Teve como propósito responder à seguinte questão-problema: as informações transmitidas aos atores escolares sobre o PAAE estão sendo apropriadas por eles de forma adequada e suficiente para a utilização do programa de acordo com suas propostas? Buscou-se com este questionamento entender as causas da rejeição que o PAAE sofre no ambiente escolar, considerando que o nível de entendimento do PAAE pelos profissionais das escolas interfere na sua aceitação e, consequentemente, nos resultados esperados descritos no desenho do programa. Para alcançar o objetivo proposto para esta dissertação, foi realizada uma pesquisa de campo com as metodologias quantitativa e qualitativa, utilizando questionário para os professores e entrevistas semiestruturadas para os diretores de 7 escolas, cujos resultados indicaram que a rejeição dos usuários ao PAAE pode ter relação com a falta de conhecimento sobre os objetivos das avaliações que o compõem. Amparada pela teoria de estudiosos da educação como Demo (2000 e 2004), Furlan (2007), Gadotti (1984), Libâneo (1998), Lück (2000a, 2000b, 2009), Luckesi (2000, 2001 e 2005), Pimenta (2005), Silva (2002), procurou-se possibilidades para que a SRE de Uberlândia possa atuar, de forma mais eficaz, no que se refere ao uso dos resultados do PAAE nas escolas. Nesse sentido, buscou-se elaborar, ao final do trabalho, uma proposta de ação com vistas a reestruturar as capacitações oferecidas aos atores escolares, visando melhorar seu entendimento e aceitação pelo programa. / This work aimed to analyze the way the evaluations of School Learning Assessment Program - SAAP are being used in 7 jurisdictional state schools by SRE Uberlândia that offer the 1st year of high school. Aimed to answer the question - problem: the information sent to school actors on the SAAP are appropriate for them to appropriate and sufficient for use of the program according to your proposals? Sought with this questioning understand the causes of rejection that the SAAP suffer at school, whereas the level of understanding of the SAAP by school professionals interfere in its acceptance and hence the expected results described in program design. To achieve the proposed objective for this thesis, a field research was conducted with the quantitative and qualitative methodologies, using a questionnaire for teachers and semi-structured interviews to the directors of 7 schools, the results indicated that the rejection of the users to the SAAP may be related with the lack of knowledge about the objectives of ratings that comprise it. Backed by scholars theory of education as Demo ( 2000 and 2004 ), Furlan (2007 ), Gadotti (1984 ), Libâneo (1998 ), Lück ( 2000a, 2000b, 2009), Luckesi (2000, 2001 and 2005), Pimenta ( 2005), Silva (2002), it was also possible for the SRE Uberlândia can act in a more effective manner, as regards the use of the SAAP results in schools. In this sense, we attempted to prepare, at the end of the work, a proposal for action in order to restructure the training offered to school actors, to improve their understanding and acceptance by the program.

Compressão extrínseca da artéria poplítea em indivíduos assintomáticos atletas e não atletas

Os sintomas clínicos costumam aparecer quando os indivíduos realizam esforços físicos. Distinguem-se dois tipos de SAAP: a clássica ou congênita e a funcional ou adquirida. Na forma clássica, distúrbios do desenvolvimento embrionário provocam anomalias da artéria poplítea ou de estruturas adjacentes que ocasionam a compressão. Na forma funcional ou adquirida, identifica-se apenas hipertrofia dos músculos gastrocnêmios como possível causa do encarceramento. O diagnóstico, em ambos os tipos, é feito pela detecção de oclusão ou estenose significativa da artéria poplítea às manobras de dorsiflexão e hiperextensão ativa dos pés, utilizando-se o mapeamento dúplex, a ressonância magnética ou a arteriografia. A identificação desses testes positivos em indivíduos assintomáticos e sem alterações anatômicas, trouxe questionamentos a respeito da especificidade dos testes diagnósticos. Neste trabalho é feita uma revisão da SAAP anatômica e funcional, além de serem discutidas a acurácia, sensibilidade e especificidade dos testes diagnósticos em cada caso. / The popliteal artery entrapment syndrome (PAES) is characterized by extrinsic compression of this artery as a result of anatomic deviation from its usual course, or by compression from musculotendinous structures in the popliteal fossa. Clinical symptoms onset when these affect individuals are undergoing stressing exercise. There are two types of PAES: classical or congenital form, and a functional acquired form. In the classical form, disturbances in the embryogenesis lead either directly to popliteal artery anomalies or to alterations of adjacent structures which cause compression of the popliteal artery. In the functional form, hypertrophy of the gastrocnemius muscle secondary to exercise has been postulated as a cause. In both types, diagnosis is made in subjects, on finding total occlusion or important stenosis of the popliteal artery. This is identified by duplex scan, magnetic resonance or arteriography during active plantar flexion-extension. A positive test in non-symptomatic subjects presenting no anatomical anomalies led to discussion regarding its sensibility and specificity. A review of anatomical and functional PAES besides a discussion about accuracy, sensibility and specificity of those diagnostics tests was made in this study.

One Bead One Compound Screening for Cyclic Peptide Binding Partners

In recent years a significant research focus has been on the development of biomimicking three-dimensional substrates for cell culturing. Hydrogels mimicking the extracellular matrix is a well-suited scaffold for this purpose and there are many different ways these can be cross-linked to retain their shape. The group of Molecular Materials at IFM, Linköping University, is focusing on the development of physical hydrogels hybridized through peptide-peptide interactions but all peptides used for this today are created using rational design and on top of this very large, making them time-consuming and expensive to fabricate. The aim of this project was to evaluate if One Bead One Compound (OBOC) libraries could be used as an alternative to rational design in the finding of cyclic peptide binding partners used in the hybridization of hydrogels. The results were not very promising though since only seven peptides passed all screening steps and of these only two could be sequenced. Of these two, only one was water soluble enough to enable binding interactions analysis but was then found to be a false hit. Nevertheless, it should be noticed that only a fraction of all possible combinations was screened and the results cannot exclude OBOC libraries as an approach in the quest of finding new cyclic peptide binding partners.
