Remote Pressure Control - Considering Pneumatic Tubes in Controller DesignRager, David, Neumann, Rüdiger, Murrenhoff, Hubertus January 2016 (has links)
In pneumatic pressure control applications the influence of tubes that connect the valve with the control volume ist mainly neglected. This can lead to stability and robustness issues and limit either control performance or tube length. Modeling and considering tube behavior in controller design procedure allows longer tubes while maintaining the required performance and robustness properties without need for manual tuning. The author\'s previously published Simplified Fluid Transmission Line Model and the proposed model-based controller design enable the specification of a desired pressure trajectory in the control volume while the pressure sensor is mounted directly at the valve. Thus wiring effort is reduced as well as cost and the chance of cable break or sensor disturbance. In order to validate the simulated results the proposed control scheme is implemented on a real-time system and compared to a state-of-the-art pressure regulating valve

Modélisation électrique et énergétique des accumulateurs Li-Ion. Estimation en ligne de la SOC et de la SOH / Energetical and electrical modelling of lithium-ion batteries.Online estimation of SOC and SOHUrbain, Matthieu 04 June 2009 (has links)
This dissertation of thesis deals with the electrical modelling of lithium-ion accumulators and the determination of both state-of-charge (SOC) and state-of-health (SOH). The first chapter is focused on generalities about lithium-ion technology: characteristics, qualities, constitution of the storage device, choice and nature of the electrodes and their consequences on energetical features. The principle and the general equations of the electrochemical phenomena are developed as well. Application examples from different industrial areas are displayed for several power and energy ranges. The second section is about the electrical modelling of lithium-ion accumulators. With a view to better understand the complex electrochemical phenomena, elements of physical modelling are proposed. Then, the synthesis of different electrical models released in the press is considered. On the basis of experimental campaigns lead on a 6.8 Ah lithium-element, we proposed, in a third chapter, our own equivalent electrical model suitable for both discharge phases and relaxation period. In particular, we depict several alternatives to distribute the energy and describe the different line effects. Both characterization tools and parameters extraction procedure are clearly detailed. In the last section, we tackle both SOC and SOH on-line determination. After a short review of academicals and industrial solutions, we rapidly head towards the use of a Kalman filter. In order to compare its features versus the coulombmeter, we propose a model and an algorithm, numerical simulations and experimental tests are performed

Algoritmos Genéticos para Síntese de Filtros Aplicados em Controle por Modo Deslizante. / Genetic Algorithms for Synthesis of Filters Applied in a Sliding Mode Control.Felipe da Trindade do Nascimento 20 July 2010 (has links)
A modulação
A síntese
resposta impulsiva admissível no sistema.
This thesis proposes the application of genetic algorithms for the synthesis of filters which
modulate signals of variable structure sliding mode controllers. The modulation of the
control signal reduces the amplitude of the output signal and thus can reduce power
consumption and chattering. These filters are also applied to systems with parametric
uncertainties and unmeasured state variables. In these systems, the uncertainties can
impair the accurate estimation of the state by means of observers. For the synthesis of
these filters, it is necessary to obtain the envelope which is the maximum norm of each
impulse response admissible for the system. After this step, a filter is synthesized to be
an upper bound for the envelope. In this study, three methods of search of the envelope
by genetic algorithms were developed. One of these methods has been giving the best
results and needs the least computational time.

This dissertation presents a proposal of a discrete-time state-feedback control law applied to the Sirius magnetic source power supply. In order to meet the magnets' required voltage and current levels the source is formed by series and parallel associa-tion of modular converters. Each module is made up of two stages, input and output, in which the later is addressed this work. The output stage is constituted by a full bridge converter associated with a third-order filter. Initially a mathematical model is obtained for a single module. This model is later extended to represent the connection of several modules in series. Then the plant is discretized and state feedback law is designed to control the system. The optimal technique Digital Linear Quadratic Regu-lator was used to place the closed-loop poles. However, when modules are associated, due the order of the system it becomes impracticable to measure all the states. Then an optimal reduced order observer is proposed to provide to controller the states that are not measured. An stability analysis is performed in order to verify the controller robustness. For the association of modules in parallel was considered that the output currents of each module are the parcels of the state corresponding to the current of the magnetic loads. Based on this premise and in the previously control design for the series modules association, is proposed a control topology for the parallel arrange-ment. Simulation results were obtained, for the both configuration of modules series and parallel, and the performances of the controller and state-observer were verified.

This research work proposes the development and the validation of an online and real-time method to predict the remaining service life of the gearwheels of automotive transmissions, with the aim of implementing it on standard control units of series-production vehicles. By focusing on the proposition of a simple, reliable and easy-to-implement solution, the system relies on the combination of an acquisition method of the torques acting in the transmission and a continuous estimation of the damage levels of the gearwheels. Firstly, a state of the art and the theoretical basics are presented concerning a damage estimation based on a nominal stress concept and a linear damage accumulation. The global structure of the damage estimation algorithm is then analyzed and the methodological approach adopted for its development is explained. This is based in principal on a drivetrain model, validated with tests and measurements, where a particular attention is paid to the representation of the gear shifts and the transmission dynamics. Two types of transmissions are considered, namely a standard manual transmission and a dual clutch transmission mounted in series-production cars. Respectively a requirement analysis for the configuration of the algorithm as well as a requirement specification for the torque acquisition method are performed. On this basis, a state observer is developed and validated, which is able to reconstruct the clutch torque and the transmission output torque. Finally, a synthesis of the complete method and the final version of the algorithm are addressed, and the economic and ecological advantages of the introduction of the method in the context of lightweight design measures are discussed and evaluated.

Observateurs adaptatifs pour l'identification en ligne et l'observation des systèmes linéaires / Adaptive observers for online identification and state observation of linear systemsAfri, Chouaib 13 December 2016 (has links)
In this thesis, we study the problem of identification of a linear dynamical system. First, we survey various methods that have been developed in the literature. We focus more particularly on methods named adaptive observers. Secondly we present an approach which combines subspace identification methods and adaptive observers. This new method is interesting since it allows us to identify MIMO systems in an arbitrary basis. The convergence of this algorithm is demonstrated using the persistent excitation notions. In the third chapter we introduce a new method that is inspired from nonlinear Luenberger observers developed in recent years. This new algorithm is different from the existing algorithms since the parameters and the systemstatus are estimated simultaneously. We demonstrate the robustness of this approach. The convergence of the algorithm is obtained if the system inputs satisfy a differential excitation hypothesis. All these algorithms are evaluated and implemented on an experimental bench

Bioprocess software sensors development facing modelling and model uncertainties / Développement de capteurs logiciels pour les bioprocédés face aux incertitudes de modélisation et de modèleHulhoven, Xavier 07 December 2006 (has links)
The exponential development of biotechnology has lead to a quasi unlimited number of potential products going from biopolymers to vaccines. Cell culture has therefore evolved from the simple cell growth outside its natural environment to its use to produce molecules that they do not naturally produce. This rapid development could not be continued without new control and supervising tools as well as a good process understanding. This requirement involves however a large diversity and a better accessibility of process measurements. In this framework, software sensors show numerous potentialities. The objective of a software sensor is indeed to provide an estimation of the system state variables and particularly those which are not obtained through in situ hardware sensors or laborious and expensive analysis. In this context, This work attempts to join the knowledge of increasing bioprocess complexity and diversity and the time scale of process developments and favours systematic modelling methodology, its flexibility and the speed of development. In the field of state observation, an important modelling constraint is the one induced by the selection of the state to estimate and the available measurements. Another important constraint is the model quality. The central axe of this work is to provide solutions in order to reduce the weight of these constraints to software sensors development. On this purpose, we propose four solutions to four main questions that may arise. The first two ones concern modelling uncertainties.

1."How to develop a software sensor using measurements easily available on pilot scale bioreactor?" The proposed solution is a static software sensor using an artificial neural network. Following this modelling methodology we developed static software sensors for the biomass and ethanol concentrations in a pilot scale S. cerevisae cell culture using the measurement of titrating base quantity, agitation rate and CO& / Doctorat en sciences agronomiques et ingénierie biologique / info:eu-repo/semantics/nonPublished

Modélisation et observabilité des machines électriques en vue de la commande sans capteur mécanique / Modeling and observability of electric drives in view of mechanical sensorless controlKoteich, Mohamad 18 May 2016 (has links)
High-performance control of electric drives requires an accurate knowledge of the rotor position and/or speed. These mechanical variables are traditionally measured using sensors, which increases the cost and reduces both the robustness and the reliability of the system. This emphasizes the importance of electric drives control without shaft sensors, often referred to as sensorless control : it consists of replacing sensors with a state observer algorithm, that estimates the desired mechanical variables from currents and voltages sensing and based on the system’s model. Nevertheless, before designing a state observer, the observability ofthe system should be examined, that is, it should be checked whether the states to be estimated can be reconstructed, unambiguously, from the input/output signalsof the system. This work addresses the modeling and the observability analysis of electric drives in the view of mechanical sensors removal. Firstly, electrical machines models areelaborated, and it is shown that a unified modeling of alternating current machines is feasible, for the purpose of designing unified control and estimation strategies. The observability of the machines’ models is next studied in the view of sensorless control. The local instantaneous observability theory is applied, which enables us to formulate physically insightful analytic conditions that can be easily interpreted and tested in real time. The validity of the observability conditions is confirmed by numerical simulations and experimental data, using an extended Kalman observer. This work contributes to novel outlooks on the sensorless alternating current drives and to a deeper understanding of its properties, in order to develop higher performance estimation techniques in the critical operating conditions (mainly at standstill and/or zero-stator-frequency).The concepts introduced throughout this thesis, such as the equivalent flux and the observability vector, with the obtained results, open new horizons in a domainthat seems to become mature enough.
