Služby pro osoby se znevýhodněním a jejich transformace po roce 2007 / "Services for people with handicaps and their transformation after 2007BARVÍNKOVÁ, Martina January 2010 (has links)
The services for handicapped people and their transformation after 2007 The present graduation thesis deals with screening the situation in the area of social services for persons with different handicap, especially regarding the transformation of social services after 2007. In the theoretical part, I am describing particularly the characteristics of the previous and the current systems of social services. When characterising the previous system of social services, I concentrate on the legislation, governing this system. Further I am presenting the characteristics and status of the consulting services, and socially activating service, as in the further chapters I am dealing with the latter when presenting the services of the KONÍČEK, o. s. association. When presenting the new system of social services, I am describing in particular the basic principles of this system, changes it brings to the users, legislation and quality standards of the social services. A big chapter is devoted to the Social Services Act. Further chapters describe the financing of social services, education of workers in social services, and work of volunteers in social services. The practical part presents my hypothesis and the aims of the present work. Further chapters present the target group and describe the data collection. Data was collected in the form a guided interview, the questions were answered by the representatives of the given non-profit organization. This chapter includes also a presentation of the activities of the KONÍČEK, o. s. association before 2007, when the services were not registered. Further I am presenting the activities of the association in 2008, when the association was already a registered provider of social services. I am presenting, in the Discussion chapter, the screening of the transformation of social services after 2007, the obtained data, and I am offering their comparison with the outputs found out in the KONÍČEK, o. s. association, or with literature data.

Die ontwikkeling van 'n assesseringsprogram vir geneeskundige maatskaplike werkersBeytell, Anna-Marie 14 April 2014 (has links)
M.A. (Social Work) / Accountability and competence are two important attributes needed by medical social workers in the changing social, political, economic and organizational situation in South Africa, In order -to be accountable and competent, medical social workers must be in possession of scientific knowledge, skills and the correct attitude regarding assessment, intervention and evaluation. The change in emphasis from long-term to short-term hospitalization and the importance of primary health care, means that within the limitations of the present organization structure, assessment is often the most important and sometimes the only, aspect in the helping process. The knowledge and skills of the medical social workers need to be extended; this study therefore focuses on effective assessment that will equip the medical social worker to render an effective service through linking resources within the patient, hospital and within the community. The aim of this study is the development of a training programme for medical social workers to extend their knowledge and skills in assessment.

Die sosio-ekonomiese opname as instrument vir die inisiëring van 'n ontwikkelingsproses in 'n landelike gemeenskap met spesifieke verwysing na WartburgRossouw, Anthonie Michael Müller January 1992 (has links)
Aim of this study. The problem of poverty, especially in rural S.A ., formed the basis for the questions and hypotheses posed in this study. Poverty stricken communities, with the accompanying suffering, the immobilizing effect of poverty and the present climate of urgent changes in S.A., were also apparent in Wartburg (study area). The problem was to initiate development in such a way that the chances of failure and therefore the wasting of already scarce resources is minimized. The manner in which development is initiated and what are viewed as desirable elements of development should culminate into achieving self-sustaining development in the long term. It became clear therefore that a complete data base needs to be established in order to initiate such a development process. In this study the aim was to investigate the role which research plays in the process of development. Method. This study can be divided into two sections, viz an investigation into the theoretical basis for achieving a self-sustaining process of development and how research should be done within such a process. Secondly, the practical application of such a theoretical basis was tested and forms the empirical section of this study. The first section was completed by undertaking a literature study. The conditions set for the development process guided the researcher increasingly to a holistic perspective, Community Development and the state of the art of Social Work Practice. The second part of this study was done through empirical research. The questionnaire method was utilized where structured interviews were conducted by properly trained field workers who were of similar cultural background as the community involved in the survey. The data was processed by using the B.M.D.P. programme and recorded in section B of this report. From section A and B of this report conclusions were drawn regarding the development process, the role research has in this process and the task of the Social Work Profession in this regard. Findings. From the theory it seemed that the state of the art regarding social Work Practice upholds a holistic perspective and views community practice and development as an important function within this perspective. It seems that a unitary approach to Social Work is increasingly becoming a reality in the pursuit of a holistic perspective as well as by stressing the importance of community practice. The integrated approach to Social Work Practice seems to collaborate with these views. The role of research is equally important to social Work Practice as it is to Community Development and should be viewed as an integral part of the Social Work Process/Practice. The empirical section of this study is a clear example of what can be achieved by a properly planned and executed research project which forms an integral part of a development process. Together with the community valuable data were drawn from the data base. These conclusions were directly employed to identify priorities and in planning specific projects. Conclusions. This study concludes, firstly, that Social Work Practice has an obvious task in the field of community development. This profession can contribute to a large extent toward making development more human and to acknowledge the importance of both man and his environment when considering development. The study also showed that research is an integral part of a development process, especially where the aim is that of a perpetuating, self-sustaining development process. In short, it seems that the Socio-economic research meets the requirements set by the aforementioned development process, but that refining seems necessary in order to make it more effective and useful as an instrument for initiating such a process of development as discussed in the above paragraphs.

DEALING WITH PUBLIC CRITICISM OF SOCIAL SERVICES ORGANISATIONS : A Qualitative study of children and youth social services organisations in SwedenMuuru, Maureen, Kiptoo Kogei, Saul January 2023 (has links)
This qualitative study aimed to explore and understand how children's and youth social service organisations in Sweden deal with public criticism. The study utilised system theory and social constructionist theory. A purposive sampling method was used to target social service managers with relevant knowledge and experience related to the research topic. Semistructured interviews with open-ended questions were conducted through Zoom with four social services managers and transcribed for thematic analysis using Atlas TI software. The data analysis revealed three major themes with sub themes related to dealing with public criticism in children and youth social services organisations: (1) forms of public criticism in children and youth organisations; (2) strategies used by organisations to manage public criticism; and (3) the role of communication in managing public criticism. Results indicated that social service organisations in Sweden employ a variety of strategies to manage public criticism, including proactive communication, collaboration, and transparency. However, organisations also face challenges related to trust, communication, and legal constraints. The findings of this study may be useful for organisations in developing effective strategies to manage public criticism and improving organisational performance.

Previous issue date: 2018-09-27 / The thesis investigates the relation between the Social Service and Marx's social theory, seeking to know the political direction the profession has taken to consolidate the Critical Social Service, from the approach with the Marxist tradition without the Marxian thought until the encounter with the work of Marx. Starting from the hypothesis that the Social Service has its genesis in the conservative politics of the capitalist State, that such conservatism expresses the reformist political direction advocated by that State as a protector and maintainer organ of the interests of the capitalist class, and that the conservative / reformist character of the profession persists to the present day challenging the profession political nature interventionist character committed to a professional exercise immersed in the critique of political economy, in the understanding of social service as a profession inserted in the socio-technical division of labor and sustained by the ethical principle of the intransigent defense of the interests of working class, the thesis is the result of a bibliographical research with the effective instrumental of the investigative process execution defined by the systematic study of the literature concerning the question of the relation established between the Social Service and Marx's social theory conveyed in the written and spoken works disseminated with their theoretical contributions in books, websites, videos and backed by the historical and theoretical foundations of the profession explained by the Marxist critical theoretical matrix and constituted from the 1960s following the social question and consolidated in the years 1980. The first part of the text discusses the meeting of the Social Service with Marxist thought emphasizing the sociohistorical and ideopolitical antecedents of the social service and social theory of Marx relation occurred in the contexts of the social question produced by the capitalist social reproduction in Europe, Latin America and Brazil. In the second debate the construction of the Critical Social Service with the Marxist critical theoretical matrix and the conception of the Social Service as an institutionalized profession oriented by the movement of rupture intention that the profession agreed to carry out as a way to suppress the traditional and conservative bias in which the profession was based. The third part deals with the limitations, contradictions and possibilities in the political direction of critical social service on the way to the emancipation of the working class / A tese investiga a relação entre o Serviço Social com a teoria social de Marx buscando conhecer a direção política que a profissão tem tomado para consolidar o Serviço Social Crítico, desde a aproximação com a tradição marxista sem o pensamento marxiano até o encontro com a obra de Marx.
