Skolan på Mälarängen är en grundskola på en tomt i Mälarhöjden, söder om Stockholm. Tomten präglas av en trafikerad väg som tar upp trafik från den intilliggande E4an, av naturmarker med äng och skog samt omkringliggande höjder och en kulle på tomten. Skolans volymer skärmar av skolan från vägen och menar till att skapa en skolgård som blir intim då den ramas in av skolbyggnaden och de omkringliggande höjderna.   Skolan syftar till att vara en marknära byggnad som grundar sig på sin plats och tillåter elever och lärare att röra sig mellan byggnadens alla program utan att behöva ta på sig skorna. Skolbyggnaden delar upp skolgården i olika rum som anpassas efter årskursernas olika behov. När skolans program landat på tomten skapas ett samlande rum mellan dem. Det samlande rummet är skolans hjärta och har armar som sträcker sig ut mot sin omgivning och blir en kommunikation mellan skolans alla rum samt en koppling mellan byggnad och skolgård. / The School at Mälarängen is an elementary school  at a site called Mälarängen, in Mälarhöjden, a suburb south of Stockholm. The site is characterized by a road that leads the traffic from the freeway(E4an) up in Mälarhöjden, by uncultivated land with forest and a meadow and by surrounding heights and a small hill in the middle of the site. The school volumes screens of the school from the road and mean to create a schoolyard that is intimate due to being framed by the school building and the surrounding hills.   The school aims to be a ground-based building that cooperates with its location and allows students and teachers to move between the building's all programs without having to put on their shoes. The school building divides the schoolyard into different rooms adapted to the different needs of the students. When the school's programs landed on the site, a collective space is created between them. This gathering room is the heart of the school and has arms that extend out to the surroundings of the school and become a communication between the school's different functions and a link between the building and the schoolyard.
