Dispositif de stimulation olfactive pour l'investion en imagerie par résonance magnétique fonctionelle / Olfactometer for Functional Resonance imaging

Andrieu, Patrice 13 December 2013 (has links)
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) has been developing for twentyyears. Indeed, the marketing of high-resolution MRI (5 Tesla and 7 Tesla recently)allowed the study of brain mechanisms. The research work of this PHD was todevelop instrumentation for objective studies of brain behavior during a sensorystimulation. We are interested in the study of olfaction. We have designed and builta six-channel olfactometer, synchronized with breathing and controlled by computer. The originality of our work lies in the modularity of our device, which makes itadaptable to a wide range of studies. We also propose an new method to changethe intensity of stimulation delivered : the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). Thisdevice has been used in several studies in fMRI. The effectiveness of the PWM ishighlighted in a psychophysical study described in this manuscript.

Indikátor obsahu feromagnetických fází / Metal components testing equipment

Krupa, Zdeněk January 2009 (has links)
This thesis deals with designing a portable indicator for measuring of content of ferromagnetic phase in non-ferromagnetic steels. The first part of the thesis describes the principle of sensor used in the indicator. A market survey is presented, with a description of selected indicators that are suitable for measurement of content of ferromagnetic phases. The following part deals with a design of the device hardware, which is focused on finding a suitable indicator concept. Circuits for battery charge, measuring chain and other circuits are designed in this part. The following part of the thesis describes the function of the software. First it describes the software for DSP, then the software for personal computer. The software for DSP has been programmed in the C language, the software for the personal computer in the C# language. The last part but one describes an inspectional measurement of the indicator. This measurement has been performed on testing samples as well as other materials. The final part presents a summary of the outcomes and provides recommendations for possible improvement.

Návrh a realizace vývojové desky pro platformu Beagleboard / Design and realization of a developement board for BeagleBoard

Ťapucha, Andrej January 2014 (has links)
Contents of the thesis is to design and create an expansion board for the BeagleBoard computer one plate . The first and very important part was to find out all the possibilities for an extension of the computer itself . Choose the right expansion port . To study the possibility distribution of individual pins . Followed by the appropriate extension election districts that demonstrate the function of each enlargement . Test was designed PCB that contains circuits that change the voltage level of the BeagleBoard to protect a mini computer to the testing of each gusset periphery prevent damage to itself or part of the BeagleBoard . The peripherals themselves bind different parts of theoretical introduction. More specifically the extension of the LCD display is selected segment and includes two lines of 16 characters . When the possibility to add additional components were necessary to deal with the shortcomings of the output pins , this problem was solved by using an expander . He extends itself BeagleBoard by another 16 pins . On these pins are connected together on the LCD matrix keyboard . The creation of the board are two circuit temperature sensors , but have a different type of communication using I2C and one second using 1 -Wire bus . The board also contains various other bus outputs , for example, UART bus. It also contains an output pin which can be controlled PWM modulation . The remaining pins are versatile GPIO pins which can be programmed to define a function using the Linux operating system . The result is a final board of the package control programs which make it possible to verify the individual peripherals.

Reduction of Audible Noise of a Traction Motor at PWM Operation

Amlinger, Hanna January 2018 (has links)
A dominating source for the radiated acoustic noise from a train at low speeds is the traction motor. This noise originates from electromagnetic forces acting on the structure resulting in vibrations on the surface and thus radiated noise. It is often perceived as annoying due to its tonal nature. To achieve a desirable acoustic behavior, and also to meet legal requirements, it is of great importance to thoroughly understand the generation of noise of electromagnetic origin in the motor and also to be able to control it to a low level. In this work, experimental tests have been performed on a traction motor operated from pulse width modulated (PWM) converter. A PWM converter outputs a quasi-sinusoidal voltage created from switched voltage pulses of different widths. The resulting main vibrations at PWM operation and their causes have been analyzed. It is concluded that an appropriate selection of the PWM switching frequency, that is the rate at which the voltage is switched, is a powerful tool to influence the noise of electromagnetic origin. Changing the switching frequency shifts the frequencies of the exciting electromagnetic forces. Further experimental investigations show that the trend is that the resulting sound power level decreases with increasing switching frequency and eventually the sound power level reaches an almost constant level. The underlying physical phenomena for the reduced sound power level is different for different frequency ranges. It is proposed that the traction motor, similar to a thin walled cylindrical structure, shows a constant vibration over force response above a certain frequency. This is investigated using numerical simulations of simplified models. Above this certain frequency, where the area of high modal density is dominating, the noise reducing effect of further increasing the switching frequency is limited. / <p>QC 20180109</p>
