Schiller's book, related to an aesthetic reflection of art and beauty. Understanding and knowing, feelings and principles, substance and shape, feeling and thinking are elements that are part of man in equality and measure, according to Schiller, and those issues are the focus of this research. Art an beauty are strictly related to the physical and moral man. Sensible and formal impulses are balanced in a unit of beauty, leisure and art impulse. Beauty, in itself, is enough to take it out of its natural and passive state, and beautiful leads to the fruition and also to a game. Schiller highlights that, inside it, the game can be compatible to the basis of the philosophical reflection. In the aesthetic impulse, vital impulses are implicated to each other and are based, at once, on the animus and on free shape of external forces. Even though there is will, wishing and making implicated themselves in a aesthetic reciprocity, in the achievement of the man's autonomy and freedom to make himself a human being and also to make his fights.

Wellige, Rainer. January 1998 (has links)
This Master's thesis analyses the connection between the Illuminati ideology and the sociopolitical ideals contained in pre-classical works---contemporary to the existence of the order---of Johann Wolfgang Goethe and Friedrich Schiller. The first chapter examines the creation, the development and the eventual collapse of the Illuminati Secret Society (Geheimbund der Illuminaten) founded in 1776 by Adam Weishaupt in the context of the Enlightenment. The second chapter explores the ideological similarities between the young Goethe and this secret society through the analysis of his works Gotz von Berlichingen (1771--1773), Egmont (1775--1784) and Der Gross Cophta (1791). The third chapter expounds Schiller's ideological opinion of the Illuminati through Don Carlos (1787), and discusses their republican visions of freedom and human rights. The conclusion integrates the findings made in each chapter and demonstrates, through both authors' discussed works, the similar ideals of both authors and Illuminism.
