This master´s thesis deals with the constructional and calculation design of the boiler for burning wood and sub-bituminous coal. The work is divided into several parts. First, stoichiometrics calculation and enthalpy calculations of air and flue gas are performed. It is calculated heat balance of the boiler, the boiler losses and the thermal efficiency of the boiler is determined. After designing the combustion chamber thermal calculation is made. Then, the dimensions and individual heating surfaces are proposed. At the end of the calculations are controlling the overall energy balance.

The main part of the thesis consists of stoichiometric calculations, establishing efficiency of the boiler, calculating combustion chamber as well as design and calculation individual heating surfaces. Part of the work is also drawing documentation of boiler.

The thesis is dedicated to the design of the steam boiler which burns wood chips, with a natural circulation of the water. It is a grate boiler, which produces 20 t/h of the steam. The output parameters of the steam are 420 °C and 5 MPa. The feedwater temperature is 125 ° C .The thesis gradually deals with stoichiometric calculations and determines the efficiency of the boiler. Then it describes the design of the fireplace and thermal calculations of each heat transfer surfaces. The appendix includes drawings of the boiler.

This thesis solves a design of a grate boiler burning wood chips or brown coal with a heat output of 160 MW. Stoichiometry flue gas is calculated according to the specified composition of each fuel. The dimensions of the individual heating surfaces are primarily calculated for burning wood chips and subsequently checked for the combustion of brown coal. Design of the boiler is completed by checking the overall heat output. Boiler design is accompanied by drawing documentation.

The dissertation consist of the theoretical part, where are described heat-exchangers and steam generators used in nuclear power plants. For the final variant are necessary calculations (introduced above) and drawings of selected parts are done. In the final statement is technical solution evaluated, and the parameters of the steam generator are compared with actually used steam generators.

This diploma thesis deals with the constructional and calculation design of boiler for blast furnace and coke gas mixture combustion, including sizing of the heating surfaces. The opening section is dedicated to a brief characterization of burned fuels. The following chapter shows the parameters and composition of the resulting fuel mixture. The main part of this thesis involves; determining the stoichiometric amount air required for combustion and the resulting flue gas, determining the boiler efficiency and steam production rate, calculations regarding the combustion chamber and the detailed design of the individual heat exchangers. At the end of the thesis the heat balance of the entire boiler is verified. Drawing documentation of boiler is also part of this diploma thesis.
