Mutual Fund Investment based on Genetic AlgorithmChen, Chih-shiang 21 October 2011 (has links)
This research proposes a decision and behavior model which tries to approximate the fund trading. The main idea is based on the principle of the publication ¡§Genetic Algorithms for the Investment of the Mutual Fund with Global Trend Indicator¡¨, and four optimization schemes are proposed as well. First, the calculation of GTI is refined to prevent the possible problems caused by the case that all the fund are getting rise, or the opposite. Second, the tolerance is considered to avoid the reduction of profits owing to the increase of rates for transaction which Funds, those near threshold ones, might exchange ranking too often. Third, the concept of Stop-Loss Point is involved to release the fund dynamically instead of oversell. The last, Someone like to investment more profitable with short-term data, but high-risk. Someone like to investment long-term data, therefore, we added (1-£\)History + (£\)Recent to make users could set by themselves. And we also design genetic algorithm to calculate £\ for reference.
Under the constraints of three different coefficients of stop-loss and release, the Return of Investment (ROI) is four times than original one(8.98%), which is compared in 2007.

This diploma thesis called "Investment in real estates as a method how to secure a retirement" describes in its first part alternative possibilities of saving money for a retirement and briefly mentions pension replacement rates in the Czech Republic and other countries. In the next chapter there are definitions of basic real estate field terms, descriptions of taxes connected with transactions in the realty market and basic valuation method. In the practical part trend of housing development, level of housing and course of realty price are analysed. In the next chapter return on investment in region areas is calculated. The development of a mortgage market is outlined and thus a profitability of investment into flats followed by their rental in selected cities in the Czech Republic is calculated.

The main objective of this thesis is to provide the management of a company with a self- contained view on problems associated with the Contact Management as one component of the implementation of Customer Relationship Management (CRM). The thesis is primarily drawn from internet sources in order to obtain the most realistic and accurate view of given problems. The introductory part of this thesis focuses on an analysis of the areas that affect the success of the implementation of Contact Management. It highlights problems with the quality of data in companies, introduces the contributions of business architecture, and the concept of a single customer view within a company. The following part of the thesis focuses on problems involving the integration of data within a company and analyzes the problem areas concerned with the implementation of a uniform integration platform. The main part of the thesis focuses primarily on the return of investment from an application operating Contact Management and also from an active data warehouse as one of the possible solutions for the implementation of Contact Management. The thesis provides a detailed view of the classification of costs and benefits, which is necessary for relevant analysis. Together with a view on the return of investment, the thesis also analyses the design of systems for the management of the active data warehouse. The final part of the thesis focuses on problems with the implementation of householding as one part of Contact Management. This explains a possible way to implement householding within a company. The main contribution of this thesis is, firstly, to develop an overall view of the problems of Contact Management and, secondly, to provide the management of a company with information which is necessary for appropriate decisions about the solution that will radically affect the success of the entire company.

Businesses that actively engage in integrated internal communication practices should theoretically be more likely to foster employee engagement during change management interventions. Competitive forces and a dynamic business environment compel most organisations to continuously review the relevance of their current business operating model. As a result, organisations develop new strategies or revise existing ones. Part of the change management process of executing a strategy is the ability to communicate it to employees, in a manner that ensures alignment between strategy and employee. The communication process therefore must seek to effect behavioural changes among its recipients. This paper investigates the practices of a business unit of an organisation in the financial services sector which has recently undertaken an extensive strategic communication exercise. Through a series of survey questions and interviews, the research seeks an answer to the question of whether integrated internal communication initiatives are effective in changing employee behaviour. Furthermore, the report investigates the forces that either inhibit or promote internal communication; and engages communication practitioners to determine whether return on investment metrics are implemented that link internal communication initiatives to financial performance. Results from the research revealed that strategic communication does have the capacity to affect employee engagement, but if left unchecked, factors such as language, distance and education have the capacity to inhibit effective communication initiatives. The Impact of BIM/VDC on ROI : Developing a Financial Model for Savings and ROI Calculation of Construction ProjectsSalih, Sen January 2012 (has links)
Building Information Modeling (BIM) or Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) recently has been regarded as crucial by the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. The use of BIM/VDC represents the creation and use of a three-dimensional (3D) virtual model that amplifies the design, construction, and operation of a building. This technological improvement fundamentally changes the process of how the buildings are designed and constructed. However, the approach to the use of advanced technology in the AEC industry does not seem to be welcomed by the majority of the industry regarding high initial cost of implementation. This study presents data gathered from meetings, interviews and a case study which was a construction project run in Sweden to determine the savings implementing BIM/VDC and to reveal the return on investment (ROI) from a general contractor (GC) perspective. The potential savings to the GC to invest in BIM/VDC were estimated based on the PENG model, measurable cost benefits associated with reduced schedule overruns and reduced change order cost. This thesis confirmed that BIM/VDC results in vast savings and positive impacts on ROI based on the results from the case study which deployed it successfully.

This investigation examines the bottle packaging conveyor system and its impact on the overall efficiency at a bottle packaging plant in Anderson, South Carolina. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the existing opportunity to reduce bottle unit cost, increase productivity, decrease the risk of work related injuries, and improve line reliability along with employee moral with the conveying system alone.
Data was gathered for this study in three ways: One, bottle packaging line lead operators were required to document the start and stop times of the conveyor system on their respective lines for six weeks. Two, a conveyor machine operator was required to document the start and stops of the conveyor system itself along with the cause for the same six weeks. Three, a packaging conveyor system project form was randomly submitted to 51 employees, soliciting their opinions and suggestions for the conveyor system. Conclusions of the study show opportunities for improvement and an overwhelming disapproval (88%) of the current system. Three improvement proposals were determined based on all the data collected.

Attempts have been made by researchers to identify how to measure key impacts of social media in relation to marketing; however, there remains a lack of empirical data and no comprehensive overview of what “ROI” can mean for an organisation seeking returns on their social media adoption. By knowing how to measure ROI from social media, companies can produce valuable insights which can help enhance marketing strategies in promoting their products/services. Thus, the aim of this chapter is to provide a review of ROI in social media marketing with a particular focus on intangible outcomes such as brand awareness, customer engagement/relationship and eWOM.

Yes / Return on investment (ROI) from social media marketing activities has attracted significant attention from academics and practitioners resulting in an increasing number of studies on this important topic. The current study conducted a bibliometric analysis to provide a consolidated view on the topic of ROI in social media marketing. By using 115 outputs from the Web of Science database and employing software CiteSpace the study presents and discusses the analysis of temporal distribution, cited countries, cited journals, cited authors, and research hotspots from 2009 till 2020. A holistic picture of this topic will help researchers to get an overview of this field and develop directions for future studies.
