Enhetsoberoende GUI av larmapplikation

Dahlström, Jesper January 2014 (has links)
The company Attendit have been developing the system product NetAlert™ since 2006.  NetAlert™ has clients for Android, Win 32, and iOS. The product is an alarm system for personal safety which uses a serverbackend with which all clients communicate through an encrypted socket in real-time. The goal of this project was to develop NetAlert™ further, to get a responsive and user-friendly interface that anyone can use, regardless of technical competence. The poll was conducted by means of a questionnaire that users answered. During the development stage, the survey has been in mind, to obtain an application that users find easy to use. Unfortunately, I did not have time to finish the application due there were many hours of troubleshooting, bug fixes and the such, so the time was not quite enough, but I conclude that my user interface is easy to use, visually appealing, and it is suitable for all age groups.

Using Grid Network between VISIR Laboratories

Mehraban, Mehrdad January 2015 (has links)
VISIR “Virtual Instrument Systems in Reality” is a remote laboratory that empowers students and researchers to design, implement, and measure on electronic circuits remotely. Users are able to connect to this system regardless of their location and use traditional lab resources online via JavaScript and HTML5 enabled web browser. The VISIR project is deployed to seven universities around the globe including Blekinge Institute of Technology (BTH) in Sweden. In this thesis work, the main aim is to introduce load-balancing Scenarios in VISIR network in order to enable and improve load balancing, stability, and scalability in this system. The participant universities will be connected in a grid topology, and they exchange capabilities, features, and data repository in order to share workload and resources. For this purpose, the behavior of VISIR network nodes were studied and simplified as simple servers. According to the VISIR characteristics, infrastructure, and requirement a set of design paradigms and guidelines were defined for selecting suitable load balancing mechanism to be used in VISIR system. Four different load-balancing methods described, were selected for comparison in an experimental setup. Moreover, an experimental test bed with utilizing virtual Linux machines was modeled, and chosen scenarios were implemented and tested under different circumstances i.e. various number of servers and clients.

Mobilt övervakningssystem : System för internetkommunikation mellan sensorer, webbsida, server och databas

Stålberg, Ingela January 2012 (has links)
This thesis has been carried out in cooperation with a company which develops mobile sensor platforms. The sensors measure different types of data such as temperature, pressure etc.. They will communicate through the internet with a server that stores data in a database. This system will be controlled and monitored through a web page. The project's aim has been to develop this system and to implement a server, a database, a website and a client application that simulates sensor signals. In addition, the performance of the server should be measured and a usability test should be performed. To measure the performance of the server, different variants of the client program, which continuously sent data from an increasing number of clients to the server, were developed. In the usability test the participants had to solve a number of tasks after which they answered a survey and were interviewed. The result is a communication system that works according to the requirements and a client program that is also used for testing the server. The investigation of the server performance showed a maximum bandwidth of about 370 kb/s while serving up to 70 clients. The database consumed 95% of the bandwith. However, with a rising number of clients there was a continous decline in the performance. In usability tests, there was a big difference in how people perceive computer programs depending on their experience and education. For this application, the server worked well, but if the project is to be developed into a large scale, it then becomes relevant to move onto an asynchronous working server instead of a thread-server. Queries to a database (MySQL) considerably decreases bandwidth and should be optimized where possible.
