Further, through class observation, formal/informal interviews, and the researcher¡¦s reflections, the teachers¡¦ practices of teaching methods, teaching content analysis, curriculum planning, teaching priority setting, preparation, and other teaching related factors were discussed. Data were analyzed according to the subjects of the content. The major findings are as follows: 1. In case A, the teacher had outstanding performance on game-oriented teaching. The interaction between the teacher and students was natural and energetic. The fun-way teaching method lighted up the class atmosphere and improved students¡¦ learning effect; children were willing to actively participate in the learning process when encouraged by incentive system. 2. In case B, the teacher effectively guided students to summarizing main points, often using spiral curriculum to connect one teaching subject to another. Children learned through down-to-earth teaching steps, and the learning results were presented through an item-by-item writing mode from the teacher. 3. The teacher of case A extended the teaching content with a broad variety and diversity while the teacher of case B wrapped up teaching highlights in every respect. Both teachers combined the textbooks with the information and knowledge of other fields, thereby effectively intensifying and broadening students¡¦ learning. Thus, they helped enrich the students¡¦ everyday knowledge and views. 4. The teacher of case A focused on the learning of Mandarin characters, phonetics, interpretation, phrase usage, and sentence making. The goal was to strengthen students¡¦ basic abilities. The teacher of case B stressed on cultivation of students¡¦ listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills.

Silva, Dilce Teresinha Assunção da January 2016 (has links)
The inclusion in elementary education is largely in the realm of education of children with disability and special educational needs. In Brazil, the inclusion is predicted by the National Guidelines for Special Education in Basic Education, by using Especialized Educational Services, with participation of special education teachers. In this study, it was sought to identify how a public school of Porto Alegre manages students from primary and secondary education, with learning disabilities. The school uses a designated room, namely a Resource Room (RR), in which ongoing projects and strategies are purposed for circumventing learning disabilities. Over eight years, a special education teacher has been responsible by the maintenance, organization and administration of this space. The room is part of the Pedagogic Political Project (PPP) of the school. In the RR the activities are conducted in small groups, the teacher has worked different types of intellectual disabilities with some of them without diagnosis. Thus, a work more directed towards each learning disability is more difficult. Among adopted learning strategies, the teacher uses materials built by students themselves, since there is a shortage of resources in the school. The teacher mobilizes and encourages the students with activities and knowledge to be applied in everyday life. The educational proposal from this research is precisely to act on the individuals who are necessarily different, with space and access to education, which is the case of Especialized Educational Services. The work should be made with specific materials and schedules for every need, leading to an improvement of development of skills of every student. A criterion should be established in order to plan a work with materials and specific schedules for each student, being more focused on the development and improvement of their skills. It will be expected that data and discussions may contribute to the understanding and visibility of educational projects taking into account the limits and challenges of practices to promote learning.

Fróes, Marco Antonio de Melo January 2015 (has links)
This research aimed to understand how the Educational Service Specialist / Integration Room and Visual Resources collaborates in the schooling process of visually impaired people. The analysis favored potential existing links between specialized education with mainstream education. The issues that prompted the authors of this study were: how to perform tasks for students with visual impairment in a curriculum that values the writing over other forms of learning? As has been done the work of the Integration and Resource Room - SIR Visual, within the Municipal School of Porto Alegre? The empirical research took place in a school of the Municipal System of Porto Alegre Education, which has prioritized the school inclusion policies for the Educational Service Specialist, considering the way that this service was being held over the years, identifying aspects from reflections of systems thinking of Gregory Bateson and cultural-historical theory of Lev Vygotsky. The research opted for a qualitative approach using the following methodological tools: semi-structured interviews, participant observation and the field diary. Data analysis found the importance of specialized educational services, specifically the Integration and Resource Room - Visual in the process of school inclusion of students with visual impairment, guiding, supervising and providing an adequate job to the needs of parents, students, and especially , the teacher of the regular classroom. It was also demonstrated the difficulty of communication between the coordinating teachers of the Integration and Resource Room with teachers from the regular classroom.
