Évolution de la structure en couches dans les noyaux de masse moyenne : recherche de l'orbitale 2d5/2 neutron dans le noyau 69Ni / Evolution of the shell structure in medium-mass nuclei : search for the 2d5/2 neutron orbital in 61Ni

Moukaddam, Mohamad 08 March 2012 (has links)
The harmonic oscillator shell closure at N=40 in 68Ni is weak and loses its strength when removing (or adding) pair of protons. Calculations performed in this mass region predict a new island of inversion at N=40 similar to the one at N=20. Using a large valence space, the neutron orbital 2d5/2 is shown to be a crucial ingredient for the interpretation of the nuclear structure at N≈40. The neutron 1g9/2-2d5/2 energy difference has been determined in 69Ni using the d(68Ni,p) transfer reaction in inverse kinematics. The experiment performed at GANIL used a 68Ni beam at 25.14 MeV/u seperated by the LISE3 spectrometer was impinging a CD2 target of 2.6 mg/cm2 thickness. The experimental setup consisted of CATS/MUST2-S1/EXOGAM detectors coupled to an ionization chamber and a plastic scintillator. The angular momenta and spectroscopic factors of the ground state (Jπ = 9/2+) and a doublet of states ( Jπ = 5/2+) around 2.48 MeV corresponding to the population of the 1g9/2 and the 2d5/2 orbitals, were obtained from the comparison between the experimental cross-sections as a function of the proton detection angle and ADWA calculations. The spins of the observed states were assigned by comparaison to large scale Shell-Model calculations. The position of the 2d5/2 orbital in 69Ni has been established for the first time. Our measurements support the hypothesis of a low-lying 2d5/2 orbital (≈2,5 MeV) with respect to the 1g9/2 neutron orbital and thus its major role in the structure of the nuclei around N=40.

Probing the nuclear structure in the vicinity of 78Ni via beta decay spectroscopy of 84Ga / Etude de la structure nucléaire au voisinage de 78Ni par décroissance de 84Ga

Kolos, Karolina 24 September 2012 (has links)
Thanks to advances in production of radioactive nuclear beams in the last two decades, we are able to study nuclear systems very far from stability. The region of the nuclear landscape in the vicinity of 78Ni remains still unexplored. This region, with very neutron-rich 78Ni hypothetically considered as a doubly magic core, is interesting in terms of nuclear structures. The experimental information is equally important to guide the emerging shell-model effective interactions in this region. We have studied -decay of a neutron rich 84Ga isotope at the ALTO facility in IPN Orsay (France). The fission fragments were produced with photo-fission reaction induced by 50 MeV electron beam in a thick UCx target. For the first time the maximum electron driver beam intensity at ALTO - 10uA - was used. The gallium atoms were selectively ionized with a newly developed laser ion source. With this ion source the ionization of the gallium was more than ten times higher compared to the surface ion source previously used by our group. The ions were separated with the PARRNe mass separator and implanted on a movable mylar tape. Two germanium detectors in close geometry were used for the detection of gamma-rays and gamma-gamma coincidence measurement, and a plastic for beta tagging. We present the results of our experiment: the improved level schemes of the neutron-rich 83,84Ge and 84As isotopes. We discuss their structure and compare the experimental results with the shell model calculations made with the new effective interaction ni78-jj4b with 78Ni core, constructed in the framework of this thesis.

Finita Element-modell av pontoner till skepp avsett för vinskraftsinstallationer till havs / Finite Element-model of pontoons for ships intendedfor offshore wind power installations

Solnevik, Rebecca, von Stöckel, Rasmus January 2024 (has links)
Today, there is a significant demand for electricity, a demand expected to increase in the coming years. To meet market needs, the number of offshore wind turbines is increasing, along with their dimensions to generate a greater amount of electricity. This leads to anecessity for a new generation of freight ships with bigger dimensions and capacity for transportation and installation of wind turbine components. Finite Element models enable comprehensive analyses of the hull beams' components, bulkheads, and supports, providing relevant information about the hull's stress impact for different load combinations. The advantage of creating a model is to provide a clear overview while allowing the product to be simulated before production, facilitating a better understanding of the product's future function and appearance. A Finite Element model's analysis results largely reflect reality and thus constitute a valuable tool for ship production. In SAP2000, a shell model was created over a pontoon with interconnected beam and shell elements. The model was simulated with loads from self-weight combined with hydrostatic pressure in combination with various sets of hull components. Four simulations were performed with analyses of shell and frame stresses, showing that a stronger construction results in less stress variation in the pontoon's constituent elements. The upper side of the pontoon did not meet the tolerance values of ±50 MPa for either frame or shell elements in the first analysis. When the frame dimensions were increased, the shell elements met the stress level criteria, but the frame elements still significantly exceeded the tolerance values. An increased plate thickness was not beneficial for the structure’s stress load as the self-weight increased without providing additional stiffness.

利用GPS觀測量構建台灣南部地區網格式電離層模型 / A Study on Grid-Based Ionosphere Modeling of Southern Taiwan Region Using GPS Measurements

Wu,Shiang Chung Unknown Date (has links)
The ionospheric delay is one of the main sources of error in precise GPS positioning and navigation. The magnitude of the ionospheric delay is related to the Total Electron Content (TEC) along the radio wave path from a GPS satellite to the ground receiver. The TEC is a function of many variables, including long and short term changes in solar ionising flux, magnetic activity, season of the year, time of day, user location and viewing direction. A dual-frequency GPS receiver can eliminate (to the first order) the ionospheric delay through a linear combination of L1 and L2 observables. However, the majority of civilians use low-cost single-frequency GPS receivers that cannot use this option. Consequently, it is beneficial to estimate ionospheric delays over the region of interest, in real-time, in support of single-frequency GPS positioning and navigation applications. In order to improve real-time regional ionosphere modelling performance, a grid-based algorithm is proposed. Data from the southern Taiwan region GPS network were used to test the ionosphere modelling algorithms. From the test results described here, it is shown that the performance of real-time regional ionosphere modelling is improved significantly when the proposed algorithm is used.

Vida-média do estado isomérico 7(-) do núcleo ímpar-ímpar 68Ga / Lifetime of the 7(-) isomeric state of the odd-odd nucleus 68Ga

Escudeiro, Rafael 13 April 2018 (has links)
Isomeric nuclear states are nuclear states which decay with long lifetimes (T1/2 > 10 ns); their study generally reveals, a large change in angular momentum in its decay, a small matrix element or a small transition energy. By measuring lifetimes of isomeric states it is possible to obtain information about this states wave function, being a robust test for nuclear models. In this work, a system developed at the Laboratório Aberto de Fsica Nuclear (LAFN) of University of São Paulo called System for the Measurement of Isomeric States (SISMEI) was utilized. Delayed coincidence between evaporated particles in a nuclear reaction and the delayed gamma-rays emitted from the isomeric state was used to measure lifetimes. SISMEI is composed of plastic scintillators for particle detection, hiperpure germanium detectors (HPGe) and sodium iodide (NaI(Tl)) for gamma-ray detection, coupled to a coincidence system, located on 30A beam line of the Pelletron (8UD) accelerator - LAFN. In the present work, an experiment to measure the 7 (-) (E = 1229.87(4) keV) isomeric state of 68Ga was performed. The experiment took about 80 hours with an event rate of about 80000 counts per second. The measured value was T 1/2 = 60.8(11) ns, which is compatible, but more accurate, with experimental results of other authors. The nuclear structure of this nucleus was calculated with the Large Scale Shell Model by using two different residual interactions FPG and JUN45; the results were compared with the known values. The structure calculated with LSSM described the energy states and the order of excited states relatively well; the FPG interaction was capable to describe better the quadrupolar electrical transition probability B(E2), which is direct related to predicting the state lifetime.

Numerical modelling of inflatable structures made of orthotropic technical textiles : application to the frames of inflatable tents / Modélisation numérique des structures gonflables en textiles techniques orthotropes : application aux armatures des tentes gonflables

Apedo, Komla Lolonyo 10 September 2010 (has links)
The main objective of this thesis was to model inflatable beams made frorn orthotropic woven fabric composites. The static aspects were investigated in this report. Before planning to develop these models, it was necessary to know all the parameters which have a direct effect on the effective mechanical properties these composites. Thus, a micro mechanical model was performed for predicting the effective mechanical properties. The proposed model was based on the analysis of the representative volume element (RVE). The model took into account not only the mechanical properties and volume fraction of each components in the RVE but also their geometry and architecture. Each yarn in the RVE was modelled as a transversely isotropic material (containing fibres and resin) using the concentric cylinders model (CCIVI). A second volumetric averaging which took into account the volume fraction of each constituent (warp yarn, weft yarn and resin), was performed. The model was validated favorably against experimental available data. A parametric study was conducted in order to investigate the effects of various geometrical and mechanical parameters on the elastic properties of these composites. ln the structural analysis, a 3D Timoshenko airbeam with a homogeneous orthotropic woven fabric (OWF) was addressed. The model took into account the geometrical nonlinearities and the inflation pressure follower force effect. The analytical equilibrium equations were performed using the total Lagrangian form of the virtual work principle. As these equations were nonlinear, in a first approach, a linearization was performed at the prestressed reference configuration to obtain the equations devoted to linearized problems. As example, the bending problem was investigated. Four cases of boundary conditions were treated and the deflections and rotations results improved the existing models in the case of isotropic fabric. The wrinkling load in every case was also proposed. In a second approach, the nonlinear equilibrium equations of the 3DTimoshenko airbeam were discretized by the finite element method. Two finite element solutions were then investigated : finite element solutions for linearized problems which were obtained by the means of the linearization around the prestressed reference configuration of the nonlinear equations and nonlinear finite element solutions which were performed by the use of an optimization algorithm based on the Qua.si-Newton method. As an example, the bending problem of a cantilever inflated beam under concentrated load was considered and the deflection results improve the theoretical models. As these beams are made from fabric, the beam models were validated through their comparison with a 3D thin-shell finite element model. The influence of the material effective properties and the inflation pressure on the beam response was also investigated through a parametric study. The finite element solutions for linearized problems were found to be close to the theoretical linearized results. On the other hand, the results for the nonlinear finite element model were shown to be close to the results for the linearized finite element model in the case of high mechanical properties and the non linear finite element model was used to improve the linearized model when the mechanical properties of the fabric are low
