The soil O2 and CO2 concentration are the two most important gases related to soil microorganisms. Thus, this thesis was developed to observe the concentration and relationship between carbon dioxide (CO2) and oxygen (O2) under different residue systems. For that, we run two soil experiments in Brazil and the USA, respectively. The first experiment was developed to examine the relationship between CO2 and O2 using soil moisture and O2 as a soil respiration predictor in a sugarcane area under different managements of residues (mechanical harvesting - GH versus straw burning - BH). Therefore, the first experimental results are described in the Chapter 2 and entitled “Use of O2 uptake as an index of CO2 respiration in sugarcane areas under different managements”. We run the second soil experiment measuring biochar’s impact on CO2 production or sorption and O2 uptake in amended soils. Thus, we studied three soil types (Rosemount - RM; Potting soil Sunshine - PS; and UM) and five different biochars (Pine chip biochar - ICM; Royal Oak hardwood lump charcoal - RO; Accurel activated charcoal - AAC; Bamboo - B; and Macadamia nut - MC) and control treatment (Soil without biochar). Consequently, the results are described in the Chapter 3 and entitled “How O2 uptake can help us understand the CO2 sorption processes by biochar?”. Thus, we can conclude with our results that the concentration and relationship between FCO2 and FO2 depend on different systems and soil conditions, for example: soil crop residue managements, soil moisture and use of biochar. The FO2 is positively correlated with FCO2 at biological condition with respiratory quotient (RQ) values close to 1.0. Moreover, we can observe that RQ values higher than 1 are results of soil–gas exchange fluxes after precipitation or higher available on O2. Thus, the FO2 can be used as an index for categorizing the source of FCO2 respiration. To finish, we can observe that the biochar can be used to sequester CO2 from the atmosphere by the absence of biological activities in a short period of time. However, we believe that more study should be developed to elucidate the CO2 and O2 sorption by biochars and their reactions (biological and/or chemical) when added biochar in soil.

L'estimation à l'aide d'une variable auxiliaire

Elbaz, Malika January 2010 (has links) (PDF)
______________________________________________________________________________ MOTS-CLÉS DE L’AUTEUR : Estimateur, Quotient, Variable auxiliaire, Variable dichotomique.

Produces the danger industry jobholders to work the values, emotion quotient), and research of the work Performance relations - take works the life quality as the intermediary variable

Chang, Wen-Chih 05 December 2010 (has links)
In an era of information and scientific technology, the marketing value and competitive advantage of a company is determined by its staff. An eligible employee is able to provide the organization with an outstanding performance and productivity while an ineligible one can waste the administration costs of recruiting and job training. Therefore, it is crucial for a company to investigate the key factors of how its novices¡¦ job values interact with its culture and of how the novices¡¦ EQ (emotion quotient) influence their job performance. The investigation assists the company not only in improving the efficiency of the recruiting but also in redesigning the work environment and managerial system, so as to achieve the goals of attracting capable talents and raising competition. The main purpose of this thesis is to discuss the influence of the job values and EQ of the staff in property insurance on their job performance. Our study will target the staff members in Taiwan by questionnaires through ways of convenient sampling. According to our study, the job values of the insurance staff do not influence their job performances directly. Nevertheless, First, the insurance staff need to have many kinds of professional knowledge and broad visions. Second, their workplaces and job properties are flexible and variable. Third, the insurance staff have to know a little basic law knowledge, and they have to negotiate or communicate with people to achieve compromises. Fourth, it¡¦s common for the insurance staff to contact any kind of people. Fifth, the insurance staff have special feelings and conceptions for their job values, which differentiate them from those whose workplaces and job properties are fixed and standardized. Emotional Quotient and job performances are proved to have positive and influential relationships. Our evidence verifies that outstanding insurance staff are aware of their emotions and they develop good interpersonal relationships by hiding and adjusting their emotions. Besides, the outstanding insurance staff develop their social skills well by extending their interpersonal relationships with their colleagues and society. In the end, they achieve the goals set by their companies.

The original of industrial cluster analysis is to distinguish what is cluster. It is developing to overview industrial district and to conclude the potential industry. In the light of these defects, we cloud improve them for industrial development. This industrial cluster analysis of variables by literatures, including of Industrial Concentration Factor, Cluster Dependency Factor, Economic Prosperity Factor, and four strategic resources that influence development of cluster, including of High Quality Human Resource, Technology and Knowledge Resource, Infrastructure, Capital. Using the questionnaire and interview with members in the cluster. The results of research: (1)There is a orientation of TFT-LCD industrial cluster in the Southern Science Park and show a vertical industrial cluster than horizontal cluster. (2)Material and Key part of equipment is complete and available, but there is only one application firm that produces large TFT-LCD. (3) TFT-LCD industry is important in the district and creating economic development. (4)It is difficult to find many talents about TFT-LCD industry and High Quality Human Resource is positive effect to this cluster.(5)As a result of TFT-LCD industry is at initial stage, they have less demand of Technology and Knowledge Resource, but it is increasing in the future.(6)The films are satisfied of water and electricity system, but they think that the staff cloud not get better quality of life in the district.(7) As a result of using capital without borders and Taiwan¡¦s government take TFT-LCD industry seriously, the films get capital smoothly. The Cluster Strategy Improve The Development of Textile Industry-Silk and Filament District

Feng, Yi-Hsin 20 July 2004 (has links)
Since 1990 Porter has advert the conception that cluster could improve the competitive strength of textile industry, it has arouse highly attention of academe, also a lot of developed countries took this appearance of assemblage policy as the development policy for their industries. The textile industry of Taiwan has been developed around 50 years ago, in nearly years, ascribe to the rise of cost, the value of export continually decrease and the increase of abroad competitors, the textile industry has been considered as a declined industry. However, according to the research it¡¦s still one of the most important industry which can create a lot of foreign exchange; on 2001 Council For Economic Planning And Development has planned to build a silk and filament district in Yunlin particular for the textile industry , for assemble the textile industry and push Taiwanese industries into the textile center of Asia-pacific. According to this research we would like to know how the cluster strategy could improve the development of textile industry in Taiwan. Mainly use Location Quotient analysis to know if the textile industry is the most important basal industry in this area, and with all the related documents we could realist the crux element of the development of cluster strategy, then we could have talk with related industries and companies, in this way we may have a complete view of the whole situation in this industry and the project of having this special area. The combination of above descriptions, we could understand this special area of the textile industry and the production environment, find out the lack part and create a millennium for the development of textile industry. The result of this research discovered that according to the analysis of this industry, the textile industry has highly central tendency and it is the main industry of this area; but according to the crux element of the development, it does not have strong enough connection between local companies and it does not have good enough interactive with schools in this area, it may cause the lack of talent people, knowledge and research. In the future, it is going to be a very important issue that we have to consider about, aggrandize the connection between the local companies and the interactive with schools.

Analysis of Telomere Length in Patients with Mental Retardation

Lin, Ching-Hua 16 August 2001 (has links)
Telomeres are located at the ends of all eukaryotic chromosomes and provide the stability of chromosomes. They consist of simple tandem hexametric repeats and play an important part in cell longevity. In human lymphocytes, telomeres shorten progressively with age. Mental retardation (MR) is a disorder with intelligence quotient below average (IQ < 70) and impairment in adaptive skills. IQ by Weschsler Adult Intelligence Scales revised (WAIS-R) appears to peak in the of 30-34 and thereafter decline gradually. Life expectancy is defined as the number of years remaining to be lived. The overall increase in life expectancy indicates an improvement in longevity. The life expectancy of MR patients is shorter than that of the general population. The purpose of this study is to predict the relationship between telomere length and IQ in normal control as well as to analyze the differences among the average telomere length for the control and subgroups of MR cases. Fifty-nine patients who met the fourth edition of Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) criteria for mental retardation were included in this study. According to the degree of intellectual impairment, MR patients were divided into 4 types: mild, moderate, severe, and profound. Fifty-two female nursing students aged 19-21 were recruited as normal controls. DNA was isolated from their lymphocytes. Telomere length was analyzed by Southern blot hybridization. The length was calculated by the Photo CaptMw Version 99.03 software. Correlation between the telomere length and IQ in normal control was performed by the Pearson product-moment correlation. One-way ANOVA was used to test if any differences existed among the normal, mild, moderate, severe, and profound MR. Analyses displayed that there were no correlations between telomere length and IQ including PIQ(r=-0.001; p=0.922), VIQ(r=-0.033; p=0.817), TIQ(r=-0.026, p=0.857), and no difference existed among the normal and subgroups of MR cases. Results obtained from this study indicated that life expectancy of MR patients may approximate to that of the general population if live in the well environment.

Titta, det rör sig! : Pupillen avslöjar känslighet för biologisk rörlese hos 10-månader gamla barn

Edorsdotter, Anna-Lena January 2012 (has links)
