Andr, Jiří January 2021 (has links)
The subject of the diploma thesis entitled Development of pedagogical staff in relation to trends in the management of secondary schools is the analysis of approaches in terms of national strategy, but also in terms of secondary schools themselves. The theoretical part presents the educational policy and educational system in the Czech Republic, the legislative concept and definition of education and a description of the control body, which is the Czech School Inspectorate. The work also contains a theoretical basis and theoretical background of the issues focused on the strategic management of human resources in general, but also in the concept of secondary education. The starting point of the research is the approach to strategic management of human resources in the field of education of teachers at secondary schools according to conceptual documents focusing on the quality of education and development of teachers in the Czech Republic and the use of funds offered by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. Documents and approaches related to the strategy of educational policy for the following period had examined, as well as the set quality criteria of secondary schools and grammar schools. Based on the findings from the above strategic and conceptual documents concerning secondary schools...

Evaluation of Silver Nanoparticle Acute and Chronic Effects on Freshwater Amphipod (Hyalella Azteca)

Kusi, Joseph, Maier, Kurt J. 01 January 2022 (has links)
Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) are known to cause ecotoxic effects, but there are no existing derived ambient water quality criteria (AWQC) for these nanomaterials to protect freshwater aquatic life due to insufficient toxicological data. We exposed Hyalella azteca to silver nitrate, citrate-coated AgNPs (citrate-AgNPs), and polyvinylpyrrolidone-coated AgNPs (PVP-AgNPs) in a 10-day and 28-day water-only static renewal system with clean sand as a substrate for the amphipods and compared their point estimates with the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) AWQC for silver. We observed that all treatments decreased the survival, growth, and biomass of H. azteca, and the order of toxicity was AgNO > citrate-AgNPs > PVP-AgNPs. The LC50s of AgNO, citrate-AgNPs, and PVP-AgNPs were 3.0, 9.6, and 296.0 µg total Ag L, respectively, for the acute exposure and 2.4, 3.2, and 61.4 µg total Ag L, respectively, for the chronic exposure. Acute and chronic EC20s of citrate-AgNPs ranged from 0.5 to 3.5 µg total Ag L while that of PVP-AgNPs ranged from 31.2 to 175 µg total Ag L for growth and biomass. Both Ag released from AgNPs and the nanoparticles contributed to the observed toxicity. The dissolution and toxicity of AgNPs were influenced by surface coating agents, particle size, and surface charge. Most point estimates for AgNPs were above AWQC for silver (4.1 µg L) and the lowest concentration (0.12 µg/L) at which Ag is expected to cause chronic adverse effects to freshwater aquatic life. Our study demonstrates that the current AWQC for silver, in general, is protective of freshwater aquatic life against AgNPs tested in the present study.

Journalistic Quality Criteria under the Magnifying Glass

Planer, Rosanna, Godulla, Alexander, Seibert, Daniel, Pietsch, Patrick 08 March 2024 (has links)
This study explores aspects of journalistic quality in complex digital stories. Based on a tailored overview of the potentials of online journalism and digital long form stories for journalistic quality, all available award-winning stories of the subcategory Interactive of the World Press Photo’s Digital Storytelling Contest from 2011 to 2021 (n = 31) are examined according to their structure and journalistic quality criteria using Grounded Theory. The findings add to the long and ongoing research history in journalism and communication studies on the question of what journalistic quality entails and can be used as a basis for further analyses focusing on the technological and structural nature of digital stories and high-quality journalism. The analysis revealed a differentiation between linear stories and chapter stories with linear elements. While a multimedia nature, continuous text and video content prevailed in both forms, they differed in terms of their complexity as well as certain expressions of quality criteria. Gamification and immersion emerged as new yet debatable aspects of journalistic quality in digital stories.

Identifikace a evaluace internetových stránek v oblasti intervencí harm reduction zaměřených na uživatele nelegálních drog v České republice / Identification and evaluation of websites of harm reduction interventions targeting illicit drug users in the Czech Republic

Habarta, Jiří January 2017 (has links)
The thesis describes the course and results of the research into the field of Harm Reduction (HR) through the internet websites in the Czech language. Nowadays the internet forms an inseparable part of most people's lives from all social classes. This fact is reflected in the interests of both service providers for drug users and laymen interested in drug issues. Unfortunately, according to current research we do not know much about what information and in which quality and range can people find about drug Harm reduction on the internet. Therefore, the aim of this thesis was to identify and evaluate internet websites in the field of harm reduction intervention focused on the users of illegal drugs in the Czech Republic. Internet websites were evaluated not only with respect to the contents and range of the information provided but also with respect to topicality, functionality and objectivity. What was found were 13 Czech complex websites, 7 professional HR organisations and also 6 non-professional HR websites. The websites of professional organisations in most cases fulfilled the essential criteria of authority, objectivity and topicality. Among non-professional websites there were high-quality ones containing a wide range of information and correct approach to drug issues but there were also two...

Kvalita z hlediska tlumočení jako strategického rozhodovacího procesu - direkcionalita a strategie při tlumočení právních textů / Quality and Strategic Decision Making in Simultaneous Interpreting - Directionality and Strategies in Conference Interpreting of Legal Speeches

Ďoubalová, Jana January 2019 (has links)
The dissertation provides a comprehensive analysis of the issue of quality in simultaneous interpreting. The theoretical part explores general questions related to quality in interpreting, namely the inherent difficulties encountered in defining quality, the issue of subjectivity in the assessment of quality, the different perspectives on quality and the issues surrounding the various quality criteria as suggested by different authors. The work focuses on the cognitive processes involved in simultaneous interpreting; concepts of working memory and cognitive load are discussed as well as their connection to the concept of interpreting as a decision-making process and a strategic behaviour. Quality is therefore understood as the capacity to efficiently and effectively manage available cognitive resources and to choose appropriate strategies to solve a particular problem in a specific interpreting situation, while taking into account the overall working conditions and the individual predispositions of the interpreter. The empirical part includes an analysis of actual interpreting of technical (legal) speeches. The technical nature of the speeches and the resulting linguistic and conceptual difficulties of the input material is considered to be a factor that increases cognitive load. The aim is to...

The whole São Lourenço harbour area is located in the southeast of Guanabara Bay (RJ – Brazil). Furthermore, it also houses “Porto de Niterói” (Niterói Harbour), which is the only cargo harbour in Niterói and other several shipyards. Apart from receiving domestic sewage discharges and possibly other unknown contribution sources from the Bay’s surrounding area, the Bay is contaminated by trace metals. This study shows the results of an accumulation evaluation as follows: Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn in short cores collected from three different sample stations in that harbour. Possible correlations involving indicating parameters of geochemichal processes such as granulometry, Total Carbon Concentrations (TOC), total sulphur (S), iron (Fe) and manganese (Mg) were evaluated. Enrichment factors (EFs) in relation to background and inventories (metal storage per sediment area) were calculated, and a comparison with international sediment quality values adopted by a local jurisdiction (Resolução CONAMA 344/2004) was conducted. The inventories which always showed the highest accumulation were collected from PN3 Station and the EF showed different trends among the stations. Both the inventories and the EF presented high levels of Cu, Pb and Zn contamination. On the other hand, Ni and Cr concentrations did not reach worrying levels. Higher concentrations of Cr, Cu, Pb and Zn were found at the station which was located at the external part of the harbour. There, Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb and Zn concentrations presented a correlation with Fe. At the station located at the internal area of the harbor, Pb had a correlation with Mn. TOC and S did not seem to affect directly trace–metal distribution, but they were used as a marine influence gradient indicator to sediment quality, which affects biogeochemical processes that retain metals. The concentration comparison of Cd, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb and Zn levels with international sediment quality criteria adopted by the Brazilian jurisdiction (Resolução CONAMA 344/2004) showed that Zn, Cu and Pb concentrations generate environmental concerns related to human activities, such as the management of dredged sediment, if such sediment dredging occurs in the studied areas.

Qualité de l'information des patients atteints de cancer et prise en compte du savoir profane : de la théorie à la pratique : à propos du programme SOR SAVOIR Patient de la Fédération Nationale des Centres de lutte contre le Cancer / Quality of cancer patient information and integration of patient knowledge : from theory to practice : about the SOR SAVOIR Patient program of the French Federation of Comprehensive Cancer Centre

Carretier, Julien 10 October 2013 (has links)
Their strong, variable and heterogeneous expectations, in terms of information on different aspects of the management of the disease, raise the question of the quality of the information made available to patients. The development of good-quality information materials and decision aids, dedicated to clinicians, such as clinical practice guidelines (CPG), or dedicated to patients, such as patient information leaflets, requires taking into account the three essential components of medical decision: current scientific data (evidence-based medicine), professional expertise and patient values and preferences. To be able to base medical decisions on these three dimensions, the challenge is to share with the patients current scientific data, and incorporate patient preferences in the development process of CPG. Our hypothesis is that it is possible to integrate the preferences of patients at two levels of knowledge production: the development of written patient information in the French SOR SAVOIR Patient program on the one hand, and development of CPG for clinicians on the other hand. The results of this work provide a methodological contribution to improve the quality of written documents and involve cancer patients in the development of this information.
