Orientador: Cassio Menezes Raposo do Amaral / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Ciências Médicas / Made available in DSpace on 2018-07-22T06:33:15Z (GMT). We did a experimental study with miniprosthesis of silicone, comparing two specific covers, elastomer and polyurethane; observed the histologic responses each one, with comparative analyses. We used 144 miniprosthesis with two mililiters of silicone gel, 77 with polyurethane cover and 77 with elastomers coveF in 36 rats. Each animal received four prosthesis, two of poliurethane cover and two of elastomer cover . The animaIs were observed for 2, 5, 8, 11 months. During that time they stayed in the bioterio and after were 'sacrified and the material analysed by optic microscopy. We conclued that miniprosthesis with< polyurethane cover, had the active tissular and celular responses, with giant cells, cronic inflamatory process and anarquic disposition of colagen fibers. In the capsula we observed the specif material, like the poliuerathne crystal. The elastomers cover results in the stable celular and tissular responses, and the linear disposition of colagen fibers / Mestrado / Mestre em Cirurgia

January 2003 (has links)
Orientador: Marcelo Coelho Goiato / Abstract: The purpose of this study was to analyse the influence of time exposure to the environmental factors, chemical disinfection with 2% chlorhexidine-based solution and two distincts pigments about dimensional changing and maintenance of details of two silicones for use in maxillofacial prosthesis. Thirty specimens were fabricated for each silicone using a matrix, conformed closely to the specifications for nonaqueous, elastomeric dental impression materials established by the Revised American Dental Association n° 19 and the ISO 4823:1984. Specimens were separated in three groups: control (colourless), pigmented with commercial cosmetic (makeup powders) and pigmented with iron oxid. Specimens were analysed in a comparator microscopic (Carl Zeiss) and stereoscopic loupe. The readings were realized after polymerization of the specimens, and after 30 and 60 days, with and 157 without disinfection. The data were submited to the statistic analysis, by the Tukey's Test. The results indicated that all groups presented contraction; the chemical disinfection only changed the dimensional stability of the Silastic cosmetic pigmented group; the dimensional stability of Silastic was affected after 60 days of exposition in all groups. For the Brascoved silicone, the chemical disinfection only didn't have influence about dimensional stability in initial period; the exposition factor had influence about the dimensional stability of Brascoved in all periods and groups. The details were maintained in all specimens for both silicones, independent of the exposition time, of the pigments or disinfection. / Mestre

Mancuso, Daniela Nardi. January 2008 (has links)
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate absorption, solubility, hardness and colour change of 4 soft liners after thermocycling. A resin base (Trusoft) and three silicone base (Dentusil, Ufi Gel P e Ufi Gel SC) were used on this research. A total of eighty samples were manufactured: forty for absorption and solubility test and forty for both hardness and colour change tests. All samples were subjected to 2000 hours of thermocycling. Dentusil showed the following values: Shore A hardness (40.50), colour change (ΔE=0.83), absorption (0.30) and solubility (0.01). Trusoft, on the other hand, showed the following values: Shore A hardness (18.50), colour change (ΔE=3.92), absorption (1.48) and solubility (1.26). Both UfiGel P and SC showed similar results for all three tests. All properties are linked and as big is the initial hardness, small will be both absorption and solubility and consequently small will be the colour change. / Doutor
