O embasamento do Terreno Jauru é constituído por rochas metavulcano-sedimentares e intrusivas ácidas, básicas e ultrabásicas. As rochas metavulcano-sedimentares vem sendo comumente designadas de Grupo Alto Jauru. Mapeamento geológico, petrografia, análise estrutural e geocronologia realizados na região da Fazenda Retiro, a norte da cidade de Araputanga, SW do estado de Mato Grosso, revelam que este Grupo é constituído por biotita-muscovita-quartzo xistos; clorita-biotita-muscovita xistos; granada-cordierita-biotita xisto e estaurolita-andalusita-biotita xisto; associados à granada-sillimanita-biotita gnaisse, biotita gnaisse, anfibolitos e muscovita granito. A petrografia e as relações estruturais indicam que estas rochas foram afetadas por dois eventos deformacionais, Dn e Dn+1, com as foliações associadas Sn (xistosidade e bandamento gnáissico) e Sn+1 (clivagem de crenulação); e três eventos metamórficos: o primeiro evento metamórfico (M1), contemporâneo à Sn de fácies xisto verde inferior; o segundo (M2) associado a fase Sn+1 de fácies xisto verde a anfibolito; e o terceiro evento térmico (M3) de fácies hornblenda-hornfels. A idade de cristalização do biotita gnaisse obtida pelo método U/Pb (SHRIMP) em zircão é de de 1819 ± 6,7 Ma. A interpretação desses dados permite considerar que as rochas do Grupo Alto Jauru são parte de um prisma acrescionário formado no Estateriano. / The Rondoniana-San Ignácio Province, southwestern portion of the Amazonian Craton, is marked by a complex amalgam of terrains from different ages and sources. The basement of one Jauru Terrain consists of metavolcano-sedimentary rocks and intrusive acidic, basic and ultrabasic. The metavolcano-sedimentary rocks has been commonly called Alto Jauru Group. Geologic mapping, petrography, geochronology and structural analysis performed on Retiro Farm region, north of the Araputanga city, SW of Mato Grosso state, reveal that this Group consists of biotite-muscovite-quartz schists, chlorite-biotite-muscovite schists, garnet-cordierite-biotite schist and staurolite-andalusite-biotite schist, garnet-sillimanite associated with biotite-gneiss, biotite gneiss, amphibolite and muscovite granite. The petrography and structural relationships indicate that these rocks were affected by two deformational events Dn and Dn+1, Sn associated with the foliation (schistosity and gneissic banding) and Sn+1 (crenulation cleavage), and three metamorphic events: first metamorphic event (M1), the contemporary Sn lower greenschist facies, the second (M2) associated with Sn+1 phase greenschist to amphibolite facies, and the third thermal event (M3) hornblende hornfels facies. The crystallization age of the biotite gneiss obtained by the method U/Pb (SHRIMP) zircon is 1819 ± 6.7 Ma. The interpretation of these data suggest that the rocks of the Alto Jauru Group are part of a accretionary prism formed in Statherian.

As ondas geradas por tempestades causam as alterações mais significativas na costa arenosa. Este trabalho avaliou a influência da variabilidade interanual do clima de ondas nos processos costeiros do litoral Sudeste e Sul do Brasil. O clima de ondas foi determinado a partir de resultados entre 1997 e 2010 do modelo numérico NOAA WAVEWATCH III (NWW3) com seis pontos de água profunda. O modelo numérico MIKE 21 SW foi utilizado para verificar o efeito destas ondas na Enseada de Massaguaçu (SP) e no trecho Sul de Imbituba (SC). Foram simuladas as direções de ondas mais frequentes e foi calculado o transporte longitudinal de sedimentos gerado por elas. As ondas do quadrante Sul foram mais energéticas e não foi identificado um padrão na variação interanual do clima de ondas. Em São Paulo, as direções de onda mais frequentes (Sul e Sul-Sudoeste) não geraram quantidade efetiva de transporte de sedimentos, e foram as ondas de Leste-Sudeste a Sudeste-Sul que geraram a maior quantidade de transporte longitudinal de sedimentos. Em Santa Catarina foram as ondas de Leste a Sul que geraram maior transporte longitudinal de sedimentos. / The coastal dynamics is mainly controlled by waves, being the energetic storm waves the most influential. This study aims to assess the wave climate influence on coastal processes in the South and Southeastern coast of Brazil. The wave climate was defined through NOAA WAVEWATCH III (NWW3) numerical model results for six offshore points, from 1997 to 2010. In order to propagate the waves onshore the Spectral Wave FM from MIKE 21 numerical model has been applied on Massaguaçu bay (SP) and Imbituba (SC). Most frequent storm waves have been simulated for each year and sector and sediment longshore transport along each sector was calculated. Waves from the South are the most energetic. There is no clear interanual pattern in the time-series. For SP, the most frequent directions (South and South-Southwest) do not generate considerable longshore sediment transport, with East-Southeast to Southeast-South waves generating most sediment transport, which was northwards for all beaches. In SC the sediment transport was northwards in Vila and Vila Nova beaches and southwards on Itapirubá beach, with waves from Eastern and Southern quadrants generating more longshore sediment transport.

This master´s thesis deals with the analysis of CIP technology and the creation of laboratory tasks from components based on this technology. The aim of the thesis is to create a literary research on CIP technology and its individual extensions focusing on CIP Safety. Further, a functional laboratory panel is assembled from the available components in the FEKT VUT Brno laboratory supporting this technology CIP Safety, specifying the assignment of the laboratory task. Functionality of the panel has been verified by the SW solution of the laboratory task with visualization and control of the virtual production line. The result of the work is literary research on CIP technology, functional laboratory panel, specification of assignment of laboratory task and SW solution of task with visualization and control of virtual production line.

A Personnel-Driven Mini Assessment Approach for Supporting Continuous System and Software Process Improvement

Assessments are fundamental to the process improvement program of any organization in the software industry. Assessments provide a view of the state, capability, and maturity of processes in an organization relative to a reference model. Formal assessments are the most recognized, and are comprehensive in nature. Although the depth of their evaluation often results in significant process improvement opportunities, formal assessments are too costly for frequent use by many organizations. The interim between assessments typically leaves these organizations without the currency of process state information necessary to effectively drive continuous process improvement. Mini-assessments have emerged as a solution. This paper presents a mini-assessment approach that offers a substantial cost reduction compared to formal assessments and satisfies the process state currency requirement. A specification of the approach is given, followed by discussions on the process improvement possible with its use, comparisons to other assessment methods, and an example implementation.

<p>This thesis describes the design of fast JPEG processing accelerators for a DSP processor. </p><p>Certain computation tasks are moved from the DSP processor to hardware accelerators. The accelerators are slave co processing machines and are controlled via a new instruction set. The clock cycle and power consumption is reduced by utilizing the custom built hardware. The hardware can perform the tasks in fewer clock cycles and several tasks can run in parallel. This will reduce the total number of clock cycles needed. </p><p>First a decoder and an encoder were implemented in DSP assembler. The cycle consumption of the parts was measured and from this the hardware/software partitioning was done. Behavioral models of the accelerators were then written in C++ and the assembly code was modified to work with the new hardware. Finally, the accelerators were implemented using Verilog. </p><p>Extension of the accelerator instructions was given following a custom design flow.</p>

Design of Single Scalar DSP based H.264/AVC Decoder

<p>H.264/AVC is a new video compression standard designed for future broadband network. Compared with former video coding standards such as MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 part 2, it saves up to 40% in bit rate and provides important characteristics such as error resilience, stream switching etc. However, the improvement in performance also introduces increase in computational complexity, which requires more powerful hardware. At the same time, there are several image and video coding standards currently used such as JPEG and MPEG-4. Although ASIC design meets the performance requirement, it lacks flexibility for heterogeneous standards. Hence reconfigurable DSP processor is more suitable for media processing since it provides both real-time performance and flexibility. </p><p>Currently there are several single scalar DSP processors in the market. Compare to media processor, which is generally SIMD or VLIW, single scalar DSP is cheaper and has smaller area while its performance for video processing is limited. In this paper, a method to promote the performance of single scalar DSP by attaching hardware accelerators is proposed. And the bottleneck for performance promotion is investigated and the upper limit of acceleration of a certain single scalar DSP for H.264/AVC decoding is presented. </p><p>Behavioral model of H.264/AVC decoder is realized in pure software during the first step. Although real-time performance cannot be achieved with pure software implementation, computational complexity of different parts is investigated and the critical path in decoding was exposed by analyzing the first design of this software solution. Then both functional acceleration and addressing acceleration were investigated and designed to achieve the performance for real-time decoding using available clock frequency within 200MHz.</p>

Hardware / Software co-design for JPEG2000

<p>For demanding applications, for example image or video processing, there may be computations that aren’t very suitable for digital signal processors. While a DSP processor is appropriate for some tasks, the instruction set could be extended in order to achieve higher performance for the tasks that such a processor normally isn’t actually design for. The platform used in this project is flexible in the sense that new hardware can be designed to speed up certain computations.</p><p>This thesis analyzes the computational complex parts of JPEG2000. In order to achieve sufficient performance for JPEG2000, there may be a need for hardware acceleration.</p><p>First, a JPEG2000 decoder was implemented for a DSP processor in assembler. When the firmware had been written, the cycle consumption of the parts was measured and estimated. From this analysis, the bottlenecks of the system were identified. Furthermore, new processor instructions are proposed that could be implemented for this system. Finally the performance improvements are estimated.</p>
