with songs and backtracks. / Thesis (DMus)--University of Pretoria, 2009. / Music / unrestricted
