Financial Action Task Force (FATF) är det främsta internationella organ som verkar i kampen mot penningtvätt, i syfte att utveckla och förbättra de nationella systemen, stärka ett lands finansiella säkerhet och stärka det internationella samarbetet. FATF`s rekommendationer, liksom dess ömsesidiga utvärderingsprogram, är så kraftfullt att de anses som en "gyllene standard" beträffande penningtvätt. Syftet med uppsatsen är att kartlägga hur Sverige som medlemsland uppfyller efterlevnaden av FATF’s rekommendationer i granskningschecklistan, med särskild tonvikt på kundkännedomskraven, i jämförelse med FATF’s andra medlemsländer. Undersökningen baseras på FATF’s 34 medlemsländers ömsesidiga utvärderingsrapport, som vi bearbetar genom en kvantitativ undersökningsmetod. Studiens resultat visar att medlemsländernas genomsnittliga efterlevnadsnivå av samtliga rekommendationer är 53,3 %. Sverige uppfyller rekommendationerna till 51,8 %. Medelvärdet för samtliga medlemsländer beträffande åtgärderna för kundkännedom är 38,1 %. Sverige ligger under genomsnittet på 28,6 %.  Studieresultaten visar tydligt att Sveriges efterlevnadsnivå, av FATF’s samtliga rekommendationer, ligger på liknade genomsnittsnivå som övriga medlemsländer. Av samtliga 34 medlemsländer ligger Sverige på 19:e plats. Resultatet indikerar på att det behövs ytterligare insatser för att bekämpa penningtvätt på ett mer tillfredställande sätt. Vi kan även konstatera genom vår studie att Sveriges genomsnittliga efterlevnadsnivå på kundkännedomsåtgärder är betydligt lägre än övriga medlemsländers genomsnittsnivå. Av samtliga 34 medlemsländer ligger Sverige på 24:e plats. Det innebär att Sverige behöver mer målmedvetna åtgärder för de finansiella instituten och tillsynsmyndigheter för att förbättra efterlevnaden. Skillnaden i kundkännedomsregleringar kan tolkas av olika rekommendationers tillämpbarhet. Det beror på att vissa kundkännedomsrekommendationer inte är kompatibla eller tillämpbara. I vår studie har vi inte kunnat fastställa några mätbara faktorer till olikheter/likheter mellan ländernas efterlevnadsnivå utifrån granskningschecklistan, men från tidigare rapporter finns förbindelse mellan regleringsnivå i respektive land och efterlevnad. Det finns även en förbindelse mellan kostnadsstrategi och graden på efterlevnadsnivå Vilka skillnader och likheter som förekommer mellan ländernas efterlevnadsnivå har vi däremot kunnat konstatera. / Financial Action Task Force (FATF) is the main international body active in the fight against money laundering, in order to develop and improve national systems, strengthen the country's financial security and strengthen international cooperation. FATF `s recommendations, as well as its mutual evaluation program, are so powerful that they regarded as a" gold standard "for money laundering. The purpose of this paper is to identify how Sweden as a member country meets compliance with the FATF's recommendations in the audit checklist, with special emphasis on customer identification procedures, in comparison with the FATF's other member countries. The survey is based on the FATF's 34 member countries mutual evaluation report, which we process through a quantitative research method. Our results demonstrate that the Member States' average level of compliance of all the recommendations is 53.3%. Sweden fulfills the recommendations to 51.8%. The mean value of all member countries on measures of customer due diligence is 38.1%. Sweden is below average at 28.6%. The study results clearly indicate that Sweden's level of compliance, the FATF's recommendations all, is in a similar average level of other member countries. Of all the 34 member countries, Sweden is in 19th place. The results indicate that further efforts are needed to combat money laundering in a more satisfactory way. We can also observe through our study that Sweden's average levels of compliance due diligence measures are significantly lower than other Member States average. Of all the 34 member countries, Sweden is in 24th place. This means that Sweden needs more ambitious measures for financial institutions and regulators to improve compliance. The difference in customer due diligence regulations can be interpreted by different recommendations applicability. It is because some due diligence recommendations are not compatible or applicable. In our study, we have not been able to identify any measurable factors for differences / similarities between the countries' level of compliance based audit checklist, but from previous reports are connection between the level of regulation in each country and compliance. There is also a connection between the cost approach and the degree of compliance on what differences and similarities that exist between the countries' level of compliance, we have however been observed.

Education for social transformation : a quest for the practice of democracy

This study emerged from an awareness that educators comprehension of what is taking place in social movements (in social sites outside the formal institution) is most vital for understanding and linking adult education to the wider struggle for radical democracy. The Christian Task Force on Central America is a unique British Columbia wide solidarity network that provided the "practical" context to explore social change education. This case study used participant observation to examine the educational practice of the network. The study began by presenting the theoretical base, as developed from current literature, on education for social change. This included a critique of the dominant understanding and approach to social change education, reflecting a liberal philosophy of individualism and a pedagogy that is acritical and apolitical in nature. It was argued that this model of social change education strips social processes of their political nature and content by situating them within the framework of social adjustment. An alternative "transformative" social change model was presented; one that places greater stress on the relationship between education and social action. This included a discussion of three core elements: social change vision, a critical pedagogy and a pedagogy of mobilisation. The process of analysis involved exploring the Task Force as an transformative educational movement. The historical background to the network and its contemporary work was discussed. Key educational principles were identified from its practice and developed into a "grassroots" liberative theory of social change. The factors of "organisational structure" and "resources" were revealed as elements that have both a liberating and constraining effect on the work of the movement. The Task Force, as a case-study, illustrates the centrality and educational nature of the struggle for social justice. Educational activities of the network incorporate collective and active learning processes for social justice and are based upon a "practical" rather than speculative concept of social change. The study concludes that the radical possibility of education lies within the process of education itself; it is not so much the content as the method of practice which is vital in creating the conditions of a participatory democracy, here and now. Este trabalho aborda a atuação da Companhia Metropolitana de Habitação de São Paulo COHAB-SP, em vários momentos de sua história, observando mudanças que sofreu desde que foi constituída, como agente promotor do SFH, até hoje. E foca mais suas observações no desempenho desse órgão na esfera da provisão habitacional e no período 2001-2004, quando participou da implementação de uma política habitacional marcada por diferenças significativas em relação àquelas dos períodos precedentes. Diferenças que se verificaram no desenvolvimento de novas tipologias de projeto (terrenos menores e mais centrais, reforma de prédios, etc.), na implantação de novos programas habitacionais (moradia na área central, locação social, bolsa aluguel, etc.), na sua consolidação como agente operador do Fundo Municipal de Habitação, no papel ativo que desempenhou na busca de novas fontes de recursos (Ministério das Cidades (PSH e PEHP), CEF/PAR, CDHU, BID, etc) e em uma maior interlocução com movimentos e associações comunitárias. Este trabalho busca compreender potencialidades e limitações dessa Companhia, na solução dos problemas de habitação para população de baixa renda em sua área de abrangência, mas, sobretudo, no Município de São Paulo, onde tem um papel relevante, dentre os vários órgãos de provisão habitacional. / This thesis examines the experience of the Metropolitan Housing Agency of the city of São Paulo (COHAB-SP, for its name in Portuguese) in different periods of its history and detects changes that took place since its origin, as an agent of the Brazilian Housing Finance System (SFH, for its name in Portuguese), until the present day. It focuses mainly on this agencys performance in the provision of housing and on the period of 2001-2004, when it implemented a housing policy which represented a significant departure from past practice. These differences may be observed in new project typologies (smaller and more centrally located plots, building reform, etc.) and new housing programs (central-area housing, public rental housing, rent subsidies, etc.), as it asserted its role as an operational agent of the Municipal Housing Fund, in the active pursuit of new funding sources (Ministry of Cities; CEF, the federal governments savings bank; IDB, etc.) and a greater dialogue with social movements and community organizations. The research attempts to determine the potentialities and limitations of the agency in the solution of problems related to the provision of low-income housing in its metropolitan sphere of influence, but mainly in the city of São Paulo, where it plays an important role among the different agencies involved in the provision of housing.

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome Treatment

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is an endocrine system disorder that affects women of reproductive age. If not treated properly, PCOS can lead to infertility. Lack of proper treatment of PCOS may also result in medical complications such as diabetes or heart disease. The rural clinic where this project took place did not have a mandatory guideline for treatment of PCOS; therefore, no standardized method of diagnosis or treatment of PCOS existed. The purpose of this project, guided by the IOWA evidence-based practice model, was to educate providers on the evidence-based guideline for diagnosis and treatment of PCOS outlined by the Endocrine Society Taskforce. The guideline was selected after a comprehensive literature review and was used to develop an educational program that was provided to 5 nurse practitioners, the medical director and staff. A pre-test post-test design was used to determine if the participants understood the content from the guideline that was presented. Results showed that the researcher-developed test administered to participants yielded scores of 74 on the pre-test and increased after the education program with all participants scoring 100 on the post-test. The guideline used for the education was then presented to the clinic for implementation with the assistance of the medical director's support. The project provided an evidence-based guideline for diagnosing and treating PCOS and raised awareness of PCOS among all staff in a rural clinic where many patients with PCOS are treated. Positive social change may result as providers are better prepared to deliver evidence-based care for PCOS and as infertility and complications of untreated PCOS are reduced.
