Atletické dovednosti žáků / Athletic Skils of Youth athletes

Štvánová, Anna January 2019 (has links)
Title: Junger junior's Athletic skills Objectives: To describe the athletic skills of secondary sports school pupils (non athletes) and to compare them with the athletic skills of children who are members of an athletic club. There will be evaluation tables created to measure the given skills. Another aim is to measure and compare general performance test results of both groups. Comparasion will be done against the general population and each other Methods: Observational cross-sectional study, observation, descriptive analysis, video recording, scaling, comparison Results: Secondary school pupils did not achieve similar results in general performance tests. The smallest differences in motor tests were recorded in the long jump, in other tests were bigger differences. In hurdlets, pupils differ from athletes, as I expected. The assumption that the best children in general performance tests would be the best in motor tests did not confirm completely. For pupils, this assumption was clearer, with athletes the best performers in motor tests didn't have the best results. Key words: Junger junior's, motor skills, performance, motor tests, older school age

Hodnocení tělesné zdatnosti a herních dovedností u hráčů ve fotbale / Assessment physical fitness and game skills in soccer players

Čech, Marek January 2019 (has links)
Title: Assessment physical fitness and game skills in soccer players Objectives: To find out the relationships and differences between actual levels of body composition, physical fitness and specific football skills of football players at ABC Braník aged 7 and 8 years. Methods: The main research method chosen was observation - measurement and testing. The research group included a total of 31 football players - 15 players from the ABC Braník U8 team (average age 8.3 ± 0.3 years and 16 players from ABC Braník U7 team (mean age 6.9 ± 0.4 years). tested with the Unifittest 6-60 standardized test battery, specific football skills have been tested according to the ProFutbalAnalytics.com manual. Results: In physical fitness, older players (U8) achieved above average scores and younger players (U7) achieved average scores. A total of 9 out of 15 of the U8 team, ie 60 % of individuals, recorded at least above average results in fitness tests. In the U7 team, only 7 out of 16, ie 44 % of individuals, are above average in their performance according to standards. The degree of association between game skills and physical fitness was low. Upon closer examination, we found a moderate correlation between the fitness prowess indicator and the juggling and ball management indicators (r = 0.52 - 0.58). Significant...

Tělesné složení u vybraných skupin pražských dětí mladšího školního věku / Body composition in selected groups of children of younger school age in Prague

Hadžega, Tomáš January 2019 (has links)
Subject The current lifestyle of most children and adults is characterized by sedentary lifestyle. Research shows that physical activity among children is decreasing while aging, (Bunc, 2004) which causes gaining the body fat, loosing physical fitness and overall resulting in overweight and obesity (eg Brettschneider, Naul, 2007; Malina, Bouchard, 1991; Roche et al., 1996). This lack of physical activity leads to a decrease in physical fitness as global phenomena (Malina 2004; Reed et al., 2006; Tomkinson, 2007), urges the increase in overweight and obesity, or causes certain health problems. One way to examine the level of lifestyle and the quality of life of children and adults is the body composition. This knowledge can contribute to determine the health of the individual and its physical ability. Objective To describe changes in somatic indicators and selected body composition parameters that are related to age and gender among younger school age children. To find out the correlation among somatic indicators, age and parameters of the body composition of children of both genders and to discover dominant factors affecting the body composition in both genders. Methods A cross-sectional statistical survey was carried out at three primary schools in Prague, where during the first testing, 220...

Parent-Completed Developmental Screening: Validity, Reliability and Utility of the 6-Year Ages and Stages Questionnaire

Singh, Ajay 18 August 2015 (has links)
The psychometric properties of a parent-completed developmental questionnaire for children at 6 years of age were investigated. Currently, few developmental screening instruments for 6-year-old children have been validated, and most available instruments are designed to be completed by teachers or professionals, who may not witness an optimal sample of child behavior. Thus a screening tool with robust psychometric properties is needed that can be completed by parents or caregivers who see the child across settings and time. A total of 169 children participated in this research. Data collection included online and paper completion during well child visits, in clinics, at preschool programs, and in parents' homes. A random subsample was asked to participate in reliability and convergent validity studies. Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to measure internal consistency reliability. Results indicated a Cronbach alpha of agreement with the Child Development Inventory was used. A Confirmatory Factor Analysis with categorical data confirmed the 6-Year Ages and Stages Questionnaire domains, e.g., communication, personal social, fine motor, gross motor, and problem solving. Limitations of the current study and directions for future research are discussed. / 10000-01-01

Projekce narušené komunikační schopnosti do dětské kresby / Projection of disrupted communication ability in children's drawing

Zderadičková, Barbora January 2018 (has links)
The master thesis is focused on a special pedagogical topic and observes how disrupted communication impacts on children's drawing. The thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and practical part. The first one is about the theoretical findings, which proceed from the professional literature. There are the parts here regarding communication, speech and language and the disrupted communication ability - most concentrated on a question of developmental dysphasia. The close attention has been paid to children in their younger school age, their communication abilities, their drawing ability and graphomotor activity. The practical part of this master thesis has been formed by a qualitative survey realized with children at elementary schools and their home environment. Different methods and techniques - interviews, observation, case interpretation and analysis of activity results. The main objective of this thesis is to to find out and to describe - how the disrupted communication ability of children - specifically developmental dysphasia is projected into children drawing. The corresponding demonstration has been based on a comparison between drawings of pupils with communication problems and drawings of children without any communication problems. KEYWORDS Graphomotorics, communication, drawing,...

The study aimed to understand social representations about healthy eating in childhood of families with school-age children in São Leopoldo/RS. It was a 128 qualitative multiple study-case, using semi-structured interviews with parents and children's drawings. Participated in this study eight families from low socioeconomic class, among whom five had food safety and three had unsafe food indicators. Qualitative content analysis revealed that the history of countryside eating habits was remembered by parents during their childhood as a difficult time, but healthier than current habits, when fast-foods, industrialized foods and sweets are more accessible. Although the families’ knowledge, rooted in its own history and updated by scientific discourse, have pointed toward a healthy eating, both proximal and distal strengths push their eating habits on other direction. The easy access to unhealthy foods and, on the other hand, financial constraints and the scarcity of healthy food options close to home, were linked with the busy life of families and the pleasure associated with "junk food" consumption as a way out of routine and to get satisfaction, generating several impasses in adopting healthier eating. These findings indicate the need for a more holistic and comprehensive approach, not just based on strategies focused in individual education and counseling, but targeting different contexts of sociability of the child in order to incorporate healthier eating habits as something pleasant and accessible in family routine.

Assertion and accommodation : a study of the assertive language in the conversations of school-age (5-13 years) girls

Topham, Emma January 2018 (has links)
This study aimed to investigate the use of accommodation of assertive utterances (AUs) in the conversations of 49 girls aged 5;0-13;1. Based on the findings of earlier research that the use of such language is more closely related to age than to gender, it was predicted speakers would accommodate their use of and response to assertive utterances as a result of their partner's age. Naturalistic language from these speakers was collected over a year, and evidence of accommodation was observed in all speakers. Fewer AUs were used with younger speakers compared to older ones, and those used with younger girls were more likely to be produced with the sole purpose of controlling the hearer's behaviour. In addition, AUs were more likely to be complied with, or accepted, when they were produced by older girls. Given what is known about the types of language used by powerful/powerless individuals, it appears that these speakers consider age to be an indicator of status. A particularly interesting finding was that it was the age of a speaker in relation to other members of the conversation that influenced their use of and response to AUs, rather than the age of the speaker alone.

The Effects of a Social Communication Intervention on the Correct Production of Emotion Words for Children with Language Impairment

Hetherton, Julia Vincent 01 April 2018 (has links)
Many school-age children with language impairment (LI) have difficulties with aspects of social and emotional learning. This study was structured to evaluate one aspect of the effectiveness of a social communication intervention, the appropriate production of emotion words. Four school-aged children with LI participated in 20 sessions of story-based intervention targeting understanding and usage of emotion-based words. Emotions targeted included the emotion word categories of happiness, sadness, anger, fear, surprise, and disgust. Because the knowledge of the emotion word categories varied from child to child, each child had different target words. The percentage of correct production of targeted emotion word categories was tracked, recorded and presented in figure format. The percentage of correct productions provided an estimation of the participants' usage and understanding of emotion-based words from session to session. Percentage of nonoverlapping data (PND) for each participant (subdivided by emotion) was calculated where appropriate as one measure of the effectiveness of the intervention. Although somewhat variable, the data showed that the children did make progress in their use of some of the emotion word categories that they did not understand at baseline. The results of the study present some promising preliminary findings.

The Ability of Five Children with Language Impairment to Describe Mental State in Story Narratives in Spontaneous and Prompted Conditions: Does It Help to Ask?

Asai, Naomi 01 July 2017 (has links)
Numerous studies have shown that children identified with Language Impairment (LI) have marked difficulty with producing story narratives compared to their typically developing peers. One particular area of weakness seen in the narratives of children with LI is their ability to incorporate internal states, specifically internal response, internal plan, and emotion words. The current study examines five children with LI and their descriptions of mental and emotional states of characters in story narratives under spontaneous and prompted conditions. Participants produced story retells based on a series of wordless picture books taken from the Edmonton Narrative Norms Instrument. Story retells were elicited twice for each story, once with and once without verbal prompts. As expected, children produced more internal state story elements in response to prompts. As children produced more of these elements, however, their accuracy decreased, and the states they reported did not always reflect the story content. The children with LI showed limited understanding and ability to interpret the reactions, motivations, and emotions that characters experienced. However, verbal prompts did reveal children's current abilities and understanding of internal states.

Story Retell Narratives in Five School-Aged Children with Language Impairment

Deere, Megan Bradshaw 01 July 2016 (has links)
Many children identified with Language Impairment (LI) demonstrate difficulty comprehending and producing narratives. Their narratives are often structurally less complex and of overall poorer quality than those produced by their typically developing peers. These difficulties may negatively impact the academic and social success of children with LI. This thesis evaluates the performance of five school-aged children with LI on a story retell probe embedded within an intervention designed to address their social and emotional language abilities. During the 10-week intervention, participants completed a series of story retell probes using wordless picture books. The story stimuli were taken from the Edmonton Narrative Norms Instrument, which included six stories (divided into two story sets), elicited twice (12 total story retells). The production of story grammar (SG) categories was analyzed for each story retell. The results for each participant and SG category varied greatly, but all participants had difficulty producing the more complex SG elements. Although each participant demonstrated some improvement from the first retell to the second on at least one story, overall performance remained fairly stable over the 10-week period. Future research is needed to determine effective ways to support more complex story narratives in children with LI.
