IT SOLUTIONS FOR EFFECTIVE HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT / IT SOLUTIONS FOR EFFECTIVE HEALTHCARE MANAGEMENT

Šebej, Matej January 2013 (has links)
Why do the healthcare facilities incur debt? What troubles the managers most? In what conditions do the healthcare professionals work? Is there space for improvement? Is it possible to deliver higher quality care? Nowadays, the healthcare providers are looking for solutions, which could help them satisfy more patients, reach lower costs and therefore increase own financial results and answer the abovementioned questions. Key element of such a solution is a business intelligence system, which supports decision-making and aligns enterprise objects with its progress and improves the overall performance. The thesis elaborates on the topic of business intelligence software QlikView in selected hospitals, which already implemented or are about to implement the business intelligence software. The intention was to find out ways in which the software is used in the hospitals, what key performance indicators the software usually measures and what could be the possible opportunities for its further use in the selected facilities. Research results indicate that the software significantly increased the work efficiency and that it contributes to more effective hospital management. However, such improvement in efficiency has also its drawbacks, namely it is the higher price per personal licence in comparison to the other business intelligence software on the market. Research also confirmed the fact that only usage of such software alone will not help to improve the overall bad state of Slovak healthcare system -- systematic measures such as DRG system have to be implemented in the first place in order to also effectively use the business intelligence software.

Webbplattform för statusrapportering på Sandvik IT

Homainik, Arian January 2009 (has links)

InfoMart Reporting : The process of developing a data discovery tool for Genesys InfoMart

Vestling, Olof January 2015 (has links)
Customer relationship management (CRM) is gaining momentum around the world and a majority of the organizations view customer experience provided by contact-centers as a competitive differentiator. Thus is the importance of understanding these systems very big. The purpose of the thesis is to create a cohesive solution, a prototype, to gather, aggregate and present viable business reports for a number of channels in such a system. The CRM-platform handled in this thesis is called Genesys InfoMart, which is developed by Genesys Telecommunications. The thesis defines the use-cases and reports to be compiled. It does also give a description of how data is cross- correlated across the database and how it was gathered. By involving domain-experts and using a scenario based- approach, requirements have been derived and reports have been developed. It is concluded that the conceptual scenarios were feasible. There are no limitations within the InfoMart data mart with respect to the functionality that the domain-experts demand. A cooperative-evaluation session showed that the conceptual design was approved and that it provided the functionality that the evaluation group requested. Thus concluded that the methodological approach was overall successful and that the requirements were met. It is however recommended to continue the development process by exposing the prototype to end-users evaluation. This can provide insights and information that can be very useful when developing the final product.

Možnosti In-memory reportingových nástrojů / Possibilities of In-memory reporting tools

Cígler, Lukáš January 2013 (has links)
Diploma thesis focuses on in-memory data processing, its use in reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) in general. The main goal of the theoretical part is to introduce the in memory principles, highlight the differences from hard drive data processing and overview possible implementations of in-memory technology in BI solution. The output of this section is an analysis of advantages and disadvantages of in-memory solutions in various perspectives. The practical part of the thesis consists of the performance benchmark that compares the performance of data processing using the in-memory principles and conventional hard drive methods. The performance comparison is realized in the reporting tools environment, QlikView for in-memory approach and Reporting Services for hard drive based method. Several data sets are used for testing in both mentioned tools. End of the chapter provides the assessment of testing results and discusses the strengths and weaknesses of both principles of data processing. The conclusion of this work discusses the advantages and disadvantages of in-memory data processing and defines the key questions that company management should ask before investing in innovation of the present BI solution. Moreover the conclusion contains recommendations for possible further follow-up work.

Metadaty řízený finanční reporting firmy / Metadata driven financial reporting of a company

Kunst, Jan January 2013 (has links)
Diploma thesis deals with analysis of common requirements of mid-sized and major companies for financial reporting and with design and development of reporting tool which meets such requirements. The target of the thesis is to create the tool for financial reporting, which would be universal and allows user to set up by himself, easily and without interfering the source code, those parts of reporting tool which usually varies for different companies, so they can't be set both universally and precisely in advance. The tool is developed in QlikView environment, which provides many advantages for quality reporting. My contribution within this thesis is in the use of nontrivial practices and maximal utilization of QlikView environment possibilities in order to make the final financial reporting tool modular, parameterizable, expandable and applicable in any company environment and to enable it to transfer the role of reports set-up towards the user.

Porovnání nástrojů pro Data Discovery / Data Discovery Tools Comparison

Kopecký, Martin January 2012 (has links)
Diploma thesis focuses on Data Discovery tools, which have been growing in im-portance in the Business Intelligence (BI) field during the last few years. Increasing number of companies of all sizes tend to include them in their BI environments. The main goal of this thesis is to compare QlikView, Tableau and PowerPivot using a defined set of criteria. The comparison is based on development of human resources report, which was modeled on a real life banking sector business case. The main goal is supported by a number of minor goals, namely: analysis of existing comparisons, definition of a new set of criteria, basic description of the compared platforms, and documentation of the case study. The text can be divided into two major parts. The theoretical part describes elemental BI architecture, discusses In-memory databases and data visualisation in context of a BI solution, and analyses existing comparisons of Data Discovery tools and BI platforms in general. Eight different comparisons are analysed in total, including reports of consulting companies and diploma theses. The applied part of the thesis builds upon the previous analysis and defines comparison criteria divided into five groups: Data import, transformation and storage; Data analysis and presentation; Operations criteria; User friendliness and support; Business criteria. The subsequent chapter describes the selected platforms, their brief history, component architecture, available editions and licensing. Case study chapter documents development of the report in each of the platforms and pinpoints their pros and cons. The final chapter applies the defined set of criteria and uses it to compare the selected Data Discovery platforms to fulfil the main goal of this thesis. The results are presented both numerically, utilising the weighted sum model, and verbally. The contribution of the thesis lies in the transparent confrontation of three Data Discovery tools, in the definition of a new set of comparison criteria, and in the documentation of the practical testing. The thesis offers an indirect answer to the question: "Which analytical tool should we use to supplement our existing BI solution?"
