Vibronové stavy v cérových krystalických sloučeninách / Vibron states in cerium crystalline compounds

Doležal, Petr January 2021 (has links)
This thesis is focused on study of the vibron state in Ce intermetallics. The presence of a vibron state is a consequence of an enhanced magneto-elastic interaction, between phonons and 4f electrons of the Ce ion. The magneto-elastic interaction is usually weak and can be neglected, but here in CeAl2, CePd2Al2, CeCuAl3 and CeAuAl3 is considered to be strong enough, which leads to a bound state called the vibron state. A well determined crystal structure of these compounds is a necessary prerequisite to discuss this unique behaviour. Therefore our investigation is performed on the following levels: A crystal structure study of (Ce,La)Pd2Al2-xGax and CePt2Al2, by low temperature and high temperature X-ray powder diffraction; Investigation of bulk and transport properties of a CePt2Al2 single crystal using the specific heat, magnetisation and electrical resistivity measurements; Symmetry analysis of phonon modes and angular momentum operators in the model Hamiltonian, based on group theory; And finally the study of phonon dispersion curves in CePd2Al2 and LaPd2Al2 single crystals using inelastic X-ray scattering. All these results and preformed analyses lead to the following conclusions: The CePd2Al2 and LaPd2Al2 are incongruently melting phases. We found and described the way which has allowed us to...

Nemoci v populacích římského období z hlediska paleopatologie. / Diseases in populations from the Roman period in terms of paleopathology.

Hlavenková, Lucia January 2019 (has links)
Human osteological and dental remains are important for reconstruction of health and disease patterns in the past, preserving information in the form of abnormal changes on bones and teeth. These changes can reflect the spread of numerous diseases and the consequences they had on the health of various historical populations and groups. Systematic investigation performed within the present thesis explored pathologies in skeletal collections from six archaeological sites from across Slovakia and Hungary, dating to the 1st and 5th centuries AP. The total sample consisted of 300 individuals that were divided among three populations: the Germanic (GS), the Roman (RS) and the Sarmatian series (SS). Pathologies were assessed macroscopically and discussed on population and individual levels. Overall, sex, age and lesion distribution frequencies were used to determine a disease pattern characteristic for a corresponding group and then compared between the series. Conditions identified during the analysis were arranged into nine main categories. The analysis revealed that the health status of GS, RS and SS was generally good, though adults from GS and RS had experienced poorer dental health. The most common lesions observed in all series, particularly in GS, were due to degenerative and dental diseases,...

Excited state dynamics of carotenoids in solution and proteins / Excited state dynamics of carotenoids in solution and proteins

CHÁBERA, Pavel January 2010 (has links)
Time resolved spectroscopy is one of the crucial methods used to study processes on molecular level in biological systems. It is useful especially for monitoring fast processes that take a place in photosynthetic apparatus of photosynthetic organisms, such as electron and energy transfer. The integral parts of photosynthetic apparatus are carotenoids, whose role in the photosynthetic apparatus is not as well explored as it is for chlorophylls. It was proved that carotenoids actively participate in energy transfer processes in photosynthetic antennas. They have a crucial role in protection against excess energy damage. They are also electron donors in both antennas and reaction centers. The fact that photo-physical properties of carotenoids are much different from properties of others organic pigments, complicates studies of their functions in photosynthesis as well as in other biological systems. This thesis employs advanced methods of femtosecond spectroscopy to obtain more information about carotenoid functions in some biological systems and in solution with special focus on carotenoids containing carbonyl group.

Systém mobilizace ozbrojených sil České republiky na počátku 21. století: Přežitek minulosti nebo nezbytnost současnosti? / System of Mobilization of The Armed Forces of The Czech Republic in The Begining of The 21st Century:Exces of The Part or Necesserity of The Meantime?

Živčák, Štefan January 2009 (has links)
The work analyses the problems with the mobilization system of the Czech armed forces as one of the main elements in the rescue system of the Czech Republic. It is taken as a collective part of the rescue system of the European nation. Author presents hypothesis that somehow the rescue system still has not over come the division of the past when the world was divided geopolitically and the war danger was immediate. On the other side there may be some kind of inability to find the suitable way how to effectively use the professional forces committed to action out of the state. On the base of the historical point of view this work analyses the meaning of the rescue and mobilization system in the optional war conflict. Also it contemplates the changes in the geopolitics system after the year 1989. The first place takes the question whether the Czech rescue system really reflex to the geopolitical changes, whether the activity is effective - the ratio between the danger and economical and human resources. Important part of this work is comparison between the Czech rescue system and the rescue systems of the chosen states of NATO and EU. Author studies the literature, experiences and other sources. From sources the author presents hypothesis, of the possible solution and suitable provision of the new...

Inverzní analýza spolehlivosti předpjatého mostu / Inverse reliability analysis of prestressed bridge

Lipowczan, Martin January 2018 (has links)
The proposed diploma thesis deals with the application of methodology and tools of inverse analysis for design of selected structural parameters using a fully probabilistic analysis to determine the level of its reliability. The method based on artificial neural networks is used to approximate the inverse function. The inverse analysis was carried out in two ways that differs in the method of obtaining reliability indicators. The structure analyzed in this work was an existing bridge. The year of construction is estimated approximately between the years 1955 to 1960. The bridge is located close to the Uherský Ostroh. It is a one-piece concrete slab made of MPD3 and MPD4 girders post-tensioned by tendons. Based on the 2006 and 2007 diagnostic surveys, laboratory tests, normative regulations and recommendations and, last but not least, sensitivity analyses, an inverse design of selected design parameters was performed for required limit states. Various load levels, different alternatives of design parameters and different neural network structures were studied.
