Este estudo teve como objetivo conhecer as representações socialmente construídas pelos bibliotecários atuantes em bibliotecas universitárias a respeito da contribuição destes na formação do discente da graduação. A pesquisa aqui proposta teve abordagem qualitativa. Sua fundamentação teórica e metodológica apoiou-se na sociologia do conhecimento e nos preceitos do construcionismo social, assim como nas teorias das representações sociais e coletivas. A técnica utilizada no tratamento e análise dos discursos coletados por meio de entrevistas semi-estruturadas foi o Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo – DSC. O ambiente da pesquisa foi a Biblioteca Central da UFSC, localizada no Campus Universitário Trindade, em Florianópolis, no Estado de Santa Catarina. A escolha dessa instituição se deu pela conveniência da pesquisa, uma vez que a opinião dos bibliotecários sobre o tema ora abordado independe de unidade de federação ao qual se encontre o profissional, gênero ou qualquer outro fator. A partir dos discursos sintetizados no DSC, verificou-se que os conhecimentos adquiridos na graduação formam a base de sustentação do trabalho do bibliotecário e para que ele desenvolva seu trabalho cotidiano de forma mais eficiente, são necessários um acervo de conhecimentos gerais e conhecimento de línguas estrangeiras, sobretudo do inglês.O domínio da especificidade com a qual lida no dia-a-dia, os conhecimentos agregados ao longo da vida profissional e os conhecimentos adquiridos com a educação continuada formam o conjunto das competências profissionais mencionadas pelo discurso coletivo, enquanto que atenção, honestidade, autoconfiança e compreensão são mencionados como as principais competências pessoais. O computador, as bases de dados e a internet são as ferramentas e os recursos tecnológicos utilizados pelo coletivo entrevistado. Evidenciou-se ainda que tornar o usuário independente em suas pesquisas é um objetivo comum entre os bibliotecários entrevistados. / This study had as the objective to know the representation manifested social an the speech of the librarians professionals working in university libraries about your contribution at formation of the university student of graduation. Purpose: Research productivity is often counted as a major factor in evaluations and promotion. Librarians have had to find a way to pursue research along with performing job duties and professional service. Collaborative research can provide an effective solution for busy librarians who need to show a record of research. Additionally, it can be a cost‐effective means for library administrators to promote library faculty output in the face of reduced travel and research budgets. This paper seeks to address these issues. Design/methodology/approach: In developing their research group, the authors began with a small, informal collaboration on an article describing new staffing models for library outreach. As the writing of the article proceeded, the group developed a more formal structure. As that article reached completion, the purpose of the group expanded to that of fostering creativity and following creative leads to a publishable (or presentable) conclusion. Findings: In the two years during which the writing group has been working together, it has produced four articles and nine presentations, with several in‐progress efforts. In addition, the writing group has encouraged members to develop individual projects for presentation and publication outside of the group's scope. Practical implications: The authors offer recommendations to other professionals interested in forming collaborative writing groups and to library administrators interested in encouraging their staffs to develop productive working relationships. Originality/value: Few articles have been written about collaboration among librarians to promote their own research and publication. The authors describe in this paper an informal, yet highly effective means to foster faculty research productivity.

To do it, was necessary to contextualize a network society, which hosts the dynamics involving the new technologies of information and communication and present some new professional performance profiles. Understanding this context it is necessary to better visualize the possibilities of the librarian in use of social media. The methodological route was traced through and exploratory research in university libraries websites of federal and state education and federal institutes of education, from the data base informed by e-MEC, in order to identify the existence of social media guidelines. The international field, through Scimago Institutions Ranking, were analyzed 20 websites of university libraries in English and Spanish, also in order to find guidelines. The methodology used in the five documents of this survey was the content analysis, seeking to identify guidelines that make up the product of this work. The guidelines were defined: planning, behavioral and social aspects, ethical and legal aspects, languages and content types, metrics and monitoring and crisis management. / Esta dissertação traz como produto um conjunto de diretrizes para o uso de mídias sociais por bibliotecários atuantes em bibliotecas universitárias. Para tal, foi necessário contextualizar uma sociedade em rede, onde acontecem as dinâmicas envolvendo as novas tecnologias da informação e comunicação e apresentar alguns novos perfis de atuação profissional. Compreender este contexto torna-se necessário para visualizar melhor quais as possibilidades do bibliotecário no uso das mídias sociais. O percurso metodológico foi traçado por meio de uma pesquisa exploratória em sites de bibliotecas universitárias das redes de ensino federal e estadual e dos institutos federais de educação, a partir dos dados informados pela base e-MEC, com a finalidade de identificar a existência de manuais de mídias sociais. Do campo internacional, através do Scimago Institutions Ranking, foram analisados 20 sites de bibliotecas universitárias nos idiomas Inglês e Espanhol, também com a finalidade de encontrar manuais. A metodologia utilizada nos cinco manuais deste levantamento foi a análise de conteúdo, buscando identificar quais diretrizes comporiam o produto desta dissertação. As diretrizes definidas foram: Planejamento, Aspectos comportamentais e sociais, Aspectos éticos e jurídicos, Linguagens e tipos de conteúdo, Monitoramento e métricas e Gestão de crises.
