January 2018 (has links)
This research of masters problematizes, by means of seventeen procedural sources, archived in the collection of Documentation and Support to the Research Center (CEDAP), located in UNESP / Assis-SP, the crime of seduction committed against minors, singularly female, in the region of Assisi. To this end investigative, acclimated on the scope of the laws, it was necessary to delimit a temporal cut between the years 1940, with the advent of the Criminal Code, and 1990, with the promulgation of the Statute of the Child and the Adolescent (ECA). In this sense, the narratives presented demonstrate how power relations, between those directly and indirectly involved in crimes of seduction of children, make historical the truths, knowledge, subjectivities and social manifestations of a certain time and regional space, by the practices. Thus, these source-objects, in addition to referencing the region of Assisi with a legal approach on the crime of seduction of minors, helped to understand the customs, traditions and forms of sociability, present in the time alluded to. From the outline of the documentation, it was possible to map out who these defendants were (familiar or not), how justice sent the cases within the context of the laws, and how auxiliary institutions to protect the child interacted with the judicial sphere, problems. Still, in the analysis of the theorization of power, through Michel Foucault's view, it was explicit that the emergence of legal power is intimately articulated to the micro social relations that are perceived at all times by the procedural narratives analyzed / Mestre

The effects of childhood sexual abuse on adult females

Ramasar, Anandra Devi 01 1900 (has links)
Text in English / This study examined the effects of childhood sexual abuse on the emotional functioning of adult female survivors and the impact on their relationships with their spouse I partner and child I children. Literature reveals that sexual abuse has negative long-term effects on adult survivors, including psychological impairments. To study this phenomenon, a psycho-educational perspective was utilised. A clinical, judgmental sample of sixteen adult female survivors who attributed their current difficulties and problems to their childhood sexual experience was selected and an in-depth qualitative study was undertaken. The Emotions Profile Index Personality Test, a Questionnaire and an Interview were used to determine the present emotional functioning of the survivors and the impact on their relationships. The conclusions reached were that childhood sexual abuse had a detrimental effect on the emotional functioning of survivors and this impacted negatively on their relationships with their spouse I partner and child I children. / Psychology of Education / M. Violência intrafamiliar : a compreensão de psicólogos que atendem em instituições crianças do sexo masculino, vítimas do abuso sexual

Moacyr Ferreira Pires Filho 06 August 2007 (has links)
This study is based on reports given by psychologists working at several institutions and aims at understanding the impact of interfamily sexual abuse in victimized male children. The research is qualitative. Seven female psychologists were interviewed. In order to collect data, an interview guideline was followed individually with each participant. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed according to the Contents Analysis technique (MINAYO, 2004). It was observed that the suffering brought by the victimized children and their families, when faced with the main procedures at the institutions, which attend them, tend to put those children in a new situation of stress because they bring back the violence process suffered. It became evident the importance of the bond between the child and the psychologist so that he or she can have a more suitable approach to the problem. Family investment is also important since the psychological consequences become more or less difficult to be overcome depending on how the family reacts to the situation of abuse. Children who suffered sexual abuse usually present symptoms of post traumatic stress disorder and dissociative disorder. The psychological consequences seen from the interviews are: nightmares, night terror, depression, lowered self-esteem, autonomy impairment, fear of homosexuality, confusion regarding sexual orientation. In interpersonal relationships they show apathy, passivity, inconstant behavior, aggressive expression and sexual exacerbation, difficulty to create affective bonds and difficulties to express feelings. At school there is evidence of participation blunting with a social group, cognitive obstruction, which has influence on the learning process. We hope the present work would help understanding the subject studied and stimulate further research and interventions so that this kind of violence is confronted.

Márcia Candelaria da Rocha 00 December 2010 (has links)
This dissertation had as aims to analyze and to identify possible motivations of mothers who do not believe their daughters had been abused by their partners, whether they are fathers or step-fathers, investigating these mothers subjective standing face to the denouncement. In this perspective, aspects regarding the mothers previous history and possible connections with the abuse suffered by their daughters were considered. The research was divided in three papers, one theoretical and two empirical. The first one represents a literature review on/about sexual abuse, highlighting psychoanalytical concepts used by Freud and Ferenczi, such as trauma, disavowal and identification with the aggressor. The second paper aimed to investigate possible motivations and the subjective standing of mothers who did not believe their daughters had been abused. The third paper considered elements from these mothers previous history that could be associated to their daughters sexual abuse and their possible motivations for denying that it happened. The methodology was based in a qualitative approach, considering the saturation principle. Seven mothers who did not believe in the denouncement of sexual abuse committed by their partners against their daughters were interviewed. Data analysis included Minayos Content Analysis. Results indicate that these mothers disavow the sexual abuse accusation but, far from being accomplices, they may be using a defense mechanism in the attempt to deny such a threatening reality, which is even associated with elements from their own lives. The transgenerational transmission emerged as an important fact, by showing the repetition of the sexual abuse history, present in the lives of the studied mothers

The underreporting of sexual violence against women in the Camdeboo

Luyt, Derek January 2008 (has links)
This thesis examines the underreporting of sexual violence against women in the Camdeboo. It is based on a survey of 971 women living in the Camdeboo aged fifteen and older. The thesis considers, with reference to relevant secondary literature, methodological issues pertinent to conducting survey research into violence against women. While many survey researchers into violence against women argue that behaviourally specific questions lead to higher rates of disclosure, the survey on which this thesis is based employed complex and open-ended questions to allow respondents to record their own definitions of physical and sexual abuse. 31,2 percent of the women surveyed disclosed having experienced sexual abuse, but 76,7 percent did not report this abuse to the police. The thesis explores the patterns of sexual abuse of women in the Camdeboo and the factors influencing the underreporting of such abuse. While it was possible to establish correlations between certain socio-demographic variables and the underreporting of sexual abuse, such correlations should be treated with caution. The survey found that women were far more likely to report (and disclose) sexual assaults by strangers than by people known to them, particularly intimate partners. Sexual abuse in intimate relations was found to be strongly associated with physical abuse, and women who had experienced sexual and physical abuse within intimate relationships were more likely to report their physical abuse to the police than their sexual abuse. However, the majority of women, particularly poor and economically dependent women, believed that reporting their intimate partner abuse to the police would not end it, and might even place them at greater risk. The evidence suggests that these perceptions are accurate. Under current circumstances, reporting sexual abuse to the police may not be the best help-seeking strategy available to many sexually abused women, and alternative sources of help may be more appropriate. Consideration should be given to directing more resources into such alternatives.
