Traffic Aware Location Aided Routing (TALAR) for Real Time Information Transmission over Intelligent Vehicular System

Kuo,Ying-Sheng Unknown Date (has links)
The growth of inter-vehicle communication is exploding. An intelligent vehicular system (IVS) can help users in vehicles to get information more conveniently. The requirements from users and investment of car manufacture drive vehicle communication to become reality. Many applications and services are in demand over this new technology. Some architecture and routing methods have been developed, however, they may not suitable for IVS due to its high mobility and variable environment. Therefore, we try to find out a good routing solution for this system. In order to improve the performance and decrease delay, here we select geographic routing LAR (Location-Aided Routing) to reduce the flooding overhead. LAR is a reactive routing and it utilizes location information to reduce the flooding overhead. However, it seems not to take congestion into account which is an important factor for reducing delay. We propose a new scheme, called Traffic Aware Location Aided Routing (TALAR) to improve the congestion situation. We also use the AP’s advantageous properties such as extended transmission range and stability to help routing paths getting more efficient. We evaluate the performance via QUALNET simulations, and the results show the improvement of delay time. In the high mobility vehicular systems, it does help to construct an Intelligent Vehicular System.

Morphometric Analysis of the Talus on the Cohort of Healthy and Arthritic Patient Population:

Arvaneh, Tia 28 June 2017 (has links)
Prevalence of osteoarthritis (OA) is less common in the ankle compared to other joints; however, deformation brought on by degeneration causes pain, loss of function, and overall decreased quality of life. Current surgical interventions for end-stage ankle OA are not as reliable as surgical treatments for other joints. Ankle arthroplasty currently has high failure rates, and there are lack of substantial data from long-term outcome studies. By understanding the morphometric changes that occur during the different stages of OA, we are able to identify early signs of the disease with the intention to apply treatment earlier in order to preclude the need for end-stage surgical intervention. The goals of this study are to assess morphometric parameters of the talus as it relates to the progression of OA and to evaluate the effect of gender and anatomical side. A retrospective study was performed where data from sixty-eight CT scans were obtained from two study groups, one with OA and one without. The subjects were segmented, standardized, and normalized in order to study several 3D parameters of the talus, including height, radius of curvature, and volume. Results showed that talar morphometry is influenced by gender and that geometric changes are a function of OA progression. The lateral radii of subjects with OA was significantly larger than those of normal ankles (p<0.0001), and there is evidence of inherent changes between KL grades (p=0.0003). Identifying morphometric changes of the talus at each stage of OA can inherently contribute to better understanding the degenerative process. Assessing specific characteristics at earlier stages of the diseases may help clinicians to diagnose more accurately and to better provide treatment.

Malmsten, Majja January 2019 (has links)
The Jewish orientation "Haredi" in Israel is the most conservative group and believes that historical traditions are important to follow while waiving from modern society. In today's society, it is difficult to distance ourselves from modernization. This incuses the haredic communities in Israel and the inferior position of women. This study analyzes three contemporary media materials that illuminate the haredi woman's roles as well as her position to Halacha and modern developments. The research aims to answer to what kind of roles the haredi-woman are ascribed in the programs Shtisel, Israel talar and Extrema äktenskap.
