Cada um dos capítulos trabalha a partir de um produto cultural contemporâneo tomado como flagrante de uma série de negociações entre forças discursivas hegemônicas e contra-hegemônicas: a “lei dos crimes hediondos”; Sobrevivente André du Rap (do Massacre do Carandiru); Estação Carandiru e alguns dos escritos publicados de Luiz Alberto Mendes (os livros Memórias de um sobrevivente, Às cegas e o conto Cela forte). A partir da leitura de cada um deles são movimentadas questões referentes à invenção discursiva de espaços imaginários marginais, agenciamentos identitários, técnicas e políticas de subjetivação e escrita de si. / The texts which compose this dissertation take as issue some discursive investments that operate in the intersection of the imaginary notions of “criminal” and “prisoner”, organized in four chapters that constitute the analytical efforts over a problem which I formulated and intended to reflect on: which are some of the possible forms through which the subjects are produced in the injunction of two kinds of relevant social-historic experience: the processes of criminalization and imprisionment? Each chapter focuses on a contemporary cultural product taken as a snapshot of a series of negotiations between hegemonic and counter-hegemonic discursive forces: the Brazilian “law of the atrocious crimes”; Sobrevivente André du Rap (do Massacre do Carandiru); Estação Carandiru and a selection of the published writings of Luiz Alberto Mendes (the books Memórias de um sobrevivente and Às cegas and the short story Cela forte). The reading of each one of them puts into motion questions referring to the invention of imaginary marginal spaces, identity agency, techniques and politics of subjectivation and writing of the self.
