Klačková, Katarína January 2009 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with the topic of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. The objective of the thesis is to compile a summary of institutions concerned with business support in Czech Republic and Slovak Republic and compare certain types of business support in both countries. The first chapter clarifies the basic terms, shows definitions of micro, small and medium-sized companies according to different institutions and explains how small and medium-sized companies contribute to the economy of Czech Republic. The second chapter deals with institutions that are concerned with business support and support programmes financed from a state budget in Czech Republic and in Slovak Republic. Particular institutions provide enterprises with informational, material and financial support and are focused differently according to the purpose of their foundation, specific business segment they deal with or activities they perform or services that they provide. The third chapter is focused on business support from the European Union. The most important business support programme in Czech Republic is Operational Programme Enterprise and Innovation and in Slovak Republic Operational Programme Competitiveness and Economic Growth so the greatest attention is oriented on these two programmes. The fourth chapter deals with certain types of business support and compares their focus and results in Czech Republic and Slovak Republic. The comparison is made between particular types of support (e. g. indirect support, microloans), between specific groups of entrepreneurs (e. g. businesswomen, starting entrepreneurs) and particular business activities (e. g. export, business presentation). The conclusion reviews the results of the thesis and gives an advice which country has more favourable conditions for starting a business.

Efektivnost a účinnost prostředků vynaložených ze strukturálních fondů EU na opatření v ochraně vod ČR / Efficiency and effectiveness of european structural funds in water protection in the Czech Republic

Hájková, Kateřina January 2012 (has links)
The purpose of this diploma thesis is to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of structural funds of the European Union in water protection in the Czech Republic. The main goal of the research is whether public resources are used cost-effectively and whether they are not being wasted. The theoretical basis of the subsidy's issue as a tool of public policy, are discussed in the first part of the thesis. As a consequence the effectiveness and efficiency of subsidies as a main tool of European Regional Policy are also discussed. General conclusions are demonstrated on specific statistical water protection data of the Czech Republic in the second part of this thesis. Several patterns which show problems decreasing efficiency and effectiveness of expended resources were used in the research. Analysis showed that investments into water protection are necessary and needed from social point of view, but the way the subsidies are provided is controversial. Finally, the thesis attempts to discuss alternative tools which could gain the same results with lower costs.

Loun, Jakub January 2011 (has links)
Diploma thesis The Impact of Public Subsidies on Development of Enterprises in the Czech Republic examines the real impact on profit, revenues and debts. Counterfactual impact evaluation method is used on companies subsidised from structural funds. These indicators were examined by difference-in-difference method based on the selective research of 1738 companies subsidised from OP Entrepreneurship and Innovation and control group of the same size. The impact of public support on the profit of subsidised companies was quantified as 608 -- 5 547 ths. CZK and the impact on sales as 14 713 -- 42 511 ths. CZK. 1 CZK used for subsidies increased the profit of supported companies by 0.05 -- 0.44 CZK and sales by 1.16 -- 3.35 CZK. Hypothesis that the growth of supported firms increased their debt has not been proved. Also a slight positive effect of support on growth in return on equity was identified.

Monitoring a auditing strukturálních fondů EU / Monitoring and auditing in structural funds of EU

Vykouková, Barbora January 2012 (has links)
This thesis explores the question of the decentralization processes between institutions and other parties involved in auditing and monitoring of the structural funds of the EU. I evaluate the present functional relations of these subjects using document analysis. The thesis follows two levels of analysis, which are compared in the end. The first level concerns the general setting of the systems of relations between union bodies and member states. The second one presents specific situations in the operational program Prague Competitiveness. The thesis disproves the initial hypothesis and claim that the relations on the supranational level tend to be more deconcentrated than decentralized, whereas the system at the national level shows more decentralization characteristics in this specific case.
