O Governo Federal, com o PNLD (Programa Nacional do Livro Didático) propõe avaliar e distribuir livros didáticos para todas as escolas públicas de Ensino Fundamental brasileiras. Os critérios para esta avaliação, bem como sua logística, são refinados a cada edição do Programa. No entanto, o impacto e as reações causadas pelo PNLD a quem ele realmente se destina, são pouco estudados. O PNLD chega até as escolas sob a forma do Guia de Livros Didáticos, material que pretende ser fundamental à decisão dos títulos a serem requisitados ao MEC. O estudo do processo de escolha dos livros didáticos por professores de 1a a 4a séries é o objetivo deste trabalho. Buscamos conhecer os critérios utilizados pelos docentes na opção pela obra a ser adotada, as interferências internas e externas ao andamento do processo, as opiniões e sugestões ao PNLD. O trabalho visa contribuir com o PNLD na medida em que expõe o processo sob o olhar do professor. Procura subsidiar novas pesquisas, e produções editoriais. E visa, sobretudo, ao expressar as dificuldades, necessidades e desejos dos professores, colaborar com as mudanças necessárias para a melhoria da qualidade do ensino brasileiro.O trabalho desta pesquisa realizou-se de maneira paralela a uma pesquisa oficial do Ministério da Educação, cujo autor dessa dissertação auxiliou na coordenação, e procurou - com visitas a escolas e entrevistas com professores - estudar o processo de escolha dos livros in loco. Obtivemos como resultados, expressivos relatos de professores sobre este processo, mostrando a diversidade de critérios e condições para as escolhas. Constatou-se o pouco uso do Guia, o desconhecimento de importantes etapas do Programa. Conhecemos as deficiências estruturais do PNLD, as pressões exercidas pelas editoras e pelo poder público. The work aims to contribute to the PNLD exposing the process under the gaze of the teacher. Aims to contribute to new researchs and editorial productions . And aims mainly express the difficulties , needs and wishes of teachers , collaborate with the necessary changes to improve the quality of brazilian schools. This research work was carried out in parallel to an official survey by the Ministry of Education , whose author of this master thesis helped coordinate , and searched - with school visit´s and interviews with teachers - study the process of choosing books spot. The results obtained shows the diversity of criteria and conditions for the choices . It found little use of the Guide , the lack of important steps in the Program . We know the structural deficiencies of PNLD pressures exerted by publishers and public authorities . We intend, with suggestions and analysis of collected data, provide support for deepening related to National Textbook Program studies, contributing to its efficiency .

The Health Sector at the state of Kuwait is facing many challenges. One of which is public expectations in health are high, and thus, the Ministry of Health (MOH) in Kuwait has amplified the health expenditure by 86% since 2007. And since the medicine budget represents half of the total MOH budget, it is proposed that the development in health policy might be a suitable tool to control the inflation within the health budget. This thesis examines the opportunities and challenges of introducing an EML in Kuwait and the factors influencing its effectiveness. A mixed-methodology approach has been used to enhance and validate the data, in the form of interviews, comparative studies and questionnaires. One major limitation to the research was the lack of previous data relating to this work, and the information should be gathered in person in the form of hard copies, and later, the data was analysed using qualitative and quantitative approaches. It has been attained that, the EML might be a valuable tool if adopted and implemented appropriately, EML adjustment to country health situation is crucial for successful utilisation and fulfilling the concept objectives. Standard Treatment Guidelines are fundamental part of EM selection process, in Kuwait there were lack in the uniformity of the local STG, but fortunately, there is an eagerness to innovate, and the medicine situation might benefit from a type of organisation, overall, if the EML implemented efficiently in Kuwait, it might help in improving the general health and control the inflation in MOH budget.

The selection and evaluation of audio-visual media for supporting learners with behavioural problems (LBP)Calder, Bruce Donovan 11 1900 (has links)
The aim of this research was to make recommendations how parents and educators can select and use audio-visual media for supporting learners with behavioural problems (LBP). A literature study was conducted on behavioural problems and on the use of audio-visual media to address these. Thereafter an empirical investigation was done by means of a case study design. A purposive sample was chosen from Grades 10 and 12 learners in Pietermaritzburg. Websites were also selected for addressing a variety of topics. The most important findings were that audio-visual media can be selected by means of five criteria related to content accuracy and appropriateness, diversity and quality. The findings indicate that visual media can stimulate cognitive skills (including problem solving and critical thinking) and reflection about the acceptance of responsibility, positive attitudes and respect for authority, among others. Previous issue date: 2013-11-11 / Technological innovation promotes the generation of economic value by creating a new
product, process or organizational management model, being classified as dynamic and
multidimensional. Government intervention has the role of acting through government grant
programs to foster the integration of innovative processes in small companies, due to the high
costs and risks of development, strengthening the country`s economy in this phase. The
distribution of this grant is determined by criteria, based especially in subjective judgments,
which are based on the beliefs and perceptions about the technological opportunities and
market actors involved in the process, being very difficult to measure the probability of
success of the project under evaluation. This study aims to identify the most relevant selection
criteria that must be inserted in grants programs at Rio Grande do Norte executed by
Funda??o de Pesquisa do Rio Grande do Norte (FAPERN). Initially, there was a
systematization of 18 countries, covering 41 programs in foreign countries and 29 in Brazil.
Based on the data collected, we conducted one survey containing four programs of FAPERN
(INOVA I, INOVA II , INOVA III and INOVA IV), covering 44 companies and analyzing
their responses according to the Likert scale , obtaining the degree of importance given by the
respondent to each of the criteria in the questionnaire . As a result, drew up a proposal for new
criteria to be used in the next FAPERN?s grants, containing 13 new criteria. It is expected,
therefore, to contribute to a better spending of public funds invested in companies subsidized
in Brazil / A Inova??o tecnol?gica promove a gera??o de valor econ?mico por meio da inser??o no

Health Professions Advisors: Perceptions of the Health Professions Advising Community Regarding Factors Important to the Selection of Students for Medical School.January 2012 (has links)
abstract: This study determined if differences exist among the health professions advising community between factors (academic and non-academic) used as selection criteria in medical school admissions, as well as the impact of the holistic review in admissions on new admissions initiatives with respect to personal and professional backgrounds of advisors. The study examined the differences based on the gender, race and ethnicity, age, years of advising experience, institution size and type, classification and region of the population. Statistical analyses were conducted using comparison of means tests: one-sample t-tests and one-way ANOVA to determine the significance of differences for each of the variables. Significant differences were found to exist among the health professions advising community based on gender, race and ethnicity, institution type, classification of appointment, institution size and type. The findings of the study suggested that the personal and professional background of a health professions advisor did impact the perception of importance among the academic and non-academic factors used in the selection of medical students. The medical school admissions community should appreciate the unique viewpoints of the broader health professions advising community when building relationships and finding opportunities to collaborate. / Dissertation/Thesis / Ed.D. Potencial de contribuição de espécies nativas de hábitos distintos para o controle de erosão e restauração de margens de corpos hídricos / Potential contribution of native species of different habits for erosion controlling and restoration of water body marginsAlice Takako Hirose 03 October 2013 (has links)
Espécies nativas de hábitos herbáceo, subarbustivo, arbustivo e liana de rápido crescimento podem exercer papel importante em práticas visando o controle de erosão para a restauração de margens de corpos hídricos, principalmente onde a regeneração natural é mais difícil, em áreas muito perturbadas, onde a declividade do terreno é mais acentuada e os processos erosivos em diques marginais são mais intensos. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo avaliar o potencial de aplicação de espécies nativas de diferentes hábitos em testes visando o controle de erosão para restauração de margens de corpos hídricos. No cap.2 foram propostos alguns critérios de seleção de espécies, com sugestão de estrutura metodológica identificando algumas \"características/atributos\" e \"funções\", bem como avaliação preliminar de 43 táxons no contexto da região de estudo. Complementarmente, foram montados alguns experimentos expeditos: cap.3: Avaliação do potencial de germinação e produção de mudas em viveiro a partir de sementes coletadas de 07 espécies nativas subarbustivas e arbustivas (citado no cap.2: \"potencial de propagação\"); e cap.4: Avaliação do desenvolvimento de 08 espécies herbáceas, arbustivas e liana, após submeter o sistema radicular destas a condições distintas de saturação hídrica do substrato (citado no cap.2: \"ambiente de ocorrência das espécies\"). Dentre os 43 táxons: 35 apresentaram características morfológicas do sistema aéreo de interesse para aplicação em experimentos visando o controle de processos erosivos, sendo: 22 de origem pluvial para proteção superficial e subsuperficial de diques marginais, outros 11 de origem fluvial e também pluvial (por meio de barreiras ou faixas vegetais em combinação com os demais tipos) para a proteção da base e bordas de diques marginais; 31 para experimentos visando a recuperação do solo: 10 leguminosas nodulíferas, 21 para cobertura e retenção de umidade; 31 para input de matéria orgânica; e 20 visando a recuperação de diversidade fornecendo recursos para a fauna (cap.2). Dentre 07 espécies avaliadas, a maioria demonstrou potencial para germinação e formação de mudas em de viveiro: 06 apresentaram tolerância ao armazenamento (24-28 meses); 02 conseguiram germinar naturalmente em viveiro em até 14 dias, com elevados percentuais de germinação e preferência por períodos mais quentes do ano para germinar, enquanto outras 02 foram mais lentas (30-60 dias); 03 espécies demonstraram requerer tratamento pré-germinativo para a quebra de dormência tegumentar (cap.3). Para 08 espécies verificaram-se 05 padrões quanto a preferências hídricas. Os resultados quanto ao desenvolvimento de biomassa nos tratamentos corroboraram com grande parte das observações em campo (cap.4). Recomenda-se a realização de estudos que elucidem o papel funcional de espécies nativas de hábitos distintos, identificando e mensurando características e/ou atributos que lhes possibilitam conter fluxos hídricos, desagregação e transporte de sedimentos, sendo os serviços ecossistêmicos de proteção do solo e controle de erosão um primeiro passo para etapas seguintes da restauração. / Native species of herbaceous habits, subshrub, shrub and liana of rapid growth may play an important role in practices aimed at controlling erosion to restore margins of water bodies, especially where natural regeneration is more difficult, as well as in very disturbed areas, where slopes are steeper and where pluvial and fluvial erosion in river banks are more intense. Considering the lack of studies with this focus, this study had the aim of evaluating the potential application of native species of different habits in tests for controlling erosion and restoring water body margins. In chapter 2 some species selection criteria were suggested as well as methodological framework identifying some \"characteristics / attributes\" and \"functions\" besides a preliminary evaluation of 43 taxa in the context of the study region. Additionally, some expeditious experimental work was done: chapter 3: Potential for germination and seedling production in the nursery with seeds collected from 07 native subshrubs and shrubs species (referring to \"propagation potential\" quoted in chapter 2) and chapter 4: Development of 08 species: subshrub, shrub and liana, after conditioning the root system of these plants through different conditions of substrate water saturation(referring to \"environment of species occurrence\" quoted in chapter 2). Among the 43 taxa: 35 showed morphological aerial or shoot system characteristics which were of interest for application in erosion control experiments, 22 of pluvial origin, for surface and subsurface river bank protection (and slopes), 11 others had fluvial and pluvial origin(through barriers or vegetable strips in combination with other types) to protect the base and edges of river banks (and slopes); 31 for soil recovering experiments, distributed as follows: 10 nodulating Fabaceae species, 21 to provide coverage and moisture retention, 31 to organic matter input; 21 for diversity recovering experiments, to supply resources for wildlife (chapter 2). Among the 07 species assessed, most of them demonstrated germination potential as well as potential for seedling formation in the nursery: 06 tolerated storage (24-28 months), 02 were able to germinate naturally in the nursery within 14 days with high germination rates and preference for warmer periods of the year to germinate, while the other 02 were slower (30-60 days); 03 species required pre germination treatments for breaking cutaneous dormancy (chapter 3). For 08 species 05 patterns of hydric preferences were observed. The results for biomass development along the treatments corroborate withgreat part of the field observations (chapter 4). In the future we recommend that studies to elucidate the functional role of native species of different habits be carried out, they should identify and measure features and / or attributes that enable the plants to contain hydric flows, sediment transport and retention. These ecosystem services of soil protection and erosion control are the first step towards next restoration stages.

Autour de la question de la modernisation des bâtiments protégés, la thèse analyse comment les acteurs implémentent de tels ajustements contemporains sans pour autant dénaturer le Patrimoine véhiculé et personnifié par le bâtiment. Considéré comme la représentation matérielle de l’institution des Bâtiments Protégés – i.e. son instanciation – le bâtiment protégé trouve sa légitimité dans son authenticité dont le respect par les acteurs est primordial pour maintenir la protection institutionnelle. Cependant, parce que la majorité des bâtiments protégés actuels n’ont pas été pensés originellement pour perdurer, i.e. être transmis aux futures générations, les travaux d’intervention pour modifier cet artéfact bâtiment mènent à de nombreux débats entre les acteurs qui participent à ces projets de construction au regard de ce qui doit être ou non patrimonialement considéré. Selon l’approche constructiviste de la méthodologie dite de théorie ancrée, et dans l’optique de comprendre comment ces acteurs parviennent à produire un seul et unique artéfact, la thèse met en avant le processus de construction de l’instantiation au sein duquel les constructions matérielle et symbolique sont considérées. Pour se faire, l’étude propose de coupler l’Institutionnalisme Scandinave et le Bricolage Collectif. En effet, pour sélectionner les matériaux de construction pertinents pour modifier un bâtiment protégé existant, les acteurs doivent dans un premier temps concevoir un cadre interprétatif, commun et partagé, basé sur l’authenticité du bâtiment qu’ils pensent être nécessaire de respecter selon les trois piliers institutionnels en présence. Un tel cadre est en fait une étape préliminaire servant à implémenter un dialogue double-niveau permettant la matérialisation de l’ensemble des idées immatérielles: 1) entre les acteurs et le cadre interprétatif pour tester les solutions matérielles suggérées et 2) entre chaque répertoire de chaque acteur, comprenant leur ressources à disposition, grâce à six critères de sélection qui aident les acteurs à décider quel matériau il est utile ou non d’utiliser. / The dissertation studies how actors implement contemporary adjustments in listed buildings without disrupting their embodied Heritage. The listed building’s legitimacy relies on its authenticity whose respect by actors is essential to maintain the institutional protection, as it is the material representation, or instantiation, of the Listed-Buildings Institution. However, intervention works to change such an artifact lead to various debates among actors, as the majority of current listed buildings were not originally constructed to last, i.e. to be transmitted to future generations. One debate during intervention works tackles the issue of what needs to be or not to be considered in terms of Heritage. Through a constructivist grounded-theory methodology, the dissertation allows the understanding of how actors succeed in producing one unique outcome. I propose the instantiation construction process in which both symbolic but also material constructions are emphasised. And to do so, I intertwine Scandinavian Institutionalism and Collective Bricolage. Indeed, actors need first to design, with the help of the three institutional pillars, a shared interpretative frame to select relevant building materials. They could thus modify an existing building in regards to what building’s authenticity deserves to be respected. This frame acts in fact as a preliminary step to implement a simultaneous two-level dialogue enabling the materialisation of the intangible ideas: 1) between actors and the frame to test the material solutions actors suggest and 2) between each actors’ “resources at hand” repertoires by means of six selection criteria that help them to make decision on which material is relevant to use or not.

In the individual chapters the thesis deals with the issue of outsourcing, legislative regulation relating to the bookkeeping on the computer and the criteria and basis for evaluation in the selection of appropriate accounting program. The theoretical knowledge is applied in practical part in the evaluation of specific accounting programs, POHODA and DUEL. The main aim of the thesis is to point to a possible procedure for the selection of appropriate accounting program for specific conditions.
