Bezpečnost platebních karet / Payment cards security

Fuchs, Michal January 2013 (has links)
This thesis aims to identify and evaluate the risks related to payment cards and their use. The main focus is the methods used to commit card related fraud and possible methods of protection related to this topic. First of all, the technology that is nowadays used in relation with the payment cards is analyzed and its weaknesses and attacks used to gather card information are described. After that, statistical data related to card fraud are analyzed in relation with different world regions. Qualitative analysis of risk related to payment card use is performed on the statistical data of ECB for the cards issued in Czech Republic. The qualitative analysis is then followed by recommendations that are designed to limit the risk's impact or probability. To verify the recommendations, a survey is carried out.

No. of bitstreams: 1 Kelly Cristina dos Prazeres.pdf: 1201762 bytes, checksum: e5056054c75d07998a8d444b84358bcb (MD5) Previous issue date: 2017-02-21 / Diclofenac and its metabolites are frequently reported in the literature and have already been detected in surface water from several countries, such as Germany, Sweden, Greece, Taiwan, Switzerland and Spain. Their damage to the environment to human health is causing concern, as they can increase bacterial resistance, feminization of fish and reduction of human sperm production, etc. Thus, this work aimed at monitoring the presence of diclofenac in drinking water and effluent in a city in the Greater São Paulo Region, evaluating the risks of soil contamination, aquatic environments and human health. A questionnaire was developed in order to measure the level of population knowledge about the impacts caused by the irregular disposal of diclofenac. During the application of the questionnaires were collected water supply samples. Samples of sanitary sewage effluents were also collected in the ETEs exit channel of the same city. Analyzes were performed by UV/vis spectrophotometry using potassium permanganate as to oxidize diclofenac in acidic medium. A risk matrix has been developed to verify what danger situation the city is in. The results presented in the tabulation of the questionnaire data showed that 72% of the interviewees practiced incorrect disposal of the drugs (garbage, toilet and sink). And, the analyzes in the samples detected the presence of diclofenac in effluent water (5.0 mg.L-1) and in the supply water (between 2.5 and 3.1 mg.L-1). This may be a consequence of these incorrect discards. In this way, the risk analysis showed that under current conditions the water bodies can lead to catastrophic or serious consequences with very high probability of occurrence of resistant bacteria, death of aquatic species, anticipated hatching of animal eggs, cell mutation and liver inflammation In animals and delayed growth and decreased reproduction due to sperm reduction in humans. Thus, this work was able to identify the presence of diclofenac in samples of water supply and sanitary effluent; Serving as an alert for Public Bodies to make decisions in order to minimize their effects on the environment and the human being.

Serrano Lombillo, Armando José 01 August 2011 (has links)
Proposal of procedure for analysis of alternatives of maintenance for pavement management systems.

Silva, Amanda Helena Marcandali da 18 November 2016 (has links)
This thesis presents a procedure for the performing analysis and selection of strategies for the maintenance of road pavements in highways networks, by proposing a model of pavement management system that includes risk analysis. The work proposes the concomitant analysis of several highways that are managed by the same institution, in order to identify the effects of the individual maintenance strategies on the total costs for the administration of the network. For this purpose, the elements from project-level and network-level analysis are integrated with additional elements, especially those related to risk information, diverse in nature and with the capacity of impact on the system\'s analysis. The fundamental concepts of pavement management systems for both network-level and project-level are applied in the proposed procedure as the majority of the required data is common in both levels. The main purpose of the integration between the levels is to increase the reliability of the results. Thus, the structure begins at project-level, which includes detailed information about the condition of the pavements. In this step, the homogeneous segments are well delimited and the use of correlation obtained variables is indicated. These elements allow the proposed interventions to be more assertive on a short-term period. The indicators selected for the connection between project-level and network-level come from direct measurements on the conditions of the pavements. It is more convenient to use variables that are in line with contractual requirements or performance indicators. At the network level, homogeneous segmentation is oriented to provide not detailed results but to consider the larger scale. That includes, from statistically point of view, performance variations, common on projections for the medium and long-term. For the procedure, analysis scenarios are elaborated, in line with policies, objectives, constraints, and other aspects that may influence the selection of strategies for pavements interventions. The expansion of the elements considered in the analysis, which results in the proposed level, includes specific studies on risks. The various risks involved in the management of roads have been deeply explored due to the increasing participation of private partners in concession contracts. Therefore, the risks are considered in the different levels of the organizations. From those risks, the ones that are related and imply in a greater impact in the management of pavements are elected. The case study conducted to present the procedure includes the analysis of three highways under concession of a PPP (Private Public Partnership), considering its specific characteristics and pavements conditions, and contractual requirements. From the case study it is possible to draw attention to important aspects of the analysis at a macro network-level, contributing to the construction of highly oriented systems.

Strategies for Reducing Supplier Risk: Inputs into the Supply Chain

Greene, Christopher A 23 March 2016 (has links)
There are many aspects to consider when managing an entire supply chain from procurement to fulfillment. Complex assemblies require hundreds of components, sourced from all corners of the globe, to come together in a synchronized fashion. Given the magnitude of the supply chain, high quality standards, and significantly increased outsourcing, there is a strong need to monitor supplier risk and quickly identify and mitigate potential problems. Moreover, the continuous pressure to reduce resources and pressure to cut costs, further increases the need for the development of procedures and tools that can quickly and efficiently address these potential supply chain risks. This thesis focuses on two unique problems brought to our attention by supply chain managers in the field. The first is the analysis of the robustness of advanced ordering strategies (AOS). AOS have been proposed in previous research to coordinate the delivery of components for complex assemblies with long and highly variable lead times. They have been shown to be highly successful to synchronize the supply chain under on-going conditions. It is not clear; however, their effect as the underlying performance of suppliers evolves over time. The second topic covers the methodological foundation and development of a tool to accurately classify suppliers based off risk, and provides a method to calculate final assembly risk, in addition to guiding the deployment of scarce supplier development teams and resources.
