FPGA-design av en STDM-baserad multiplexer för seriell multiprotokollskommunikation / A FPGA design of a STDM-based multiplexer for serial multi protocol communication

Janson, Robert, Mottaghi, Amir January 2012 (has links)
The remotely operated underwater vehicles that the client develops have needs of different kinds of data channels. In order to minimize the need of physical cable between the control unit and a ROV, a multiplex protocol has been developed. The protocol has been designed with the aim of using the bandwidth of the transferring link as efficient as possible. The different kinds of data channels used during this thesis project is; RS232, RS485 and CAN. ROM and FIFO-memories have been used to be able to effectively manage the different data channels. All the reading and sending of these channels have been implemented in FPGA-technology, the coding is made generic so that it will be easier to add more channels to the system in the future. The multiplex protocol is a modified version of the method STDM and it is a proprietary protocol. Calculations has been made in MatLab to ensure that the protocol does not exceed the maximal bandwidth that is available. The protocol utilizes the error-detecting technique CRC for the purpose of error detection. A PCB has been developed during this thesis project, the PCB is made so that the different data channels have connection with the FPGA circuit.

Návrh pozičního systému / Position system design

Balogh, Jaroslav January 2011 (has links)
The purpose of this diploma thesis was to explore possibilities, design and build 2D position system driven by PC via USB. ATmega16 and FT232R were used as the most important parts of hardware solution. Software for control of the position system was designed in C++ Builder and it can run under MS Windows XP. This work is based on semestral thesis and in future can be used in other applications or modified. 2D position system will be later used by UBMI in education and scientific applications.

A RECONFIGURABLE SENSOR NETWORK FOR VEHICLE SYSTEM AND ITS RELIABILITY PREDICTION

Kim, Joonyun, Jung, Haeseung, Lee, Jae-Deuk, Kim, Bo-Gwan 10 1900 (has links)
ITC/USA 2005 Conference Proceedings / The Forty-First Annual International Telemetering Conference and Technical Exhibition / October 24-27, 2005 / Riviera Hotel & Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / This paper suggests a reconfigurable sensor network (data bus) which is well suited for telemetry mission of rockets and launch vehicles. Reconfiguration of sensors’ channel information can be achieved without additional software and hardware. The proposed network consists of a central unit and multiple remote units with RS-485 data bus. Since those units need only an FPGA and a programmable ROM to be implemented, the network can provide minimum costs and high reliability. And this paper also presents reliability prediction result of a unit based on MIL-HDBK-217F and Monte Carlo simulation.

RS-485 BASED MEASUREMENT SYSTEM WITH SCPI COMMAND SET CONTROLLED BY HP-VEE APPLICATION

Zareba, Grzegorz 10 1900 (has links)
International Telemetering Conference Proceedings / October 22-25, 2001 / Riviera Hotel and Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada / This article presents a measurement system based on the RS-485 interface. The presented system is an alternative solution for distributed measurement systems, which cannot be built using IEEE-488 interface due to distance limitation between elements of the system. The RS-485 interface is a base for communication between measurement instruments and uses a Master-Slave protocol to exchange data between them. One dedicated master device, usually a PC, controls all slave devices connected to the interface. To control measurement devices SCPI language is used. This solution simplifies communication between measurement devices and allows utilizing the HP-VEE environment to control any SCPI devices connected to the RS-485 network.

Data communication and power supply on a two conductor system

Andersson, Tobias, Toft, Jonathan January 2018 (has links)
This master thesis aimed to develop a prototype of a hardware platform which allowed digital communication as well as DC power to be transmitted over one pair of wires. The prototype was used as a pre-study for Axis Communications AB that wanted a bit rate high enough to transmit digital audio, as well as enough power to supply a set of speakers. The prototype included one circuit to send power and data (master), as well as two receivers (slaves). With this configuration data rates of up to 17 Mbps were achieved as well as an output power of 90 W from master. The data was transmitted on a RS-485 bus type, which was AC coupled to a 48 V DC bias. Because of the AC coupling, the bit stream needed to alternate, therefore Manchester encoded data, or similar, was recommended. The receiver cards included a buck converter to supply the circuits with a stable 5 V DC. The converters needed at least 10 V supply voltage to function, which gave a theoretical max range in cabling when accounting for voltage drop in the cables. For a 0.75 mm² power cord at max allowed current, this range was 500 metres per wire.

Přípravek pro emulaci senzorů / Sensor emulation tool

Gromeš, Jan January 2020 (has links)
The goal of this thesis is design of platform capable of sensor output emulation. The platform allows to emulate either digital sensors, communicating over UART, SPI, I2C, CAN and RS-485 buses, or analog sensors and sensors with frequency output. Design of computer interface to configure the platform is also a part of the thesis. Special emphasis is placed on the universality and overall user-friendliness of the entire system.

Vařečka, Radek January 2008 (has links)
The concept proposal of the RFID security terminal is described in this Master Thesis. The RFID identification and its usage are analyzed at first. The description of the selected fitting circuits, communication bus as well as its parameters follows. The practical realization, proposed module design and designed printed circuit board is described afterwards. Several problems found during activation phase are analyzed in the chapter describing the practical module realization. The problem resolution is mentioned as well. The practical prove of the real module parameters and differences compared to the designed values are described at the end of this Master Thesis.
